It doesn’t look that good that’s why, only got Xbox games pass this week myself too
Did you purge the bot accounts @tom@feddit.uk ? Can see a material decrease which is actually good
Still open to interest, as I have started a new contract so less time to look at feddit rn
How much you guys paying in the UK? About a tenner for 1.5g?
I once made some of my old edibles with already vaped bud, thinking it would be weak, I ate a brownie and waited and it didn’t do anything, so I ate a couple more, nothing happened so I went to bed as I had work the next day.
When I woke up, I had never been so stoned in my entire life, but because I just woke up I wasn’t sure if it would wear off so I still biked it to work. Lol I had to count stock all day that day and I realised about 4 hours in that I was basically incapable of counting and was starting to get paranoid due to being so high without knowing how long it would take to wear off. So I asked could I leave and was sick.
I have swore off edibles myself after that
Will do. I’m still learning this so may be the best way for now
Who cares about downvotes? 🙃
Preach it brother!
Couldn’t find it in my package manager, also running Oracle Server OS 8.8 which doesn’t help, it’s a fork of RedHat, so meant to be the “new “ Centos. I.E a Redhat clone. But I keep running into odd issues with it.
Worth to keep trying at it though.
I may have to download with a wget instead, I’ll see what I can find.
How do I emulate x86 on an aarch64 cpu?
Running a 24GB 4 OCPU Always Free Oracle VM Instance, the catch is that it uses Arm 64bit processors and iv already ran into issues with standing up docker containers from some GitHub repos, due to incompatibility.
I am hoping there is a easyish way to emulate x86 so I can work with what I need to as seamlessly as possible. It’s quite a powerful server for FREE, if I can get the emulation working I don’t really care about the extra overheads.
Don’t understand how people can still use Reddit and ignore all the ickiness.
Damn straight
Ah ok, I’ll have a research over the weekend see what’s what on that. Probably right though. I’ll leave it in place for now till we get a definite answer, but also you could always join us here at feddit.uk 🙂no pressure though
In the words of Emperor Palpatine, “Goood… Goood”
Update: well actually when I think about it, I’m not sure who is worse Putin or the Wagner leader.
If Putin lost here, and the Wagner mercenaries are emboldened, the outcome might be worse. Least we know Putin is full of shit. We don’t know that about this other guy
No shit, Sherlock Wagner Boss
Someone’s getting novichocked
Hope she had a poop knife
You paying him or something? The guy is volunteering so be respectful
Mine 5 yr fix ends in early 2027, I think if rates are still high I’ll only fix for 2 years next time, it’s a dice roll but I think eventually we will stabilise around 3-3.5% base rate
My employers office is in London, I visit a few times a month and the rest of the time I work at home in the northwest. Really hit the jackpot of jobs for myself. 1hr 47mins to London on the west coast mainline. When I visit I can get the 6.30am train and be at the office before 9

I frequently travel to London and back. I recently discovered Avanti superfares, I’m too old for any railcards so for me this is godsend to save money on.

I smashed the squirty lid of my Heinz Tomato Ketchup bottle.
And now I have to serve it in dollops, you know what, it’s better like that.
Feddit.uk is shaping up to be a UK version of Reddit. With most UK subs in one place.
I actually really enjoy this, it’s really cool to login each day and only see UK specific content in a similar style of the subreddits of old, and with most of the features of Reddit. Previously I had to have them with a multi reddit, but my home page was full of world wide content.
I like that due to federation I can still look at content from around the world but it’s not my default experience. Feels more personalised.

PSA: New users of feddit.uk - if you notice slowness please bear with the instance.
I have noticed recent slowness on this instance today, it wasn’t like this previously, the server is under heavy load, which makes sense because right now, we are gaining 100 new users or more each hour.
Please bear with the instance, it’s totally worth sticking around. Lemmy is the future and is going through some growing pains but will equalise over time.

Update: found this post https://lemmy.world/post/305667
The user count may not be genuine users and I feel that Lemmy instances might be under a type of DDOS attack
UPDATE: Captcha and Email Verfication Enabled. Potential Spam User Attack - Feddit.uk - Registered user count increasing fast
Early last week it was ~600 registered users, then last Friday ~700-800, 5 hours ago it was ~2.8k and now its 3.1k
Update: It has come to my attention that Lemmy is under a spam user registration attack. Feddit.uk is not the only instance affected.
https://lemmy.cat/post/6401
Side note: Starting to notice some instance server load issues here. Not as snappy as it was due to the influx of new spam users.
Update 20th June: Tom has now enabled captcha and email verification on feddit.uk
Don’t forget to check the sidebar out on the feddit.uk homepage and donate to @tom@feddit.uk to assist with server upkeep and hopefully more server resource.
Is there a way to get a full list of an instances user’s usernames?
Would help with a project I’m developing. Only need the usernames.

Looking to bring in extra mods as content grows.

I am expecting an influx of users after July 1st. Right now there is not a high amount of content to deal with, so I am winging it.
I need assistance with drawing up rules and governing the community. If you moderated a similar sub on Reddit prior to the exodus please message me.

Generative AI is disrupting its own investment case
cross-posted from: https://lemmy.ml/post/1276972
> Snippet from the article: > > But some investors argue that the big tech companies’ generative AI models will not necessarily capture most value because they are becoming increasingly commoditised and may be outcompeted by smaller open-source models. More money may be made by companies that have proprietary data in a particular industry and can leverage generative AI models to address specific use cases. “That is our investment strategy,” says Hemant Taneja, chief executive of the VC firm General Catalyst. > > But VCs are also anxiously reviewing the valuations of their existing investment portfolios, given the disruptive impact it will have on all software businesses. Over the past few weeks, three start-up founders have told me they have had to junk their original business plans because of the launch this year of OpenAI’s more powerful GPT-4 model, rendering their use of earlier versions obsolete. Such is the speed of the technology’s evolution that start-ups and VCs are wary of betting too much on any one generative AI model for fear it will soon seem archaic.
LPT - Change your default viewing to “subscribed” so your defaulted view is showing more subs than just your local instances.
Lemmy Pro Tip
You can find your default views within your profile settings.
Doing this will give you a more reddit like experience.
Lemmy Devs - Why do the upvote and downvote numbers for a post change in front of my eyes when viewing a post?
Buggy looking behaviour observed, when I view a post on another instance or make a post on another instance then go back to viewing it, in front of my eyes, I can see massive disparities in the amount of upvotes and downvotes. Talking a post showing 600 upvotes then a few seconds later, 5 upvotes, then 40 etc
