100 years ago today, Paul Desmond, an American jazz alto saxophonist, was born.

For anyone wondering who he is, "Take 5" is probably the most well-known song he's performed (along with the rest of the quartet), it was incredibly popular when it was released. The entire album was a smash at the time, even for being a jazz group.
