Life has really gotten in the way of me keeping up with updating and maintaining this lemmy instance. Work and a new family has me slow on updating this site.
While I have no problem paying for it, it would be nice to have another mod who also had interest and experience with maintaining a lemmy instance or any linux experience.

There's a qualified offer of help at the end of this comment.
I've held off on commenting for several reasons, but I think that what you are describing is a bigger issue than "just" your time and availability.
Speaking for myself, I'm grateful for your efforts and respect that personal investment in building a community like this is taxing in many different and unexpected ways.
This isn't made easier by the underlying platform which is a source of frustration well beyond this instance. For example, the behaw community has been discussing this for some time: https://beehaw.org/post/7776438
While I'm an experienced IT professional, have nearly four decades of software development experience and two running Linux infrastructure, I'm reluctant to stick my hand up to offer direct long term assistance.
I say that because I'm not sure if the effort required is enough to make a stable basis for our community.
I don't want to dissuade you or anyone else from building this community on top of Lemmy, but what I know of the underlying issues and developer approach does not fill me with joy.
So. What now?
Right now it appears that posts and comments are not visible. This morning I received a comment in my inbox in reply to my "missing posts" post, it shows as a +1 count in the comment counter, but I cannot read it outside my inbox, or reply to it.
Short term I think that this needs to be fixed and likely that will require the upgrade you mentioned. I'm prepared to assist with that.
Long term, I don't have the resources to commit to becoming a moderator or system administrator.
