For those who can't watch the video, what's its reasoning for why managers exist?

In the past it was to shift the blame from the boss to the manager so the working class wouldn't blame those at the top but the middle man. And present day it's an even more useless role where people are pressured to overwork themselves just to keep their job and this allows the companies to avoid paying overtime.
