I made an entire syllabus for my high school using on mouse over effects and drop downs with course descriptions, prerequisites and mappings for all future courses/paths. That was around 2005 or 2006. I didnt bother with Dreamweaver because how frustrating it was. Wrote the entire thing by hand using notepad. I don't even think I did it for a grade, it was just me being so sick of us not having a proper syllabus that you could access online. Just printed copies that would say you need to have this prerequisite, but it didn't list what page that other course was on so you had to flip around all over to find it and then figure out what prerequisites were needed there. Got so frustrated I just made my own.
When we were going to move into a new place a year later or so my girlfriend at the time and I were trying to figure out what furniture we wanted or how we would want to sutuate things to fit in our new place. We couldn't visualize what each other were saying well and know if desks/dressers what not would fit where we wanted. Thus I opened my old web pages, took the blueprint map for the apartment and created a quick drag and drop web page where you could take each item with a name on it and drag it into rooms, place them all where we wanted and then she could play with it and see what didn't fit side by side due to size, and screen shot what she liked/didn't like. Having previous projects put together and being able to just copy previous scripts, probably took me 45 mins to throw together. Settled all issues of "that probably won't fit" and let her play with it when I was at work.
Overkill, possibly.. but it was fun at the time (The syllabus took a long ass time, but that had intentions of the school being able to use it off their website to allow students/parents help plan their own futures)
Myspace also got a number of people playing with HTML and CSS if I remember correctly. It's been years. Not sure CSS is actually even used anymore. I enjoyed web design classes back in the 2000s. Macromedia still owned Dreamweaver and it wasn't all that great, so I could still do better by hand. I haven't played around with any of it in years now, but I assume those programs have GUIs that blow away anything that can be written in notepad like back then.
If you've never trouble shot 100 pages of JavaScript in notepad because you didn't have access to other tools, you haven't had "fun" before. ...fucking nightmare. Find out you put an extra space somewhere.
The better you got though you'd narrow down finding those errors quickly, and then eventually find out a fucking free program will color code the shit and tell you to look at line 232 because it doesn't make sense
The guy I saw back there had a beanie and his hood up on his hoodie, anything there would be a good idea for me. At 35 I've got that bald pattern starting to form in the back of my head (like the circle) and thinness on top. Mostly genetic, but a shitty diet and life habits I'm sure accelerated it to occur earlier in life.
Either way, no insulation up there haha.
Yeah I made a joke yesterday about Bezos and Metaverae getting integrated into government processes like the DMV and the first 2 ticks were down, I was like oh boy, here we go haha
Ah, by the looks of how many people downvoted you there I think it must have been missed. I wanted to be sure so I figured it best to just inquire and find out if there was something I was out of the loop on.
Thanks, I know my lips chap every year when it gets cold so I figured I'd need to try to find something for that. I usually do well in cold weather. But having grown up in Florida, I never really had elongated spans of being out in it now. Where I live now we get snow on the ground for a few days, but I haven't spent 8 hour chunks outside in it, so I figured getting advice would be better than going in blind.
All they asked is if I had boots. Steel toe or not I believe is always debated because steel toe may help against you dropping something moderately heavy on your foot, but if you roll a cart over a steel toe, it general bends into your foot, causing more damage trying to get your food out of said situation.
From what I saw it's mostly redistribution of cold product, think like Boars Head meats and such. So I assume hours of reorganizing items from the source to individualized boxes packed for shipping out to grocery stores.
I needed a quick job in the interim to pay for bills until I find something permanent. The whole ordeal was over quick. Saw someone putting out product at the store, asked him if they were hiring, he gave me a cell phone number and told me give Sam (fake name) a call
Called him and he told me to meet him at 11 the next day. I walked in, talked and he said to his workers I'm hiring this guy, told me I'll start Monday, and bring my SS card, ID, and bank info for direct deposit.
Never started working for a company before the paperwork has cleared, but what the hell.
