A bridge hammock is also recommended for side sleepers.
Maybe it’s because all the rich pricks that can afford a Tesla drive like ass.
Drugs. The American answer for everything. Unhappy, just take drugs. Tired, more drugs. Side effects from those drugs, we have a drug for that! Instead of fixing the underlying problem let’s keep putting bandaids on the problem until we look like the Michelin Man.
Interesting read. What differs majorly now from past collapses of civilization is the interconnection made possible with technology and the internet. Things will become less convenient, but there will probably always be someone to fill whatever void is created, baring a world wide disaster. But even then, with the technology available now, I struggle to envision a complete societal collapse. Will things change? Absolutely as it should. Is change uncomfortable ? Usually. Are we going to evolve into a Mad Max scenario? Time will tell. But I would hazard a guess of probably not.
Would be much easier than scrambling to hit the pause button anytime I see someone coming up on the trail.
Thanks! I often forget the technologies available today. I appreciate you.
Y’all act like volume adjustment isn’t a thing. Just traipsing through the forest at 100 volume. It’s totally possible to adjust the volume to a level that allows one some background ambiance while able to hear the world around you.
I will agree, open ear headphone would be nice on some trails.
Any suggest on good open ear headphones?
Unfortunately lots of people lack self awareness. I do honestly try my best to not be one of those people.
Hiking out in the backcountry of the Rocky Mountains having headphones in would be extremely unsafe. A city or busy trail absolutely, headphones all the way. Bear and predator country, 50 miles from any major form of civilization, I still want to be aware of my surroundings. I’m hiking on trails where I see maybe 10 groups of people over 3 days, and half of them are at the alpine lake or water source, not even on the trail.
I keep the volume to a reasonable personal level and pause any time people are within range. Try my best to be considerate.
I have several JBL speakers that are awesome. I listen to music and podcasts in the morning while I get ready. Bring it into the shower, carry it around the house, take it hiking. Can’t go wrong with a decent Bluetooth speaker.
Oh no, the leopards ate my face.
Sounds like you have it covered friend. I use two washcloths and tape them on the end of the ladder where it will come in contact with the wall to prevent scuffs. Set up is exactly like the exterior.
Definitely make sure that the ladder has non-stick feet or grab some non-slip material or a doormat with a non slip surface.
Ensure to test it before going too high. Always best to have a spotter.
Exactly! It is not a Time Off Request. It is a Time Off NOTIFICATION.
I have used flat and semi gloss water based poly on several dressers over 5 years ago. They have help up very well, no yellowing. I primarily use water based stains and everything turns out great. There is a slightly different technique then with oil based. Like “popping” the grain with a spritz of water and a light sanding to get rid of the “fuzz”. I believe the WoodWisperer has some really good videos on using water based finishes if memory serves correctly.
Colorado Rocky Mountains. Mostly Pike and Arapahoe national forest.
Double wall tent for the win. Totally worth the few ounces to me to have that separation and keep the sleeping kit as dry as possible. I have been using the sierra designs high route 1p this season and it’s been stellar.
