Request for an off-site status communication method and more admins to help run the site & communicate with users

@ernest, we love you man, and we're grateful for the service you provide. But this site has needs that can't be met by one person: community mod approval, emergency status communication, spam management, and account management are just a few that immediately come to mind.

I know it has been rough lately, and I sincerely empathize. Internet hug You have a community of loyal people willing to help shoulder the burden if you let them, so please...if you truly want this place to be successful, let us help you. Hope you are okay, man.

Why I left Startrek.website, created TenForward, and the admin abuse I've suffered from ST.W since then
  • I just realized I commented in one of your crossposted posts, not here. I was just kidding around about the pizza, then I saw something else you posted...ok for real, man, have you not been eating?

  • Why I left Startrek.website, created TenForward, and the admin abuse I've suffered from ST.W since then
  • Yeah, it's just so petty. Like, following someone across the internet and harassing them over a frickin internet forum is just sad. Unhinged mostly, but also really sad. You gonna be all right, we got your back, man! Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

  • Why I left Startrek.website, created TenForward, and the admin abuse I've suffered from ST.W since then
  • Lol I'm in one of those screenshots. I'm flattered a mod from another instance felt they had to report me, but tbh I'm not at all surprised it was a former mod from r/startrek. Those subreddit mods were always a bit baggy, which is why I avoided that subreddit for a majority of the 15 years I was there. D-bag central.

First place I check is BTs profile to see if he’s cooled off at all. No.

I take back what I said. He's an insufferable duck.

We explicitly decided to not call out Risa by name or USS Burrito Truck.

I noticed that, and I think it was a smart, classy idea. Well, I guess they're not the reciprocating kind, so fuck'em. I'm sorry they keep harassing you, the amount of energy they're expending on you is ridiculous.

  • I have but perhaps I should have phrased my title better. 99% of all songs by females are about relationships stuff and I think when it’s about eccentric stuff some guy in the band wrote the song. So, a few examples here and there does not invalidate my point. Most songs by females are about relationships.

lmao you forgot to sign out of your alt account, OP

Minneapolis mayor calls remote workers ‘losers’ who sit at home with a ‘nasty cat blanket, diddling on their laptop’
  • You're 100% correct, and it's kinda sad, really... for so many members of a generation to be so consistently and relentlessly stupid toxic that its name becomes synonymous with "douchebag." What a fuckin accomplishment.

  • How are you watching the the Super Bowl
  • Not watching, I cut the cord to avoid commercials. But OTA + antenna , as others said, is a solid way to watch network content for free if you can get a good signal.

  • Data and Daughter
  • I did not know he wrote the Sanford & Son theme song! Just looked it up. Good pop culture trivia, thanks for dropping that.

  • Data and Daughter
  • Lol now I got that theme song stuck in my head

  • Futile (Nazi Bastard) | 1996 | Electro-Industrial
  • Oh I intended to post this in tenforward, it just didn't land. There was a trend for a hot minute of trek-themed music being posted, so I thought I'd share an old industrial track from back in the day that featured a few TNG-era Borg samples (and other stuff that I think may have muddied the waters). No biggie lol

Everest Climbers To Bring Poop Down With Them As Mountain Starts To Stink
  • How much frozen human shit has that mountain accumulated since people started climbing it for fun? Can somebody do the math on that? I feel like it has potential for a really shitty trivia question. Like, for Shitty Jeopardy! or something. JFC, I am baked.

@FlyingSquid omg I didn't realize it was your post. Hi! Ok I'm gonna put the bowl down

  • New Nightmare (1994) ⭐ 6.4 | Fantasy, Horror, Mystery

Originally released as Wes Craven's New Nightmare in 1994, this movie was sort of a warmup in meta horror before Craven directed Scream two years later. It's arguably the best of the seven A Nightmare on Elm Street sequels and assumes a more serious, darker tone. If you're looking for that cheese established in the sequels (which Craven didn't direct, by the way), it ain't here.

imdb synopsis: "A profile of an ancient city and its unique people, seen through the eyes of the most mysterious and beloved animal humans have ever known, the Cat."

    Streaming availability: https://www.justwatch.com/us/movie/kedi

It's a nice low key documentary about cats and their effect on the residents of Istanbul. It's really well shot, and it goes without saying cat owners would find it most interesting. You don't have to be a cat person to appreciate it, though. Yeah, it's a fascinating take on Istanbul urban life, with little slice of life stories here and there. Also, cats!

Slow burn western set in the Edwardian Era (1906), best if you avoid the imdb synopsis and any potential spoiler sources and go in blind.

Klingon Opera comic book cover rendered in Rob Liefeld's style (AI generated)

Tried to get AI to generate a decent one in the style of Rob Liefeld (early 90s, specifically). Out of hundreds of generated images that were a varied combination of gory, gay, NSFW, and surreal, I think this one is as good as it's gonna get. Man, it is really hard to generate sloppy, hastily-drawn comic book art, ChatGPT4 & Dall-E kept making everything look crisp as though McFarlane or Lee drew it.

I did this on and off for about a month. Weird to do in your spare time. Anyway, I uploaded a few highlights to this album if anyone's interested: https://postimg.cc/gallery/Rq8CBys

Omfg, there you guys are! I have been not so active on the lemverse lately and thought I noticed Risa getting quieter and quieter til it basically stopped...holy shit, you guys migrated! And to a completely different instance, even! What balls (and ovaries)! High fives all around!
