Gentlemen, it is with great pleasure to inform you that
5 months, 27 days old, and out of nowhere she's suddenly letting "Dadadadada"'s loose all over the place! She's not even doing any mamama's yet! I've been on cloud 9 all evening. My wife is utterly devastated.
My 15-month old loves to say Dad-deee (very long second syllable!), but absolutely refuses to say mommy. He's a complete momma's boy, but it's still driving her insane.
Our oldest said "mamama" for a good two or three months before any dada's started coming out, so my wife knows she doesn't have any reasonable ground to be annoyed about her saying "dadada" first. And that's just making her even more irritated.
We've decided we'll have to settle this with a tiebreaker baby.
Mine is turning 6 tomorrow and now it's non-stop "Dad look at me!" I both love it and can't wait to not have to drop everything to see her do something.
