Pre-Post Note/ Nov 2017. Although this post was written in 2011 it’s still my most popular post ever (!!), so I’m refreshing it as part of our 8th year on the road. See my updates in it…
convenient to find this community the same day i came across this blog. i’ve always been curious about living in campers or rvs, so this was a fun read
Nice, uscampgrounds.info is new to me, and looks like a pretty great resource! Added it to the "valuable external resources" post.
But yeah, largely agree with their points. I'm solo full-time in a high-roof, short wheelbase Promaster, and it honestly sometimes feels like more room than I need. Different story when my GF joins me though lol. Also, for me, part of the point of RVs/vans is to go at your own pace. Much easier to enjoy myself traveling when I'm not pressured by spending $150/day on a hotel room.
Written in 2011 and totally agreed with themselves on everything 6 years later. It would be nice to see if they had any changes they'd make in their top 10 list after 6 years of experience, rather than just agreeing with everything they'd written before.
