Sure, if I buy a Mickey Mouse plush from Disney, Disney still owns Mickey Mouse (it's Steamboat Willie that expired), but I certainly own that individual Mickey Mouse plush and Disney can't kick in my door or put a lien on my house to retrieve it. Similarly, if I download an .mp3 of Banana Boat the estate of Harry Belafonte still owns the rights to the song, but I own that copy of that song and they can't kick in my laptop or put a lien on my graphics card (I hate that I have to mention this, but I know that's not what these companies do and I have made what is called a "joke" in some circles, likening it to physical repo guys repoing files, see.)
No it's about "you will be whole assing it for a few days but you'll be half assing it again in no time."
I'm out of town this week unfortunately so I'll be late to the store, hope I don't miss these, I'll have to check em out if I can! Fish mafia sounds right up my ally!
Thankfully the family tankie does seem to have grown out of it by now, but they're out there in other families, your experiences don't define everyone else's.
But again all of this is besides the point, your claim that "there's only one group" is factually incorrect.
Bye indeed.
My point wasn't that tankies are more numerous than racists, my point was that "only one group" is not accurate, being that there are "at least two groups."
Furthermore, being a murderous dickhole is only a problem in sufficient numbers? Well by your logic I guess we don't have to worry about the KKK then, there's about 3k of them, which without checking I'm betting is less than grad+bear+ml users.
Sorry, I can't subscribe to that, murderous dickheads and their ideologies are bad be they one or one billion.
Fair enough.
Is it the tankies? I see them talk about killing people a lot, last time I mentioned it cowbee or whatever his name is (he'll comment under this with enough time I swear he uploaded his consciousness to lemmy) basically just said "well yeah, they deserve it," they aren't even trying to hide it anymore. And by their standards, many of us on lemmy are "liberal" enough to be considered by the tankies to be nazis, who they say they want to kill, meaning they want to kill many of us (possibly you included, if you're not a hardline Marxist-Leninist, i.e "left enough to live for now").
OH you meant racists. Well then, no there's two groups. My mind went to tankies because we're on lemmy so surely you haven't missed those. OH .ml, I see..
Ah shame, oh well!
I just want the butthole cut.
I collect comics, which are (printed, yes, but) art made by people. Sometimes I'll sell off a run, some I'll keep forever because they're fantastic. Different strokes ig.
Shit if you have enough off cuts after a table, matching coasters for that table is always the best move. Baller as fuck.
I don't like it, but that's because it's usually the faster but inferior quality option, bread/bun gets hard, sometimes uneven heating, some things get slimy, etc. I opt for toaster oven or range/pot/pan over microwave 9/10 times just because I have the extra 10-20min and prefer the quality. Radiation (for me) has nothing to do with it.
Get one and (after you tire of that excellent joke) swap it on/off and hide it when people have their back turned like Igor's hump switching in Young Frankenstein.
Tbh I'm not in that habit either, I had wrote "he" but after I posted I caught the :3 in her uname, so I checked and came back and corrected it. Also, I had a feeling from the writing style she may have been ESL which I was going to mention too if so, but yeah both those reasons are why I checked this time.
As to the rest of it, she's already corrected you that she did not edit the "females" out so I don't have to mention it. Instead I'll mention that A) You had no knowledge of her will to speak better before you were rude to her about her word choice, so you can't claim you were "just trying to help bro" or anything like that, B) if you were trying to "help her speak better" being a dick about it isn't the best way to go. Hell even if you're trying to police a woman on how she speaks about women because you think how she does it is immoral, being nice is a much more effective strategy, "catch more flies with honey" as it were (but for fruit flies use vinegar.)
Idk, you think this woman's use of the word "girl" is likely contributing much to her lonliness? I mean that'd probably be true if she was a man because people would automatically assume the worst, but in my experience women can usually get away with saying "girl" without anyone caring.

New list is up, let's see here..
The Serpent in the Garden: Ed Grey and the Last Battle for England #1 - I like Hellboy and all I know is that this is in that universe, so I'll pick it up.
