exchange AFAIK isn't considered hierarchy, a trade of goods (in your example money for service) is equal
boost! used to be a reddit client but is now entirely lemmy
I love you all. I'm on the younger end of Lemmy users here and I have never faced anything that feels this life-changing. Maybe even the older users haven't, I'm not sure. Get out of this country if you can, and if you can't, organize organize ORGANIZE. We can only rely on eachother now. Work on yourself as well. We all need some intragroup love now.
at least drop the artist....... .
shit, I had the same realization lately I never thought I had dysphoria worth thinking about until I started crying the other night over it not to mention the incredible joy I feel when presenting fem, wearing a skirt on stage at a concert felt so freeing and unbelievably pleasant
tomato. tomato website. website with a tomato on it.
I'll give you my dilemma: would you rather have constant noise that is not in your control? or would you rather have constant noise in the form of music that you enjoy? thats my case in school and the case of many others in cities, where its a choice between the sound of crowds (with occasional shocking loud noises) or music you can control. one is far less stressful at the end of the day
I saw this exact sticker at my favorite venue!!! I love these!!!!!
I think these short, punchy comments do serve a purpose and are worth having, little things like that add up for people questioning their own stance etc
the one point I agree on is that these comments aren't creative: they could certainly contribute more and could also be more hopeful rather than simply angry
people being mean to this dog are just haters I think you should continue to post this image :3
man... telegram is not doing too hot lately
hope the U.S. doesn't fuck them over even more than they already have been at this point
I show people my collection of 5 blahajs
Alright, absolute noob here, I'm not particularly interested in computer science or an OS I have to obsessively research. First, how is gaming on Linux nowadays? I play a lot of games, most of which are not triple-A, so I wonder how accessible this is. Second, what distributions are accessible and still customizable? I have all kinds of peripherals I'd like to be able to use, speaker systems, midi controllers, etc.
the sensors aren't placed on desks, you can see that the displays are placed outside of bathrooms because that's where kids generally vape. my high school has sensors inside the bathrooms on the ceiling and they don't work. you're thinking of a scenario that's incredibly difficult and costly to implement, I assure you no district would be willing to hook this bullshit up to EVERY DESK. the term "Simon's desk" here is likely just a name for one of the sensors they used to test this concept, with the sensor being located at the desk of a developer named simon
their name is kittykittycatboys what else do you expect :3 meow
tbh gunshots and fireworks I'd happily live without, graffiti is nice to live with though
got really tired of the "-core" haters, they seem to get upset only at the naming convention because hardcore influences often make a subgenre even heavier
like have you ever heard of mathcore?? that shits peak, its one of the noisiest subgenres i know AND it has hardcore influence
gatekeepers can stay mad
Three Body Problem is great for if you want more world-oriented experiences than character-oriented ones. The character in focus changes often and sometimes harshly, but I feel it's in service of the plot and feels great.
Use of the word "comrade"
I see the word comrade get passed around a lot on the internet, particularly lemmy, and I've never really known the lore behind it. The only association I have with the word is that it's a word I primarily see used by tankies (as in, authoritarian leftists who hate on authoritarianism in the west but not in the east). Does anyone know and can explain it in a relatively understandable way?
