This. All these systems for how to design a base efficiently (like a well stuctured main bus or city blocks) end up making the base look boring and samey imo.

I wish that I could build spaghetti bases, they look way better than a main bus. Sadly if I try to do it I'll eventually get pissed at the disorder, and the "goddammit I need to pull a belt from A to B but I bloody can't because everything is a mess here" following it.
I always start by building a main bus, then, well, engines are already produced here, so I might as well and oh look, I already have a supply of iron here, so there's no reason to not aaaaand the spag strikes again
