Musk, Ramaswamy tell Trump to end "the Covid-era privilege of staying home"
  • It did seem weird to me that Harris or any of the other democratic candidates campaigned on remote work. Seems like a smart pro-worker position to take that would directly impact a group she was trying to court: college educated professionals who skew male. Plus lower environmental impact, cheaper gas, more opportunities for working parents, etc.

The cynical reason I assume it wasn’t a talking point is because the 1% who directed the media conversation had a vested interest in return to pre-Covid status quo.

  • Forget Matt Gaetz. Merrick Garland Is America’s Worst Attorney General.
  • To this point- Biden is still the president for 62 more days. Trump has shown what he plans to do with power, and what is Biden doing? The headlines from today were going to the rainforest and awarding CHIPS act money. Not rallying the resistance or doing anything to meaningfully protect us. It’s hard to imagine Biden doing it, but I could see a more energetic and youthful leader actually trying to be a speed bump for Trump. What a shame we’re here.

  • Donald Trump bears responsibility for Jan. 6 attack, Jack Smith argues in new filing
  • Two small points-

    1. he brought the classified docs case earlier and that case has been dismissed pending appeal, so I don’t think the timing matters there.
    2. due to the Supreme Court’s interference, we are probably still a year from a verdict. They were going to help him avoid accountability no matter when the charges were brought.
  • After Musk's pro-Trump/Vance bender, X users report issues following Kamala Harris' accounts
  • I agree this is of questionable veracity, but could you imagine if for example fb users had trouble following Trump? There would be a whole news cycle culminating in a congressional hearing. When people talk about the asymmetrical standards that conservatives are held to vs liberals in the media this is a prime example.

  • 'I'm not leaving': Biden expands effort to tamp down calls to step aside
  • Yup. You need to project complete confidence until the moment you drop out, once you say “This is a hugely important decision, the hardest one I’ve ever had to make, so I’m taking my time” Boom you have lost control and it’s over.

However it appears the writing is on the wall at this point. The next question is, once he decides to no longer run should he resign? If he isn’t up for the job of running how does he instill confidence that he can remain president? Plus it hands the nomination to Kamala no question.
