Just tuning in now, good Lord this weather is atrocious.
Thanks for creating this post, btw. I tried to make a gameday thread before I went out this morning but it didn't go through in the browser. Wonder if the new Lemmy update is causing that glitch
Edit: woops, wrong account. It's so easy to get mixed up on mobile. Aaand it won't let me switch so I guess I'll be posting from here
The Arizona Bowl is so hard to watch. The barstool guys are awful commentators. This might be worse than the NBC crew that called the Notre Dame/USC game
Edit: after a few more excruciating minutes, I have decided this is by far the worst football "commentary" I have ever heard in my life
I dunno, but bowl games sometimes opt for weird rules. The color rush in the Cotton Bowl last night was really strange. The helmet communication in some of the games has been a cool thing though (hope that becomes the norm for next season)
Maryland just taking Auburn to the woodshed early in the Music City Bowl. They know it's December, right? Crabbing season is over, they have no business being this scary this time of year
I missed the kickoff of the Independence Bowl and am bummed I missed Cal scoring. Hopefully there's lots of points and the Red Raiders lose (I probably won't be staying up for the end of this one)
The Famous Toastery Bowl is a prime example of how sponsoring a bowl is ineffective marketing. I don't even know what a Toastery even is, much less a famous one. And I know, 99% of marketing is just implanting a brand in your head so when you're staring at a shelf full of different brands you'll go with the one you recognize. But again, I don't even know where to look on a shelf for famous toastery, though I assume bread isle? (I already have a preferred bread brand btw)
I don't know how I feel about the Pop Tarts mascot. It's silly and fun, but they're going to eat it at the end? Reminds me of King Cheez-It last year or when Duke's announced the mayo bath a few years back. I guess we'll see if it's endearing or creepy when it happens
Oh, UNC has a guard playing center? That explains the weird high snap earlier. Might see some more of that tonight... at least the freshman QB looks decent
Oof no Frank Harris? Man, I swear if UTSA loses this after I sat through a 2OT Michigan basketball loss to miss the first quarter of this, I will be quite irate I didn't just go to bed
I've always appreciated how inclusive the citrus bowl is. You can have oranges, tangerines, lemons, limes, grapefruits, kumquats, pomelos, The University of Tennessee, citrons, clementines...
Yeah, dude's a lanky, nimble son of a gun. I think he's the kind of runner that works best as a qb in the heup system, just kinda elusive and explosive. Obviously can't run downhill the way Joe can, more like hooker in that regard.
I'll be honest, I thought UCF was going to run away with this one. But also, I thought UCF's kicker was a lot more clutch than I guess he has been lately? Can't believe he missed the 30 yarder just before half.
I don't think I've ever seen a less attended NY6 game than this Fiesta Bowl. And from the broadcast it seems there's more Liberty fans than UO fans there
I mean if they were in the cfp they wouldn't have had as many opt outs... I fuckin hate that attitude, and the announcers are really driving home how few opt outs ga had
