Not really, 90% of the reason we're moving is because we can no longer handle the debt accumulated and plan to use whatever gains we make to bring ourselves out of it and hope to have enough to at least put down a down payment on something else.
Anyway I can email him asking for a couple hundred thousand? Drop in the bucket, he wouldn't even notice, yet my life would be changed forever.
I laughed and thought this was a joke. Then I opened the article and went wow.
I despise doordash or any of those services... thankfully, I am not that lazy to the point that I won't even order pizza for delivery, I will go pick it up. My wife, on the other hand, thinks whenever I am not around (go out with friends or some event), it's a free for all, and I will see like a $80 dollar charge for something stupid that probably would have been like $20 if she went to get it. Nothing drives me more nuts than this waste of money we don't even have...
Just recently started looking since we want to sell our current one and buy another. We purchased 10 years ago, and after looking up and down the state, the average price increase for all houses is about 200k... so whether it's a 300k house or a 600k house 5 years ago it is now 200k more for both right now. I honestly doubt there was a 17% drop in this state.
I agree with you. The PSP (and vita) was amazing because it was also its own thing, and you got games dedicated to it. Not that I don't find value in a handheld that offers up the same games, I love the switch, but it offers both purposes in one that makes it way more versatile. I don't really think a system that just plays PS5 games will be as big as they think. It could hit a small market for people that don't have a system and actually enjoy portable over a system.
One thing I don't agree with is that you think they will be 2 different games for sale and not a 1 buy gets it on either ps5 console or handheld? In this day in age seeing how switch and steam deck work I highly doubt that they will push this as 2 games. My guess is they request a mobile settings profile from developers to make sure it runs good enough on the hardware which will most likely be slightly less powerful than the console.
Oh snap, they finally released the Titanic feature? To unlock it's gonna cost you $8k first.
Mine may not be as long as some, but it was super frustrating... I lost my only car key for just shy of 1 year. This was a few years ago and was around the "end" of COVID. I have been working from home for the past 2 years, and since my car was the older one and wasn't very safe to drive I used my wife's car whenever I needed to go to the store or pick something up.
So my car sat in the front of our driveway and was ok as is. It wasn't a big deal, and at first thought ok well it will turn up soon after doing a quick search. Months later, it started to sink in that this wasn't turning up. Still no biggie, it wasn't needed and not a huge priority. Fast forward almost a year, and bam, our job is telling us we need to come back 3 days a week in 1 month... I quickly started to panick, and we both went nuts for the next few weeks, ripping the house apart, trying to find it.
I also found a cheap key fob online and decided to get it and have someone come on-site to cut the key to match the car. I felt like an idiot after that worked but realized it won't start the car because of the security in the fob that needs to sync for it to turn over the car using just the key. So, $150 later and no progress. I decided to call a locksmith, and they told me to call the car dealership because they need the codes to program one if none exist. Oh, this is also going to cost me another $200 or more... car dealership says absolutely not, I have to go there to get the codes because I need to prove it's me with paperwork since it could be someone trying to steal a car. Didn't have time for this...
So, about 2 weekends before I needed to return, I'm doing a deep clean on my wife's car since her and the kids were going to go somewhere for vacation soon. As I am doing this on the passenger side I stick my hand down the left side of the seat and boom, I hit the key fob I lost where it was stuck halfway down. We looked in her car multiple times, but due to it being stuck midway, we never really checked that and only the floor underneath...
