How’s this app now?

How’s this app nowadays? Still usable and in development?

Community seems not really alive unfortunately, saw the last post was from 2 months ago.

  • Still same build from forever ago. Top apps now are voyager/arctic/thunder. Web apps like photon/lemmynade/alexandrite right behind.

    • Ohh that’s unfortunate, was curious whether it would be worth trying the premium out for 2 euro.

Yeah, currently using Voyager which works like charm. However Avelon has the groups things and from what I can remember easier search for the top communities.

I’m surprised the Avelon app has not been more developed (or at least maintained) while the person charges €30 for life time.

      • Yeah. I purchased the lifetime as I loved where it was headed. Same for Bean. Not sure of any others with groups/multireddit type features but lemmynades community search is pretty nice.

A workaround for groups could be multi accounts in voyager and just long press on the center tab for quick switching.

      • Mlem’s community search is pretty slick too.

      • I do hope they are okay. I don’t think they are the type of person to charge a premium amount for lifetime (which was controversial at the time) and then stop development. They seemed honest, so I am concerned that something has happened.

  • Development seems to have stopped and I started noticing a bunch of bugs. It was the best lemmy app IMO. But now it’s just average. I’ve switched to Artic which has more features and not buggy.

  • It’s a shame. I did pay for lifetime, and that’s always a risk. Looks like this bet didn’t pay off. The money doesn’t bother me - more the fact that there isn’t a portrait-only Lemmy app that’s a good replacement. If anyone knows of one that’s as good and will stay in portrait without having to put the whole phone in portrait lock, please let me know…
