I still have a bulk of those CD’s (not the boxes anymore). I keep them in a binder with the CD holder sleeves. Same for my drivers, and operating systems. I have disks of going back to NT, 95b, and 98. I only started in to PC’ in 1998/9. I wish i had my original Voodoo3 driver disk. I remember buying that card in my way back from school one afternoon. I was so excited to install it.
I was skeptical of Steam when it launched as well. It has proven to be a good service.
Not alone there. Still humpin a couple systems with those. Still runs SWBF2 so im good
This just feeds into my fear that the current internet is going to die at the hands of corpos. As a result, my paranoid ass has been buying up modems in the event we need to start from scratch.
Green is more like proceed with caution. At least thats how it feels lately.
Early Cuyler BABY!
Will my lactose intolerance finally pay off?
<gazes up from my Book of The Yellow God> ahh, i love non-euclidian architecture.

That, and my old gameboy
Dead kennedys:
I looked into similar data from the NHTSA regarding accidents during lock down on the hypothesis the insurance companies would have an interest in WFH. I was stunned to see accidents did not decrease. Anecdotally i was working in field service during this period, and observed what seemed like less traffic, and yet the data disagreed with my impressions during the time.
Man, i still want that screwdriver elwood used in the elevator.
Dat shifting do
Been working on my speed shifting. Damn it feels good when you hit the rpms right and you hop the GB up and dont lose momentum.

fun with the GS
Weeeelll, i installed some new side markers on the GS this weekend. Pulled the badges, mounted everything, wired it up, and test good. Decide Saturday gonna wash the bike. Hit it with the hose, wash it up, hit it with the armor all, leather conditioner, etc. fire it up, and it wont idle. Long story short, tracked it to the TPS harness from the Power Commander. When i had the clutch done at the dealer, they seemed to have caught the harness in the clamp ring of the throttle body. A little water on the wire and no more workey right. Pulled the clamp and harness. Soldered a splice in and back up and running. I was freaking out though for sure saturday morning.
info on the new 1300gs
2024 BMW R 1300 GS First Look: The granddaddy of adventure bikes and the flagship from Germany is all-new from motor to chassis.
BMW ICE stop-sell in US
BMW Motorrad dealers in the US are reporting a non-safety-related stop sale on all new and used gas-powered BMW motorcycles currently in their inventory.
At least it isnt safety related. Based on the article it seems to be emissions.
fun with ignition coils
Lost my second primary coil within a year. May have to go OEM instead of ebay.
caught another GS on my way to work
Stopped to get coffe on my way to work, as usual. Caught a guy i have ran i to a couple times, though he is usually trailering in his bike so he can ride home. It was a treat to see him riding in this morning :)
out and about in the southwest
Got out this weekend for breakfast. Stuck behind skme trucks the whole way, but meh.
high performance/temp brake fluid
Ok, its been 110 plus for awhile in my area. My bike is parked outside, in shade, but still warm by the time i start home. I have noticed my front brake is softer after the approximate 30 mins on the highway. I started to look into high temp brake fluid, and came across motul 700 (i attached wrong image, i absolutely mean 700. Not 600 or 660.) I am thinking of dumping that in when i do my next oil change. Does anyone else have experience with higher temp brake fluids? Kinda curious if it will work better in the summer and winter.
got out for a few hours in the heat :)
Blazing hot here, but got out early for a nice little ride to a breakfast place a couple hours from home.
Suggested Retailers
Its been a couple years on my GS now, and I have found i tend to shop a couple retailers for parts, etc. Excluding big box stores, like revzilla/cyclegear, i am curious where people shop around the world.
Stateside, i usually check out the following:
Beemerboneyard Used parts and maint items
Sierra Bikes They still have a few parts my older bikes like mine
Max BMW Parts. Great parts dept too. I have spoke with them on parts for my bike a few times.
Sw Motech Accessories
Touratech Accessories
I will lookup parts on the motorrad site, and search elsewhere, but have had to order from there before.
I would love to know other places people go to for parts/accessories!
