ERROR incorrect_login but only on my PC?
I got on my PC today and noticed that yiffit, my homepage, won't log me in and just keeps giving this red banner popup in the left corner that says "error incorrect_login."
I know it's not my login/password combo; I am able to use Jerboa and Firefox on my phone to log in and do stuff (that's how I am writing this post!) but on my computer it won't let me in! Cleared the history, cache, saved info, etc and it just keeps giving me this damn error even when I try to open the login page to make sure it's trying the right info.
The main page itself just gives me the standard "server issue" error that I assume is Lemmy's default error page when it can't reach the server. But again, I am only getting this problem on my PC; my other devices allow me to browse and post just fine, so I have no idea what the heck is going on here. Is it my end or the server?

Weird behavior with youtube links
Has anybody noticed weird behavior with links to youtube? Specifically, instead of the video description, I just see some German text, which translation says is a boilerplate of what youtube is. From yiffit, no image and german text, from pawb, image and accurate description. . This looks like a recent change, everything older than about 2 days ago looks fine.
This is observed from the default desktop website.
Edit: Based on the comment from @Pronell@lemmy.world I would guess youtube made a recent change and the language is generated based on where the lemmy instance is hosted.
Next day edit (July 21): Whatever was causing has reverted. Videos posted the affected days are still messed up, but new posts look like they're working like they used to.
Edit: later in the day. Whatever it is is back.

Closing Registrations. Reflecting on viability of continuation of Yiffit
Hello, Unfortunately I am not able to take care of Yiffit as it deserves. Unfortunately, having been blocked by lemmy.ml, Yiffit is not a good instance to explore the lemmyverse because it is restricted. At the same time, I feel like there's countles off other sites where Yiff can be found in a better way.
I have closed registrations for the time being as I gather feedback and collect my thoughts.

General inbound federation question
@Wander@yiffit.net is everything working as expected for inbound federation? casual conversations moved from lemmy.world to lemm.ee I don't see any comments or votes in the lemm.ee community from before yiffit was aware of its existence. I think I've seen this other places too, so I don't know if this is how its supposed to work, or its just a quark of the current code. In general federation to lemmynsfw is just broken here.

Yiffit has been upgraded to Lemmy 19.2 (you can now disable blur in your personal user settings)
Was more painless than I thought. There's also 19.3, but that requires a pict-rs config upgrade and I'll leave that for another day.

Are there federation problems with Hexbear or did they stop moderating with Yiffit?
I really only follow one Hexbear community here in Yiffit which is !libre@hexbear.net, but I just noticed that since 4 months ago there are no updates in c/libre here in Yiffit, although if you go to the community directly from Hexbear there are new recent posts, and a lot of them.
I already checked the instances blocked by Hexbear and Yiffit doesn't seem to be among them, but neither in "allowed" or "linked" instances, although I have no idea what it's the difference between these.
Any idea why this could be?

Federation issues with lemmy.ml
I'm not sure if this is a problem specifically with linux@lemmy.ml because I don't follow any other lemmy.ml communities, but it's been a month since the last post in there according to the Yiffit version of the community and yes, I'm filtering by new and if you go directly to the community in its instance there are a lot of new posts that never reach Yiffit.
I have another account in Dbzer0 and there are no federation issues with Lemmy.ml or at least with linux@lemmy.ml.

I don't seem to see anything from lemmynsfw.com newer than about 3 days, and I don't see yiffit on their block list.

Questions about Threads and Lemmy v0.19
- Is Yiffit going to defederate from Threads? I kinda wanna see what happens with it first before someone else decides to block it, and this is my primary instance so I'm curious what the admins think and plan to do.
- Are y'all gonna be updating to 0.19 soon? No particular reason other than curiosity on that and I am using Liftoff so I'll have to switch apps when ya do lol

Members can now create communities without need for approval first
I have enabled once again the possibility of creating communities without the need of prior approval. Any Yiffit user is now able to create their community.
Since things have slowed down considerable and I'm introducing new automated tools such as the Yiffit helper bot, it's now possible for me to put in place some safeguards and allow community creation without the need for approval.

Pending Tasks by Yiffit administration
For the sake of transparency, I'm sharing a list of pending tasks that I know are pending. Hopefully this will also let you know that I'm aware of it and will progressively take them on.

Currently the helper bot does not post if it can only find an e621 result, even if that e6 post has sources.

Make a statement regarding the removal of the Pokeyiff community, but to sum it up, it is unfortunate that its creator decided to delete it, but I don't think it would be right for me to meddle with their decision as I want community owners truly feel that a community is theirs, even if that means deleting it.

The Yiffit Helper bot is now live!
Hello, after a few test posts yesterday, the new Yiffit Helper bot is now live. You can see a couple of examples here:

The goal of the bot is to boost our appreciation for the work that artists do by linking directly to their gallery and post-submission. This is especially useful for little known artists who will appreciate if you follow them, favorite their image, or check out their gallery.
Please note: the bot only runs in communities where @Wander is a moderador. If you'd like to enable the bot in your own community, leave a comment here or send me a PM with the name of your community. You're free to choose whether to enable the bot or not.
Also, aside for the test runs that I've been doing, the bot will not comment on old posts to avoid notification flood. Instead it's set to now run every 30 minutes for new submissions.
If the bot fails to make a comment for your post, it probably means that it couldn't find a good match. It's not a perfect solution that will always work, but hopefully it will work as much as possible.
