Thoughts on Aussie PM Gough Whitlam

I heard that he was ousted by the CIA after not supporting the Vietnam war, is there anything else to him though?

  • I doubt it would be very easy to get out given how desperate the Ukrainians are for soldiers

  • I doubt Russia will lose, general consensus in the West is that US caused the chain of events, and the elites are slowly losing interest in Ukraine after pumping with with billions with no 'results' to show for itself.

  • I noticed this as well, usually they reply with something along the lines of 'Worlds gonna keep spinning, nothing you can do'. Usually I try to see how the system affects them negatively day-to-day (e.g job hate, student debt), then expand from there.

  • Stalin wasn’t a ‘Stalinist’ he was a Marxist-Leninist by word and action, most famous gulag prisoner Alexander Solzhenitsyn received treatment for cancer whilst in it, and vast majority returned alive. I don’t see how this is different to any other prison system in the world, just another piece of over-exaggerated Cold War propaganda for Western audiences.

I do agree this exchange is pointless, have a good rest of your day

    1. Stalinism doesn’t exist, there is only Marxism-Leninism
    2. Many pro-market reformers were non-partisans, although some were in the CPSU

  • I wonder why communist leaders are some of the most popular leaders in their former socialist republics 🧐🧐

  • I doubt you have ever spoken to a Romanian about Ceausescu, nowadays Romania has a massive emigration and unemployment issue, with highly corrupt, bureaucratic parties subversant to Western interests, with none of the social security benefits socialism offered.

  • Very democratic, a military coup under direct orders from the State Department overthrowing socialism in Romania and killing/imprisoning former Communist Party members
