If they're staying on the couch and not voting, they're not voters.
World War II ordinances didn't rely on batteries and so remain(ed) dangerous for far longer.
The landmines that Biden approved are battery powered. While they are still indiscriminate killing machines, they will self-neutralize rather than remain dangerous for decades to come.
Thank you.
The bill also introduces a military tax for self-employed persons and increases profit taxes for banks to 50% for 2024 and other financial institutions from 18% to 25% since January next year.
Nice.
The curmudgeon in me who can't stand the sound of a bouncing basketball approves, but really, this is awful. Kids need to play and they need to get outside.
I'm so sorry for your loss. It's wonderful that you had one for so long, though.
Yeah, I got a puppy when my older dog was five. But the puppy died of cancer right when she turned two. So I just got another puppy right before my older dog turned seven. She definitely had more patience for the last puppy, but they are starting to bond and play a bunch. It's nice to see. The older dog seemed really off and saddened by the loss of the last puppy. Nice for her to have a friend again.
I'm roasting a goose.
I didn't know if I would be able to manage it, and it has definitely been physically challenging/exhausting for me, but it's so rewarding to succeed. I've never cooked a goose before, so I don't know how it'll turn out, but it should be fine. I managed to trim and truss and all that. Hopefully I'll have the energy when it's done to make some gravy.
Before I became disabled, I cooked all the time. It was a favorite hobby and I was pretty good at it. Now, I struggle with simple things like chopping vegetables. So it's a pretty big win.
His plan, known as “impoundment,” threatens to provoke a major clash over the limits of the president’s control over the budget. The Constitution gives Congress the sole authority to appropriate the federal budget, while the role of the executive branch is to dole out the money effectively. But Trump and his advisers are asserting that a president can unilaterally ignore Congress’ spending decisions and “impound” funds if he opposes them or deems them wasteful.
And what a surprise, his plan is blatantly unconstitutional.
I was in the Tohoku earthquake in Japan in 2011, in Fukushima, relatively close to the epicenter and the nuclear power plant.
It was an ordeal, to say the least. We were completely cut off for eight days.
For a change, I am inclined to believe both of them.
Depends on the breed / size of the dog. Large dogs have shorter lives. I like large dogs. About five years is a good age to get a puppy in that context. I wouldn't wait more than seven years.
I'm not sure I can even think of any Thanksgiving movies. Aside from the horror one that came out last year, which I have yet to see.
I used to add dark cocoa powder into my coffee maker. I liked it.
China currently has a massive problem with youth unemployment and this is their plan?
It's about harassing or disturbing wildlife.
My dogs. I stagger their ages so that I'll always have at least one and thus would feel too guilty to ever kill myself.
I've enjoyed Michael J Fox's memoirs, and Eddie Izzard's. The trick is to listen to them rather than read them.
I'm similar. It's called being cross-handed.
Help remembering a horror movie
About 4 years ago, I watched a movie which I enjoyed but can't for the life of me find. It involved a white couple getting lost in deep rural Appalachia and getting taken in by a cult-like small family in the middle of nowhere.
I don't remember the details very well since it was a few years ago and I watched it pretty late at night. I think it involved the woman being drawn in while the man wasn't, and there being murder (in a shed?), but that could be me mixing different movies up.
Does anyone know what it might have been?
