It might just be the picture, but it looks like if anything the tie washes out a little too much relative to the shirt.

I'm not a big fashionista or anything but I would also say that the tie is not a good fit.
It needs to go on something it can contrast with and there it just sort of blends in.

The "general" rule is that your tie should be darker than your shirt. Unless you're Regis Philbin and you're hosting Who Wants to Be A Millionaire?, don't get cute with classic suit rules. No "Eldridge knot" bullshit, no crazy colors, NO HATS.