Creepshow Volume 3 #3 - Creepshoooooowwww!
Falling In Love On The Path To Hell #6 - Falling in love with this series is more like it.
Hyde Street #2 - I think this might shape up to be my favorite Ghost Machine title, only time can tell!
Whew looks like they went light on me this week, thankfully! Real excited about all of these though! What're you pulling this week?
Yet tbf, people usually say that's a problem when it's used alone as in "females and men" because "nobody says 'males,'" but here she says "females and males."
Personally, if I write a post like this I'd write "women and males" even though it's clunky and awkward, just so the sanctimonious crowd doesn't have shit to say, but she did the thing that people say is fine to do and yet still gets accused of being a ferengi. I know it's exciting to feel like you're better than someone and jump to correcting their behavior but it's possible we're jumping the shark here.
Edit: btw, as per OP's post history, she's a "23yo female with a 76 IQ." Lay off man, jeez!
Holy shit I forgot all about this, I 100% read one of these Bunnicula books as a kid.
It's coming, if phones are any indication. And yeah I need an adapter, it doesn't dangle like a dongle, it's a big hole with a small pole on the other end which is much better, afaik there has never been a computer ever that had a 1/4" instrument cable port but most audio equipment does, since I have both it makes sense to have it, whereas "they took away the 3.5 so now I have to go 1/4">3.5mm>USBC because they also don't make a 1/4th>USBC anywhere on earth" does not make sense unless you're trying to sell me something.
Shocker that specialized equipment requires a specialized cable, I know, but my point is 3.5mm is absolutely not specialized hardware, it is still one of the most common connectors on earth, and as such it should still be supported.
I have a B.S. in communications, no degree but I can communicate BS to you all you want!

List is up! Big one for me this week!
Groo Minstrel Melodies #3 - I see Sergio, I buy Sergio. This was delayed last week I think (at my shop anyway) so I hope.I see it this week.
Minor Arcana #3 - Loving this series so far!
Convert #4 - End of the road for this one, interesting story for sure and I like the colors.
Geiger #8 - Still Following this one.
Ice Cream Man #42 - This series is kinda the whole reason I am into comics, started out collecting this one and branched out from there. Before I saw this I'd only seen like superhero stuff which I couldn't get into (I tried), had read Watchmen and V for Vendetta (Loved em), and some Deadpool (liked em lol) but that was it.
Moon Is Following Us #3 - Liking this series so far, #1 was a hook, #2 gives a few answers and gives even more questions, I'm along for the ride.
Epitaphs From The Abyss #5 - This one is...alright. I debate dropping it each time because I favor Creepshow and even Cruel Science, one day that'll happen, maybe today, who knows.
Whew! What're you pulling?
ComicList: New Comic Book Releases List for 11/13/2024
List is up! Let's see, I'll be grabbing:
Toxic Avenger #2 - I was skeptical this would be a cheap imitation/just cashing in on the name, but the cover said "A message from Uncle Lloyd" and I wanted to read that alone, so I picked it up (#1). It was actually pretty good as far as a modern retelling goes, nothing will beat the OG but I will finish this out.
Black Hammer Spiral City #1 - I've only read some Black Hammer but I want to hunt down the rest, it was good!
Groo Minstrel Melodies #3 - I see Sergio, I buy Sergio.
Helen Of Wyndhorn #6 - End of the road, this series has been pretty good, I'm hoping for a spinoff/sequel that shows more of the magical world or Helen (or anyone's) adventures there.
Life #3 - This series is alright so far, two different perspectives in one book.
Time Waits #2 - Ngl I have to read #1 still before I pull the trigger, but I'll do it today.
Space Ghost #7 - Space Ghooooost!
That's it for me, what're you pulling this week?
Night of the Living Cat
A TRUE CAT-ASTROPHE! Kunagi and company manage to return home with their new friend, the super-intelligent cat Jones. Everyone’s happy to have a cat to dote on! However, the good times don’t...