Great! Now I know it's going to be bad trying to start the car after sitting for almost a year. Sure enough, the battery is dead and fully expected. Since it was a costco battery and got it only a few years ago, I was able to do a full return and grab another without having to pay since it needs to reach like 2 years minimum before it starts depreciation and I was a few months before that. Get the new battery in and boom! Starts right up. I get excited for a second... then I step on the brake and boom straight to the floor. At this point I'm now nervous. Luckily my father is a mechanic and he is able to spot the problem which was a pinhole opened up in the back line near the left tire. We order a new metal wire and he makes a brand new line by shaping it to match the existing one that connects across the back of the car. After a few hours success. Looks promising! Then I put it in reverse, and it goes nowhere... my father then finds the trans fluid is really low. We take a gamble and buy like 5 quarts to fill it. Seemed promising and holy crap it worked. The next day I try to go for a drive just to use it and same issue. Father comes back and realizes the fluid is basically gone again. While under the car he now realizes the entire tank it sits in was rotted out. He says this was probably the best problem to have since it was like $20 bucks to order an entire new one to replace it. Get that in the next day and fill it back up.
It has been working ever since, and I was able to make it back to work in time. That was a year and a half ago. Just for reference, the car was brand new when I brought it in Jan 2007 and has 247k on it. I am actually in the process of obtaining a replacement car finally in the next few weeks. For having the car for so long I will admit it was incredibly reliable and I put almost no money into it outside a few parts every few years like the starter or alternator which isn't bad for 18 years.
Yeah, except I'm sure some were doing it for the benefits so now they lose that plus all the time invested for nothing. I feel bad from that angle.
Or dead, or too old to handle them, or don't live near you, or just don't want to be bothered. My parents are great, but they did tell me straight up that they wouldn't be a substitute for daycare. They do a lot but just don't want to be responsible like that, and I honestly don't blame them. They watch them whenever we need a babysitter or have to travel for events which is great. My wife's parents are dead.
I would imagine production cost for lodge could go up since they source the material from scrap yards and if the cost of iron in general goes up because a percentage of it is imported than the cost of scrap should increase as well.
From what I hear lately, even premium is sneaking in ads now. There may be a new tier coming!
Thanks for the multiple responses! I have been convinced to give it a shot and put some effort into it. Thanks for the specs reference, I built myself a new PC last fall and tried to go semi higher end so I think I'll be ok, at least i hope so since nothing has given me issues yet except for ray tracing stuff because I went with AMD.
Got 32gb RAM, ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F Gaming, AMD Ryzen 7 7800x3d, AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT Saphire Nitro+, 2tb m.2 drive for games and a 1tb one for the OS both PCI 4. Also had the monitor for a few years now, but it's the Samsung Odyssey ultrawide 49" got it when it was on a good sale. Would love the newer version of it but this one still looks great and can't justify the price when this one is still fine.
Thanks for the response! This does sound like something I would enjoy and will give it a shot soon. I've been looking for a new long-term game, and this sounds like a good choice.
Is this game any good? I really wanna know. I've seen it for the last decade and it basically gets shat on but I haven't actually seen anyone talk about it seriously. Is it worth the wait? Is it at least a fun time and interesting experience? Is it unique or comparable to a bunch of other games?
I played it once wayyyy back during one of the first betas and did not enjoy the controls at all. I would imagine it's improved a ton since then.
You're probably right, I am just in that awkward phase and have 2 small children. I hope to bounce back once I'm 50 and they are more independent. My situation is obviously different from others.

Agreed, but wait until your 40's... going out at all just feels weird now and it makes me sad.
For me, I just wanna know the % of people who voted for him that weren't swayed by misinformation but actually want all of what's about to come. Those are the real people to worry about. I can get 1%, but what if it's more like 10%...
I haven't given my full value in years... they stopped raising, and I stopped caring.
Take advantage of 2.5gb port with switches?
Just a quick question since I am not sure if I am thinking about this correctly. I have 1 2.5gb port on my new router and the rest are 1gb. I wanted to buy a switch that leveraged the 2.5gb port but the devices plugged into it will be 1gb which will work since it's backwards compatible. My question is will this allow for a higher maximum throughput since the uplink is at 2.5gb allowing for me to max out the 1gb connections on the switch? Or is that not how it will work and I will see no difference between a 1gb switch plugged into a 1gb uplink?
