War is the cost of challenging the status quo intentionally. It turns out a lot of people in power are willing to pay that cost.
It isn't just the USA.
I want to be happy about it and I've played a city recently.
It still doesn't address that the game is not at the level it was sold and, while they are fixing it, it is going to be a while and probably won't be the same game advertised.
I don't know if it is "conditioning" so much as laziness. The effort of having to learn open source software is a lot higher than programmers believe and a lot of money is spent by closed source companies to optimize ease of use above everything else.
Open source as an economic model doesn't have an inherent motive to increase use of a product the way that the profit motive exists for closed source products. An open source model is better when pleasing existing users instead of going for new users, especially users that don't have the technical skill to contribute to a project.
And your response is typical of open source software advocates; it is a skill issue for users to get over.
Yeah. There isn't anything in Canada that is conducive to retirement. Cost of living in cities matches that of higher cost of living cities in the USA. Canadian health care is better, but I don't know how health care for residents is compared to Medicare in the USA.
If anything, more Americans are beginning to retire in Mexico as the cost of living is significantly lower and paying cash in the Mexican health care system is equivalent to Medicare in the USA.
The economy and traffic are a lot more fake than the game lets on. The developers tried building in an actual housing market, but ended up having to get rid of all the landlords. There is an idea of resources being used, but it isn't really implemented.
It might have better if the devs promised less as part of their dev diaries, but here we are. It says something that they can't release a DLC because the game doesn't feel finished enough to warrant a DLC.
On the flip side, open source expects users to accept bad and outdated UI. The people who need a more simplified UI aren't the people who can make the changes.
They bit off way more than they could chew with the new game and it shows. Now, it has some good ideas that I'm happy for implemented, like upgradable buildings and base resource extraction. However, I feel like this has been part of Paradox Plaza's problem in not having a clear design vision that has been fully vetted before going into production.
I'm sure the game could end up like Stellaris where the game is rewritten in a way to make it fun, but that is going to take some time.
I'll put the movie as more ambitious than anything else.
Yeah. I feel like they get so much hate because they are the closest symbol for "maybe things aren't as clear cut as you thought", and it freaks people out.
Right before MP3's, record labels treated a lot of their albums as products to sell. This required a marketing budget to go along with it including a lot of promotional material like music videos and concert tours for promotional purposes. The drop in revenue due to MP3's killed that model and it never returned.
Concert tickets are so expensive because record labels took control of that part of the revenue stream to find their promotion/marketing business. And promotion is no longer a small activity run by a band's groupies. The reason that Trent Reznor signed with a new label after he went independent was because he wasn't able to compete with the marketing arms of these companies.
I've found the Stellaris community rather accepting for a game with a genocide button.
He comes in peace!
Even before that, she is rightly shown as a political go getter, trying to use her position for a higher position. She plays from strength and weakness well.
Exactly. Louise Fletcher was an amazing actor that could make you feel total disgust at the sight of her in her role. Just the dripping condescension to her saying "my child" shows how great her talent was.
Yeah, but I'm willing to hope that 2026 will end up like 2018, where Republicans lost their control of the House.
Yeah, but the current polluters don't have a vested interest in fixing their problem to allow for new housing.
A mandate to require new development to meet a standard on sewage would be more productive than an outright ban.
Nah. Republicans own the next two years.
How far away are we from someone using AI to create an animated TV show by themselves.
One person, with their AI, can create a fully animated show with audio and different voices done with the combination of the creator and AI.
Why am I getting spam text messages trying to confirm I live in my phone's area code?
I'm used to the usual "remember me" text messages, but is there a reason they are trying to include the metro area in the message as well?
Why do Orks from Warhammer 40K have nipples?
They are supposed to be grown from spores, so what use are ork nipples?
Has there been a depiction of fast food on a space station?
Both B5 and DS9 had bars on station, but have and space stations have a fast food restaurant?
Forums are social media
People here like to say "I don't use social media; I use forums" like there is a difference between the two. There isn't.
Forums are places where people post and comment on user generated content, other comments themselves.