Not usually a manga guy but the one I read just recently dropped chapter 5 in english. It's exactly what you think, zombie parody but the zombies are adorable kitties and hard to resist, but if you snuggle one you become a cat yourself!
I even got sick of zombie stuff in like 2008, but the two exceptions are this here manga and a live action Japanese film that will go unnamed. Both are just so funny they get a pass.
ComicList: New Comic Book Releases List for 11/06/2024
New list is up!
FML #1 - "Genre bending," "Metal kids," "apocalypse." Alrighty then, I'll check it out.
One For Sorrow #1 - DSTLRY is an easy sell to me, and this looks pretty neat. 1900 london, criminals getting murdered by a mysterious figure dubbed The Magpie due to the feathers left on corpses.
I Hate Fairyland #17 - Aww shit, Happy's back.
Sacrificers #12 - Sacrificers rules!
Cruel Universe #4 - I'm one behind on this actually but I'll keep it going.
That's it for me, what's on your list?
SimpliSafe bypass
Hey flipper comm! I just watched the LPL's video on how he bypassed SimpliSafe's door chimes with a 433.92 mhz signal broadcast from a generic remote to basically jam the weak signal output by the chime and bypass the alarm. Apparently it can also be done with a ham radio but they output too high of a signal and trip the radio interference notification on the alarm, and I immediately started wondering if the flipper would trip it or not.
A friend of mine has simplisafe and he said we can test it when I go see him in a couple months, but my problem then becomes "I don't know shit about Sub-gHz > Add Manually." There's so many protocols even just for 433mHz and I have no clue what the difference is between most of them (though I know KL and Security2.0 are rolling code protocols). Does anyone here know anything about them or which protocol it may use, or does it even matter?
Lpl didn't say the brand or I'd search the FCC ID and it seems that the one he used is no longer sold on amazon (probably due to his video haha.) There also seems to be a reddit thread related to flippers and simplisafe but unfortunately I absolutely refuse to install the app to see it.
Any help on the "Add Manually" would be greatly appreciated, I don't want to spend 4hr trying it out manually adding this and that protocol day of, we're gonna have drinking that needs to be done lol.
ComicList: New Comic Book Releases List for 10/30/2024
New list is up! Sorry I'm a day later than usual lol, busy week so far already!
Batman The Long Halloween The Last Halloween #2 - Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na BAT-MAN!
It Happened On Hyde Street Devour #1 - The only horror book that looks good to me coming out this week, a day before Halloween no less. Seems they all came out last week lol. Hyde St #1 was great though, so I'm sold. Sad state of affairs. At least Creepshow Vol 3 is underway!
Come Find Me an Autumnal Offering - Looks interesting.
Deadpool Team-Up #3 - Deadpool & Dragons has been ok so far.
That's it for me this week, real light one! What's on your pull lists?
ComicList: New Comic Book Releases List for 10/23/2024
New list is up! Some good stuff for me this week it looks like,
Termite Mound #1 - I'll look at it if my shop has it, looks weird, I know nothing but the cover.
DC Horror Presents #1 - Not huge on the whole DC verse but do love horror, may look at this too.
From The DC Vault Death In The Family Robin Lives #4 - I do like Batman though sometimes!
Creepshow Volume 3 #2 - Creepshow is what Epitaphs of the Abyss wishes it could be. I wish they'd just make it an ongoing rather than seasonal but as long as they keep making them with some regularity I won't complain.
Moon Is Following Us #2 - #1 was interesting, seems to be about basically a kid who got Matrixed into their own dreams and can't get out, and the parents have to enter the kid's dreamworld and adventure-to-rescue.
Nullhunter #1- "NULLHUNTER is a kinetic cyberpunk retelling of the Labors of Hercules." Huh, neat, I'll bite.
Universal Monsters Frankenstein #3 - I love the old Universal films, and this comic has been doing them justice.
That's it for me, what's on your lists this week?
Horror Smash Hit 'Beneath The Trees Where Nobody Sees' is Officially Getting A Sequel in RITE OF SPRING
YESSSS! It's coming!!
