  • Asian squat is only common as a term if you live near or in asian communities. Same idea though. Came from the stereotype of seeing asian aunties and uncles squatting on the sidewalks.

  • Living Alone
  • My experience living alone is just rice from a rice cooker and/or whatever I feel like throwing in the air fryer or the steamer.

It's not too bad and you get a decent variety. Steamed foods can be veggies, dumplings, etc. Air fryer for salmon, chicken, potatoes, etc.

Dont have to manage any of it other than setting a timer for when its done.

Every so often I throw together soup which is usually just tossing a lot of ingredients into a pot. That's like the most effort I really put on a daily basis.

  • What ability from people did you wish you had?
  • Sounds like you have aphantasia. Wish more research was done on it, I only learned about it when I was randomly talking with my friends and one of them said they couldn't imagine an image.

I'm stuck with the ability to imagine complete scenes but not be able to draw what I imagine haha

  • Insane savings
  • Thrift stores are kinda fake now. Especially goodwill. Not much in terms of deals nowadays, everything is just barely under retail. It's worse now that people are going around buying and reselling products. Hard to find stuff when you're competing with people who do it as a business.

Craigslist is pretty dog now too. Last thing I got from Craigslist was around 2018, there's never really anything actually worthwhile now. Don't really know what's up with that, but unfortunate I guess.

As much as I despise facebook, facebook marketplace is still the best for secondhand, along with college buy or sell groups. It comes with its own issues (esp if you are selling) but you actually get secondhand prices for most of everything.

  • Anon is a nostalgic gamer
  • Gonna have to disagree on this. Input parity is a big issue for multiplayer games.

Look at Apex, roller players complain about m&k being able to do certain movement tech, m&k players complain about the ridiculous aim assist on roller. People sometimes cheat by using the roller to have aim assist, while using macros to achieve certain movement tech.

Touchscreen vs m&k isnt even close to roller vs m&k. It's really only fun for the person who has that advantage at that point. You essentially make it so that you get to have fun while everyone else doesn't. Sure, it might allowed by the devs, doesn't make it any less fun to play against.

To your point on ranked, not everyone wants to play that. Sometimes they just want to turn on their phone for a quick match.

  • YouTube, Wikipedia, and Archive.org are the modern day library of Alexandria
  • The you part of youtube was definitely people making videos for the fun of it. Things like videos about a topic they're passionate about (eg. Fallout NV, weird mechanics in games, etc.), 2008-esque skits, lets plays, and all that. It still exists, but youtube was really at its peak when it was just a buncha random people living their lives and having fun.

  • Your take would make sense if internships weren't completely swamped

My cs internship took about 300 or so applications to get one (after about 5 months of looking). It's even worse now, and knowing people doesn't mean much in this industry unless it's a small local company or you somehow know the vp of a company.

  • Things you need to tell your kids
  • Heard a lot of horror stories of sites promising a free tier, then making the free tier a lower storage space and locking accounts that go over after a while.

Dropbox is not the best, but if you manage backups properly by storing in more than one space, then its fine.

  • California is suprisingly conservative outside of the cities. If you look at any election map, its usually red towards the farms and rural areas. It's just there's so many people in cities that it doesnt really matter on state level
