The trick is to have a dog that's terrified of the car so he just stays in the back panting when he needs to go to the vet.

A family member has a dog that’s terrified of cars, and that poor thing just freaks the fuck out and barks as loud as he can in the car. They keep a partition and he just fucking goes nuts. Slobbering, barking loud, like crazy loud, as if we’re all in mortal danger.
