Hello, my name is Cris. :)
I like being nice to people on the internet and looking at cool art stuff
Ah, yeah I can definitely see that being grating and just kinda generally unpleasant. Thanks for filling me in on the context
Ahhh, gotcha. Tone is always hard over the internet
Hope you have a good one!
Thank you for correcting me! I skimmed the article out of curiosity a bit too quickly I guess
That was interesting, thank you for sharing!
This is fucking amazing, thank you so much for sharing! As a UX nerd who grew up with legos I adore this
Edit: sorry, I think I glanced through the article too quickly- it is referring to prostitutes. I'm not in Australia, and I'm not really sure if I have a stance on this, but wanted to correct my comment so I wasn't misleading people
It sounded like this meant prostitutes, but it seems like this actually just means things that help you physically make sex work if you have a disability, which seems much more normal and appropriate
You're all good my friend, it is okay
If you're in the US and celebrate thanksgiving, happy Thanksgiving!
Thats friggen neat! I really like my mobile client, but I wish it has that feature. I might have to give it a try
Aww, that sucks ass :( I haven't caught up, I guess I haven't seen any of that part yet.
I enjoyed the little bit of him restoring a motorcycle I saw. Fuckin stupid sexists.
Aldi is one of the places I typically shop, taking a look online it seems like their soy milk is at least a decent price, but it's about the same price for half as much milk. Perhaps when I make a bit more I'll try some soy milk and see if I like the taste :)
The oat milk is a dollar more for half as much milk. I think I'm just really broke lol 😅 thank you for the recommendations!
Lol, yes I understand the premise, my comment was just a response to how ludicrous that premise is 😅
I really wanna get one of these for the hypothetical cassette futurism PC build I wanna do, they're super cool looking
Are there any of the alternative milks that aren't super expensive and aren't sweet? It's been a long time since I've tried any but I remember always being offput by the sweetness, and any time I've considered trying again the price quickly quelled that thought 😅
Ah... Yeah, that's not super helpful :/ maybe an email or a message on social media could help? Regardless, that's a unfortunate issue
Well that's unfortunate :/

My regular carry right now when I step out of the house includes:
- A leather wallet my grandpa gave me (the circle imprints are from the quarters I use to get a shipping cart at aldi)
- A hankerchief I made with my freind when she taught me how to use a sewing machine for the first time
- My trusty Casio a700
- An old field notes notebook. We had a bunch left over from Geo-Caching when I was in scouts a kid
- A muji gel pen (I adore these pens 10/10)
And my keys with
- A keychain from when my friend took me to see a league of legends semifinals that was being played near us
- Two mini library cards
- And a medication container I keep melatonin and some ADHD meds in (Non-stimulant, not that I expect cops will care if I'm pulled over 😅)
"The Orange" by Wendy Cope
This poem has a lot of emotional significance for me. I have a severe sleep disorder and as a result am not awake during the day. The things I miss the most are sunlight, and the small interactions with people in my area. The polite conversation at the cash register, giving folks compliments, people telling me about their tattoos, wishing people a good day.
When I can't see the sun, and I can't leave the house because nowhere is open its so easy to feel disconnected from humanity. Its incredibly isolating. On the rare occasions that I skip sleep for an important appointment, or my sleep schedule gets so late that it becomes early for a brief period and I get to do those things I miss, this poem captures the feeling that makes me happy to be alive.
For a short window of time, I'm really glad I exist.
My beloved Casio a700
Its got a couple more scuffs since I took this picture but I really love this watch. It rarely ever leaves my wrist; I even leave it on when I sleep
It was about $25 when I got it and it's held up phenomenally well

Lemme know if memes aren't alright, I see that both the armed queers comm and this one (along with a bunch of other small guns comms) are basically just single poster communities, so I figured I'd crosspost to help contribute when I see something that'd be a good fit :)
My early voting location had a goofy frame you could take a picture with 😅
This is from Durham NC, so the text is a silly "Durham" pun. And the local mascot is a bull, so a lot of Durham themed stuff features a bull
Forgive my very sleep deprived face and weird-ass glasses, I'm not normally awake during the day and the glasses help with my sleep disorder 😅
Feel free to post your voting pictures or "I voted" stickers in the comments; seeing them makes me happy!

An interesting old video on communication. It shaped a lot of my thoughts about communication from a young age and I recently watched it again and remembered how much I love it all over again
Also, yes it's by the guy who does the "true facts about" videos
You Should Know About Radio Free Fedi!
Radiofreefedi.net is a super cool internet radio with a couple stations that plays music from fediverse artists, along with a "words" station that plays non-music stuff like podcasts or other kinds of spoken programming
I've really enjoyed it and only learned about it cause someone here on lemmy mentioned it in passing, I thought I'd share so other folks know about it as well :)
