For the average household I think tracking your energy and gas consumption is most useful as it allows you to spot accidental wasteful usage and both save money and the environment :)
A fun experiment I did recently was to measure the speed of sound with my oscilloscope. I wired up a speaker and a microphone at a known distance from each other, connected the oscilloscope to both sides and measured how long it took between sound trigger & reception. I came within several meters/second accuracy which I think is a nice result for a basic home lab setup.
I also track a lot of metrics around the house using Home Assistant. Temperature, humidity, power usage, light levels, heating, but also stuff like total meters of filament used, total objects printed, system metrics. I like statistics and it's fun to compare months/years and clearly see the results of improved isolation for example.
I've been running Proxmox with LXC containers for years and it has been super stable and convenient!
Congrats on the almost-3-years! Been there and it's good to keep celebrating the achievements imho :) I have a mini celebration each year to reflect on all that's happened since I stopped doing drugs and it's only for the better, even though the craving never fully goes away for me.
Nothing in the changelog regarding a fix for bricking pixel 6 devices with the Android 15 update... Awesome stuff Google!
Hey thanks for the response! Glad to hear it :) definitely agree about the puzzles being spoiled by Aloy, really weird how they implemented that without even an option to turn it off. I also thought it was strange how she gladly risks her life with the amount of stuff she's trying to handle already, but it does make for a more interesting game I think. Overall the side quests are a bit more interesting and fleshed out than in zero dawn. Also the stash is a really welcome addition compared to the first one.
I think we play in a similar way, at least on a first playthrough I play like that. I also play the game without fast travel but that's not for everyone :) hope you make it to the end! It definitely has me excited for Horizon 3.
I got the Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster last week as well, it's really well done for a remaster and I'm enjoying a full new playthrough. On the way to Meridian now.
Well said! And now on PS5 it plays so great at a smooth 60 fps, amazing stuff. I frequently start the game just to wander around and fight the machines. At ultra hard it can still be quite challenging even after all these hours.
The remaster seems to be really well done as well according to early reviews, so looking forward to putting even more hours into it :-) hope they made the inventory management better as that is basically my only issue with the original.
I do agree the first has the better vibe and story but I think you'd still enjoy finishing Forbidden West and the Burning Shores DLC. The ending was interesting and if you stopped halfway through you might not even have seen some of the new enemies yet! How far did you get?
Horizon Zero Dawn is my all time favorite game (a remastered version is coming out next week so might be a great time to jump in). Celeste is a 2D platformer and also really great. Been having fun with Zelda ToTK and Astrobot as well.
It means "I am not a lawyer", usually at least ;-)
Half-Life 3
You could finally visit the only real Legoland in Billund of course!
You could also see it as you preventing someone else from learning from their own mistakes. Maybe reframing it like that could help with skipping :)
I believe that's their usual release process.
Linux Genuine Advantage
It's in America so yes.
The only PSVR2 game I bought that I really regret buying. Super lame "game" except maybe if you're a diehard kayak fan or something.
Exactly, it's why I don't buy Logitech anymore!
Strongly disagree, I think it's very useful to accept your own addictive tendencies so you can stay mindful of the risks, but as with most of these things it's probably personal. Use what works for you.
Sorry if I misunderstood your comment, it seemed like a metaphor for social media but perhaps I assumed too much. My bad!
You know you don't have to doomscroll social media right? You can just, you know, not do social media.
Synth Riders - missing overview feature of tracks played at X difficulty?
Am I missing something or is it not possible to view all tracks you completed at a certain difficulty level? I would like to complete all songs on expert but it's pretty difficult to get that information. The highest score shown when you select a track is sometimes from a lower difficulty than the highest difficulty I completed the track in. The only way to be certain (as far as I know) is by checking the leaderboards panel next to the song info, which wouldn't be so annoying if it would default to the second tab (self instead of global).
Am I missing something or is it just really annoying to get info like this?
I also think the playlist feature is extremely unintuitieve to use. Why isn't there an 'add to playlist' button when you complete the song for example. I love the game but feel like the UI could be polished a bit more.
Option to "Mark as read when image viewed" instead of comments viewed would be useful
Hello! Really like the Connect app and the development speed is very impressive. A minor thing I'm missing is related to marking posts as read. When you just click the thumbnail image and view the image, I would like if the post is marked as read. For examples with memes and such it's usually not neccesary to read the comments but the list view keeps showing it as an unread post, making it harder to keep track. Perhaps this could be added some time in a future update?
Either way great work on the app. Thanks!
EDIT: seems this was added in the current beta version, awesome!