I'll look into the composite toe thing, I likely will need to wait till the end of December to buy new shoes (so I have time to plan those)
You said you always trust Chinese companies and especially those funded by their government. I was asking why you give blind support to all of those companies, is there some track record you are going off of that shows them doing very well or something?
Yeah, that's why Biden started the process of having them re-evaluate what it was scheduled as. But to make it legal, the legislative branch has to write the legislation.
All the executive branch is supposed to do is execute legislation.
Those orders being what is written by the peoples representatives (Congressmen and senators).
Right now either:
A: the majority of Americans don't want marijuana legal and that's why it's illegal.
B. The representatives are not representing what the people want.
If the second one is true, it is our civic responsibility to vote those representatives out of office.
In 2020 and 2022 the decriminalization of it was voted on. If this is an issue you believe is misrepresented, every member of congress that voted against what you want you should want removed.
Then we need to look at the Senate and vote against every member who voted against it as well.
That's how the peoples voices are supposed to be heard. Is it the best system, no. But it's what we have and we don't have enough people wanting to change it.
Gloves and Boots Very Budget
Life does a lot, normally figures out how doggy works, but sorry for the language. If anyone here has worked in a cooler before, not just walk in fridges for restaurants or such I am looking for advice. They inquired about boots. I assume I need gloves, but what am I forgetting? ChapStick? Unknown? Please share and if you know what is cheap to acquire maybe recommend what you know. Thanks.
So you think he's still a Catholic or not?
From who, care to explain?
Can you tell me why?
While I agree they are doing well, why do you say trust?
Then figure out what you want and go to a trade school. Where do you live (state). Even Tennessee will pay for that if you live there. Trade schools were promoted by Obama when he tried to figure out free education. Yet the majority of voters faught it. That isn't the majority of people, it just means people like you, who want trade school made as an investment for the future was chopped short. But it doesn't mean it's over. Talk to your city, , county, state they may have people you can call for assistance. Often times, it's either the Catholic Church or government. Either doesn't matter. The Catholics won't require you to attend church or pledge some shit, they just want to know you fit their wage requirements to help as many people as possible.
I read the title and the body and I was like, what kind of journalist wouldn't list what kind of monkey it is in the title! Then I opened the article to read further... And immediately understood 99% of their audience wouldn't know wtf kind of monkey that was.
There are 3 issues that I have heard about EV's from skeptics and just people in general.
- Range
- Weight
- Saftey pertaining to fires
1 is being addressed drastically across the field 2 is as well if you look at any off the solid state batteries. For instance Honda is basing their advancements on using high density but creating smaller batteries, as they believe 1000 miles is going to be easily attainable but unnecessary for many users. So launching a vehicle with a 500 mile range that can charge faster and carry less weight is something they want in their repertoire. I would argue both 3 & 2 are being addressed in this setup IF what they are saying is true. It can cut back on fires, which scares buyers and gives ICE owners strawmen to pick at and try to make into a much larger issue than it really has been (at least in the U.S.). As for 2, it allows for a sturdy building block that attached to the frame, thereby cutting down on beams needing to be installed to brace the battery in place that already weighs more. IF they can keep the battery at the same weight, and not need the extra support beams, then you cut some of the extra weight. Throw in Hondas smaller batteries and all the sudden you have EV's going 500 miles, at the same weight of an ICE vehicle for the same price. Maintenance costs lower, impact on the environment drastically lower at that point, and charging an EV off your home electricity costs in most of America would be 1/3 of buying gas.
Edit to throw in, we don't have to ship oil tankers across the oceans constantly, cutting shipping impacts. (Some estimates show coal and oil shipments being up to 40% of our shipping overseas).
Agreed, that's why I was asking more about perception and mentioned it as an entertainment piece in the comment above. Sometimes speculation can be fun though. Some of my fondest memories of technology coming out aren't from the use, but the moments of discussion, expectations, and waiting. Like I never had a Wii, but I remember waiting for the Wii to launch at midnight back in the day. Sometimes you learn a lot more about a product than you would otherwise ever have looked into once it was already out by discussing the up and coming and comparing post launch.