ComicList: New Comic Book Releases List for 10/16/2024
New list is up! Not toooo many for me this week.
From The World Of Minor Threats Barfly #3 - Ayyy Shiteater is back! This series is pretty good
Batman And Robin Year One #1 - Batman eh? Ok.
Batman Full Moon #1 - Werebatwolfman? Or Bat V Wolf? Guess I gotta find out.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles The Last Ronin II Re-Evolution #3 - Turtles for adults is soooo gooood. Need more!
Falling In Love On The Path To Hell #5 - Well y'all already knew this was on the list, I can't shut up about this series.
Epitaphs From The Abyss #4 - Last one was ok, I'll get this one. Creepshow is so much better though.
That's it for me, what're you picking up?

Hello lemmy's !music consortium. I was wondering if anyone could help me with this song, and being that it's lemmy, I'm assuming "probably." I've been looking for this song since Metro 2033 (game) came out, and I finally found it just now! It's sung by a guard right before you watch how Unkle Bourbon "works." (I had already found Гоп Стоп by Aleksander Rosenbaum). I didn't know where else to post this, being that it is music I came here, hope that's ok.
Now the issue is I'm a little lost on the historical context, and I was hoping one of the .mls out there who may have a bit more knowledge of the russian civil war could shed some light on it because to be frank I know nothing about it.
It seems to be a Cossack song, and anti Bolshevik? I translated the ru.wiki.whatever page and it seems to suggest the writers are a couple of punks with cool ass nicknames like "solid" and "not good" that pulled lyrics from a couple historical tunes, and that there was a 4th verse in the OG that is now oft omitted much to the chagrin of those authors, who call it "white guard pink snot" or something, what the hell does that mean?! Is the song supposed to be just generally anti-communist or is it...well...idk, really any insight into this tune would be much appreciated. Like I said I don't know much, I basically know the "reds" are the Bolsheviks and that's it.
ComicList: New Comic Book Releases List for 10/09/2024
New list is up! Come and get it! Let's see, for me...
Minor Arcana #2 - Jeff Lemire rules. Minor Arcana is good so far.
Groo Minstrel Melodies #2 - I didn't know Groo was still around until issue #1!
Batman Gotham By Gaslight The Kryptonian Age #5 - Been pretty good so far.
Life #2 - I'll be honest I still haven't read #1, I'm slacking.
Space Ghost #6 - Space Ghoooost! Can't wait until he gets booked on the talk show. Looks like Moltar is about to show up!
Geiger #7 - Super FalloutMan has been good, I'll keep going
Precious Metal #5 - I'm a little behind on this too but it's ok, I like the art a lot.
Looks like that's it for me this week, what's on your lists?
ComicList: New Comic Book Releases List for 10/02/2024
New list is up! Looks like a decent one..
Minor Arcana #1 - Honorable mention, this one is getting a second print. I'm all in so far with just #1. A woman returns from the city to her hometown, in part because of her failures, and in part because her mom is sick. Her mom runs a Tarot shop, the daughter thinks it's all bullshit scams but ends up running the shop and it turns out maybe it's not all bullshit after all, seems like she'll be talking to her sapphic old love from high school shortly.
Plastic Man No More #2 - Yeah I like Plastic Man now, he's funny!
Falling In Love on the Path To Hell reprints #1, 2, 3 - Most honorable mention. Image now bills this as "your favorite new ongoing" and I think they're right (because Beneath The Trees Where Nobody Sees isn't an ongoing...yet?...but anyway), it's damn good! Basically a Cowboy man and a Samurai woman wash up on the beach in purgatory after dying at the same time, and honestly I don't want to give away any more than that, it's fucking good. One of my favorite colorists too, Chris O'Hallorhan, who does Ice Cream Man.
Hyde Street #1 - Ghost Machine's (Geiger, Redcoat, Rook: Exodus) newest offering. I'll check it out for sure, since it's horror, but I'm not gonna lie the only thing I'm following is Geiger so far so we'll see.
