If you are serious... Pay them a regular living wage... Remove the whole caveat that waiting staff is somehow different from any other job.

Fairly certain you can no longer talk to a merchant now with one character and them rob them blind with another. Bummer
Edit: not sure what happened, but tried a different merchant and it worked. I couldn't do it at the grove blacksmith guy after the patch, but I could before.
You don't hear a good bloodhound gang reference often.
They are definitely a unique sound. I love them. If you know of a band just like them, let me know... I would love more. :)
Great song, totally forgot about this video... almost like I watched it for the first time again.

- New York and Philly, Chicago, Fort Wayne and Indianapolis.
Not sure which was worse. New York has a hard curfew and Chicago seemed to lack excitement, which made them play a little less... I think.
It was really just a target of opportunity. More of a "once in a lifetime thing". Their "we don't have a set list" schtick was a little disappointing when I realized they played the same 90 percent every show. Was hoping for a more unique show each time.
Was there as well, definitely one of their best on this tour.
Are you a fan of the "Vibraslap"

I think it's alright, but my lord do the fans go crazy for it when he hits it on stage. I would rate it fairly low on what makes CAKE sound the way they do.
I really wish CAKE forest would allow anyone to add a tree
The map is so small/unused. It would be awesome if they had like a plaque or something they sold (to maybe raise funding for a cause) that you could put on your tree (maybe even serialize them) and you send your photos/updates in.
Mainly just wish I got a tree from their concert. =)
Remember the 15th time there was hopes of a new album...

It's pretty entertaining just by itself.
posterstore.cakemusic.com does NOT sell the 'same' posters as on tour
Was trying to "fix" the foil being messed up from the one I bought... the poster website ones are not only on thinner paper, but nothing is metallic like the tour posters... so hopefully I can save someone 30 bucks.
However, the posters are nice quality, but not the same as the tour versions.
Loved that they played Pentagram on their recent tour. Really great song that I thought might not be played due to content... like playing "I bombed Korea"
CAKE - Comfort Eagle (Translucent Green Vinyl) Pre-Order
I hate how I found out about these through just randomly going to the store, but saw it this morning.

It's funny as CAKE seems to be one of the few bands I can think of that I truly feel I like just about every single one of their songs. Choosing a favorite is a bit like pulling a name out of a hat, but you just get slightly more excited about a few of them.
It's funny you say that. I would say the same, but for probably 10 plus years, short skirt long jacket was an instant skip for me.. I don't know if it was due to being played so much or what... But I always loved the distance. Probably nostalgia held it together.
My wife and I love that song too. One of my favorite songs to play for her on the guitar. Right up there with Mexico.
MOST favorite CAKE song?
Again, hard to choose, but I think stick shifts and safety belts... it's such a good well rounded song that I always enjoy listening to.
I enjoyed the live shows. I can understand how some may not though. I have tickets to see them again, so... Yeah. I especially like it because it's just them.
I have seen them 3 times, 2019 and 2023. I really liked them all. Their stage presence isn't all that amazing though. It's essentially like going to a polished bar band... with a singer that often sings completely outside of the rhythm/bar at nearly every start.
Regardless, I will forever love their music. I may stop going to their shows if they go too far down hill. Right now, I have a theory he gets fairly drunk back stage and he sings so slow due to being a bit too drunk... but I have no proof. =)
LEAST favorite CAKE song?
It's so hard, but I think cool blue reasons... Almost anything recorded live, but I don't count that. I don't particularly like any live recordings.
I'm trying to make it happen. I had bought a domain (cake.army) and was hosting an instance... but then I went on vacation for a couple weeks and it crashed due to lack of space... so I said screw that and just started another here on lemmy.world
I was trying to post once every day just to make sure people saw it was actually active... or at least one person was posting stuff.
I found out about every vinyl for sale, new shirts... even the damn concert by using /r/cakeband... I need that still. Even if that means I am the one constantly checking the website for new info.
Bootleg shirt from Philly
Didn't realize until the following day it says "and" evening with cake. I love it.
I totally would have bought a legit one... But they only sold shirts you can get from there website for 10 bucks cheaper... So, now I have a poster and a bootleg shirt!
Cake "Poster" section is showing a lot of posters (including one future one in Indiana)
I have checked a bunch of different times and the whole section was blank. I am not sure how often this is populated. They are selling the most recent shows poster and then looks like a specific one just for Indianapolis.
Just saw them in New York and Philly... can confirm. =)
Sadly, cake.army is no longer... sorry for the few dozen who signed up
I was on vacation and my instance went into an error mode, from what seems like a full hard drive... so I realized I don't have the time to maintain it... nor the money to pay for an exponentially growing VM requirement... but this should work.
Hope some more folks show up from the old reddit community.