Will I ever own this product.. I doubt it. But someday a product built off pieces of it's design or maybe even largely copied, possibly.
Wouldn't "The company is planning its official debut in the Korean market in January 2025." mean they are well beyond maybes if it is set to debut in less than 2 months? They already have had to produce the battery for the nail testings they mentioned as well as the adding and modifying of individual cells. I am no expert on batteries just interested and trying to learn more. But knowing how productions/releases work with cars/electronics in the U.S. I would have to assume they have had this completed for almost a year at least and are waiting on that debut to launch. Thereby making it entertainment journalism if you will because they just know bits of information as maybe more hasn't been leaked.
Cao Shuang revealed that BYD is planning to release the next generation of Blade batteries for EVs in 2025.
Does this burning at 200 j/g really mean it would be a lot safer or do you chalk this up to be company propaganda. Clearly it is a lot lower than gasoline, but since 600-900 proved to still be an issue, could this be enough to stabilize people's fears you think?
I'm sure this will get downvoted but whatever it seems fun to ramble. The president is basically a glorified cop. He can tell all of his soldiers to do his bidding, but a cop cannot act outside of the law without getting enough people to cover for him. If he breaks the law the legislature (review board in that example) would vote to have him removed from his position.
A cop cannot make up laws. He can lie to someone and say something potentially unlawful is legal but all lawfulness would be reviewed and depicted by the judicial branch from laws that were already written and the situation "rectified" in some manner (whether a slap on the wrist or extreme). Usually in the presidents case, they throw out what he said, or they request Congress to discuss it, which could start the impeachment process.
He commands what may currently be the most powerful army in the world, be he can only play with his toys when mom and dad say it is okay, and he has to be in bed by 9:30 as it's a school night.
That's why it is so much of a danger when one party owns both parts of the Legislative branch, easily the most powerful branch (so long as the constitution holds). If dad says you can go to bed at 10, and mom says no, bedtime stays at 9:30. If the party owns both congress and the senate, them mom and dad can agree bed time is at 11, and you can eat cake all you want. If the courts say cake is illegal after 6:30, mom and dad agree to write a new rule that cake time goes to 11. As we want our spoiled child to be able to run rampant.
I know all about it. 35. So it came into law when I was 11.
New 'doped' solid-state batteries can charge to 80 per cent in just nine minutes
I recently read through this and was just curious what others thought the pitfalls or unforseen issues might be with quickly or steadily transitioning to such in a fairly environmentally friendly manner.
Hate the title name, but I think I have to use the article title as the title.
App Server for phone apps
60 million apps keep getting pushed on us, and everyone wants their own... Every restaurant, gorcery store, etc.
Would it not be feasible to install all of those Kroger, Gas Stations, bloat, bloat, bloat apps on an app Server that we just have a remote access to them like a thin client from our phone in a singular app of shortcuts (look like a folder, directory) So all the apps stay installed and don't use resources on the phone. Which keeps storage requirements down on the local device and means when you go into another device you can just log in and have access to all the apps already signed in and how you left them.
Does anyone know if there is already such a setup?
It wouldn't work well with things like streaming services, but it could still cover a lot of day to day apps I don't really want to have to have on my device.

Search Profile Comments-
I usually don't think about it but I went to find a comment I made to find an old post. Is there a way we can integrate a search function for are own profile?
Hand-holding Mittens
My lady showed this to me so I figured I'd post it here... she may have been sending me a hint.
SAE has finalized its NACS certification effort, and the new standard promises to fix a *lot* of the current issues with EV charging.
I hate that the title for the article claims "every problem" but I wanted to hear other users thoughts on this article
Witness to the 1996 drive-by shooting of Tupac Shakur indicted on murder charge in rapper’s death
A grand jury in Las Vegas has indicted one of the last living witnesses to the 1996 killing of Tupac Shakur in the rapper’s death. Duane “Keffe D” Davis was charged Friday with murder.