I Hate Fairyland #16 - Yup! New arc!
Cruel Universe #3 - Cruel Universe is great! Honestly scarier than their horror offering so far, however Epitaphs #3 was pretty good!
That's it for me, what are you getting this week?
ComicList: New Comic Book Releases List for 09/25/2024
My Bad Escape From Peculiar Island #5 - Last one in this dumb ass series lol, why not.
Helen Of Wyndhorn #5 - This series has been good, I kinda hope it gets picked up.
Batman The Long Halloween The Last Halloween #1 - I guess I'm going to pick this up, but I haven't read the first series.
Lobo Cancellation Special #1 - Idk much about Lobo but this looks alright.
Creepshow Volume 3 #1 - It's here! The first two were so good! Need more. MORE!
Drawing Blood #6 - Tbh I've been slacking on this one but I'm still picking it up, I'll get to it.
Universal Monsters Frankenstein #2 - Really dug the first one, I'll keep picking this up.
Dick Tracy #5 - Dick Tracy rules! I need to buy a yellow trenchcoat for no reason.
Deadpool Team-Up #2 - Deadpool & Dragons™ I guess. Pretty weird but I'm giving it a shot. I'm not usually into marvel but I do like old Deadpool (and & Cable) and I think I'm gonna pick up whatever Deadpool Liefeld does, probably not any other stuff though (though I heard Scott Aukermann wrote one and I would like to find that lol).
Looks like that's it for me! Fucking hyped about Creepshow! What're you guys picking up?
Falling In Love On The Path to Hell
Howdy partners, got a weird western y'all might want to partake in here.
Falling In Love On The Path To Hell is a new ongoing comic series being released by Image Comics currently. Issue #4 came out last week, and reprints of 1, 2, and 3 are coming out next Wednesday (10/02/2024). If you're looking for physical copies, here's a site that will help you find your nearest local comic book stores.
The basic story so far, is MacRaith (that handsome devil up front with two Colt Navy 1851 revolvers) and Asami (that beautiful Samurai in the background) die, and wash up with the corpse tide on the shores of Purgatory. They're "alive" however, and get recruited to fight the hordes of hell (who come out every night when the river Styx dries up) by a strange Sikh named Mohan (that feller there with the sun for an eye). Things, however, may not be as they seem, nor how they're presented by Mohan, time will tell...
Content warning: Mature Audiences only. "Sexual violence" has been (almost, it was prevented) depicted already.
ComicList: New Comic Book Releases List for 09/18/2024
New list is up! Let's see what we got this week..
Graveyard Club #1 - R. L. Stein, let's go!
Batman Day 2024 - Batman Elmer Fudd Special Noir #1 - What in the fuck is this? I'll have to get it, it's too insane not to.
Batman Day 2024 Batman The Long Halloween #0 - Heard this Long Halloween series rules, I need to read it, hopefully it gets a reprint about nowish..
Batman Day 2024 Batman The Long Halloween #1 - Well we're part way to a reprint, but I need all of em!
Beneath The Trees Where Nobody Sees TP - Alright I'm probably not picking this up because I have both the A and B covers of all the singles (not my usual MO), but I'm adding it as an honorable mention because if you don't have it yet you should 100% check this out at least. It's basically cute Richard Scarry style art with anthropomorphic animals, but the lead character is a serial killer. Huge problems arise in her world, can she stop it or not? I won't say, you'll have to read it to find out. I hope this gets picked up for more issues more than anything else out right now.
Falling In Love On The Path To Hell #4 - This series rules so far! Glad it's an ongoing now.
Ice Cream Man #41 - The series responsible for getting me into comics in the first place. It's like a sad song you can't stop listening to, or a bruise that you can't stop poking, it's depressing but so good. I like how they play with the format, like the issue that was a crossword puzzle, and the one that was all palindromes and could be read both front to back and back to front. This one looks to be a James Bond parody.
