I’m not sure if this is the case on your instance but many instances are temporarily locking sign up because of bots. If there’s a place where your instance admins publish notifications, try checking there to see if they have said they are doing this

I made a comment on a kbin post via mastodon. About five minutes later I saw that same post on Lemmy. The comment was not there. Is it just federating slowly (how long does it take?) or is my understanding that mastodon and Lemmy are connected in this way incorrect?
