Hell yeah Phoenix Wright is legit
Finished the first Phoenix Wright and started on the second one. Loving this series. My favorite name encountered this week is a cop named ‘Dustin Prince’ lol
Also started Professor Layton and the Curious Village. My brain is bad at puzzles.
I had the exact same experience. I tried Tunic last year and I was like “nope, I’m not doing this to myself again.” It gave me the same feeling as Link’s Awakening as a kid.
So triggered.
I’m excited to play Octopath at some point. I’m probably going to start with the second one. Heard it was better and the stories between 1 and 2 aren’t really dependent on each other.
I started Chrono Cross on the Switch. It’s kind of janky, but the story is good so far. Combat system is cool too.
I also started Phoenix Wright on the DS. I’m loving the characters. The Samurai Case was crazy.
I actually finished Metroid Fusion this morning. It's only a 4-6 hour game, so definitely give it a try if you have any interest. I played on a Nintendo DS. It's probably my top GBA game, but Metroid Dread is my new favorite in the Metroid series for sure.
I haven't played any of the newer Dragon Quest games, so I can't really compare them. It was just alright. Kind of grindy and the story wasn't as good as I was hoping for. I don't think I'll be playing through any of the older ones any time soon, but maybe some day.
I started and finished Metroid Dread last week. It was such a joy. Definitely my favorite in the series now (previous favorite was Metroid Fusion). I’m going to revisit Metroid Fusion and then I’ll probably replay Dread on Hard.
Finished Dragon Quest V on the DS last night. I’m glad I pushed through because the late game was actually pretty fun. So cheeky having a character named Dr. Agon. Definitely made me laugh.
Hopefully they make the next version easier to hack.
I spent more time gaming this month than any other this year and finished NO games. That’s what I get for devoting equal time to three big time-suckers.
I’m nearing the final act of Dragon Quest V on the DS. Mixed feelings but overall enjoying it. Coming straight from Chrono Trigger to anything else in that era is just unfair though.
I’m taking my time with Elden Ring and loving it. I love entering a new area and getting a stunning vista to take it all in. It’s a beautiful game.
Playing Battlebit about once or twice a week with some friends. It’s perfect for my friend group.
I’m continuing my tour of Nintendo’s back catalog on the DS. I’ve been playing Dragon Quest V. I really like how you can get random monsters to join your team. It’s the first Dragon Quest game I’ve ever played.
I’d be curious to see the numbers. Has it made an impact? Even the blackout had a pretty minor temporary drop in activity.
It has been nice to watch this place grow. Hopefully Reddit’s continued missteps continue to guide people here.
The author of the video in the comments saying it took over 100 revisions to get this video through without it getting blocked worldwide. Never change Nintendo.
I honestly was shocked by how well it has held up. If you had told me this was like an indie game released this year I would have believed it.
I think my highlights were the trial (when I realized the game was keeping track of what I was doing) and the Robo/Fiona mission. I really liked the side-missions as well.
Oh hey, I just finished Chrono Trigger for the first time on Saturday! I bought a DSi on eBay and this was one of the games I wanted to play the most on it. Cheers!
The big difference with Reddit -> Lemmy and Twitter is there’s way less reliance on specific accounts migrating.
If it’s going to be just as gnarly as sharing a Facebook link outside of Facebook, then I’ll bet people are just going to share Twitter links less often.
Probs going to get Elden Ring finally. I have a lot of good games to play through this summer.
I should pretend to be a tourist here for a weekend. There are still a few things that come up in these threads that I’ve never done.
My personal favorites all involve the parks. Especially during the nice parts of the year. Walk Discovery Park or Green Lake. Rent a paddle board or kayak and cruise around Lake Union. Go to a Mariners game.
Those are a few of my favorites.
Yep, I’ve had similar experiences with handhelds even for games that I own. I could play Metroid Fusion on my SP and get cramps in both of my hands trying to hold it.
Or I could just find a way to run it on the DSi.
You’re going to run into video game preservation issues with or without physical media. I’ve been playing through the GBA/DS catalog and some of the games are selling at prohibitively high prices. Not that I needed a lot of nudging to find another way to play the games…