Moon Is Following Us #1 - I know nothing about this but it looks interesting.
Tin Can Society #1 - Might pick this up, the cover is intriguing.
Epitaphs From The Abyss #3 - Well issue 2 was better, but it's still no Creepshow. I'll continue it for one more at least. Looks like there's two new EC titles coming out soon too, a new SuspenStories and a new Weird Fantasy, both called something else but similar, of course.
Looks like that's it for me, what're you pulling this week?
ComicList: New Comic Book Releases List for 09/11/2024
Into The Unbeing Part One #4 - End of the road for this one. It's been interesting so far, some spelunkers going into a "cave" that may actually be a "head of some giant creature." I'm actually one behind but I'm going to read it here in a minute, just picked it up.
Groo Minstrel Melodies #1 - Idk much about Groo but I did read Mad back in the day, so I'm grabbing this.
Time Waits #1 - Idk much but DSTLRY stuff is usually worth a look.
Batman Gotham By Gaslight The Kryptonian Age #4 - This one has been alright so far.
Space Ghost #5 - Zorak is here! I love Zorak lmao, I can't stop thinking about The Brak Show and Space Ghost Coast to Coast while reading this and tbh it's a big reason if why I'm reading it haha.
Ain't No Grave #5 - End of the road. This series has been great, I like these weird westerns.
Geiger #6 - Hooray for Barney!
Precious Metal #4 - This series is weird as shit and I like the art.
That's it for me this week, what about you?
Subscription issues?
Anyone else having an issue where they have to resubscribe to a community every time the app closes? For some reason in eternity it keeps unsubbing me from !c/comicbooks@lemmy.world every time the app restarts itself, and I have to go resubscribe. None of this actually affects my account, I guess, because when I sign in with other apps I'm still subbed to it, eternity just removes it from my subs on boot and won't show the content in my subscriptions feed. Is there any way to fix this?
New list is up! Sorry I'm a day later than usual, I was "really sick" yesterday (totally not hungover if my boss is reading this!)
Let's see, decent list for me this week:
Animal Pound #5 - Last in this series, it's been great! A modern retelling of Animal Farm by George Orwell
Minor Arcana #1 - Jeff Lemire back at it after the conclusion of Fishflies. Flishflies rules, this sounds like it'll follow the trend. A woman who's mom is a psychic (but she never believed that much) has to move back home and take over the family business (or something like that). Turns out there may be something to it after all...
Dawnrunner #5 - End of the road for this too but I hope it gets picked up, eldritch kaiju vs mechs with consciousness and pilots.
Helen Of Wyndhorn #4 - This series has been great too. Helen's father, a writer, dies and she has to move back into her grandfather's palatial estate. Turns out the fae world her dad wrote "fiction" about is anything but, and she has been traveling through it with her grandfather doing stuff.
Plastic Man No More #1 - Idk much about Plastic Man but I've heard it's funny, I'll give it a shot.
Blood Brothers Mother #2 - Good western! I'm definitely going to finish this one out.
Cruel Universe #2 - The first one was great, hope that continues!
Well looks like that about wraps it up for me. Pretty excited about all of these! What're you pulling?
ComicList: New Comic Book Releases List for 08/28/2024
New list is up! Good one for me this week!
Batman Off-World #5 - This is still running? Bout damn forgot about this one!
Convert #1 - "Science Officer Orrin Kutela finds himself stranded on a distant planet, starving and haunted by the ghosts of his dead crew. On the verge of death, he makes an astonishing discovery. Veteran writer John Arcudi (Rumble, B.P.R.D.) and illustrator Savanna Finley bring you a sci-fi/fantasy comic like no other." Sounds interesting enough!
Drawing Blood #5 - Drawing Blood! Raining Blood plays. Kevin Eastman rules.
Sacrificers #11 - Sacrificers! Pigeon has been fucking shit up, Soluna is having a rough time, can't wait to see what this issue brings!
Universal Monsters Frankenstein #1 - The Creature reboot was good, I'll try this one too.
What're you pulling?
