Be rest assured that the same complaints were talked about the Steam Deck itself, and since I own one and have some decently sized hands, I can assure you that Valve will do all they can to make sure it is just as comfortable as the Deck is to hold!
This is also coming from someone who found the Steam Controller cool, but I hated not having some normal thumb sticks for games that provide controller support built in.
All in all, I think this will be a beautiful merging of a normal controller with the touch pads being a huge plus for the Steam community to tinker with and release some amazing controller layouts, just like they do with the Deck!
If you're not sure of how useful the left trackpad is for not only scrolling in desktop mode or on older PC games, I would also like to mention that the Steam Community that you can use others layouts can sometimes make the left track pad so so so much more useful. I found a picture that shows just how many things you can fit into this useful part of the layout. I found out about it while I was playing some older games on the Deck with the help of the EmuDeck community.
If you haven't watched it, the anime was pretty damn well written, good animation, and pretty damn sad near the end.
Article here for anyone wanting to read about this.
I said the same damn thing. A few hours into the 5th, and Trump was over there yelling VOTER FRAUD! VOTER FRAUD! and then absolutely fucking nothing. Haven't heard a peep about it since. Funny how it's election fraud when he loses, but perfectly fine and normal when he wins. Hmmmm.....
"Two limbs is just as bad as 4 limbs, so I choose 4 limbs!"
If I repent of anything... by Henry David Thoreau
This quote popped up the other day, and I just wanted to share it. With everything going on in the world right now, and especially in my country personally, I can't help but wonder why I have always strove to be good and to do my best for not only myself, but everyone I have ever met. Maybe when I'm lying there dying from whatever is to come, I will fully regret being a "good" person.
You may know already, but you should try VSCodium. At least they took the Micro$hit telemetry out!
It may have been a joke to some on here, but no. The ReDUMBlicans were very very serious about Biden being "too old", and now that Trump is president elect, all those who were saying Biden is too old, suddenly stop feeling that way about their dear leader.
And what about when they threaten those people with killing their family, friends, and anything else they hold dear? What about demanding them or go to jail? Lose their home? Lots of things can happen.
This will be the last time I reply, okay? I do not have the energy to explain myself to some fucking fool with no reading comprehension. I’ll put it as simple as possible.
Just because I do not agree with something 100%, does not mean that I do not support it 100%.
If you had any reading comprehension skills, you’d have noted during my first comment I asked you where I said I didn’t think the credit deserved to exist at all. You never did that, by the way. You started blabbering about shit I already understand and support. That is precisely why I called you stupid. I never said it did not deserve to exist. I said I voted for Kamala anyway, because I understand the greater good. What are you not fucking getting?
Imagine that. A “leftist” who immediately attacked another actual left leaning person, because for some stupid fucking reason, they read an entire paragraph, and only came through with the sentence “that don’t jive with me, personally”. That’s it. That’s all it was. I didn’t agree with it completely, but still supported it.
That, in my opinion, is why I think you’re terrible about getting your “point” across. You had no point, because you went on the basis of a part of a huge paragraph, without even looking at the rest and digesting that and fully taking it in.
You just don’t get it.
My guy…
They can drop bombs on you from hundreds of miles away via an unmanned drone…
Would you people please remember the day and age we are in now? Holy shit.
I early voted in person unfortunately. One of the other comments said that there seemed to be some ballots that weren’t coming through customs.
Fucking stupid. Lol
Oof. Bad take, bad take.
Here’s the thing, I can still not personally like something, complain about not ever getting anything myself as a single non married person, while still voting for the person and that policy because I know it benefits the greater good.
You don’t seem to realize that people can dislike something, and feel left out of policies like these, but still support it for the greater good.
Next time before you call someone fucking self centered, how about getting more details.
Fucking asshole. Have a terrible terrible day today.
With record turnout out early voting. Don’t forget about that. The news were throwing that around a week before.
Can you go over my comment one more time, and point to me where I said I was against the credit completely? As in, I said I didn't think it deserved to be there at all?
The government allowed lies to be told on TV and on the internet under the guise of news. There were no real consequences to those who had listeners and repeated foreign government talking points for money. We have not seen any real investigation on how much interference was ran on social media.
I agree.
Nearly every human being believes that they are a good person making rational decisions, so its important to examine the environment around these people to where they can believe they made the right choice when it comes to electing Trump and sadly, it seems our mostly unregulated free speech that let it happen, because the republican party is more organized and effective in communicating their platform and slandering their opponents than democrats are, and they motivated more people to vote than the democrats could as a result. Anger and hate are strong emotions and motivators, and unfortunately the republicans keep on using them and it keeps on working.
I agree.
I have no idea what you're blaming Lemmy on, if anything I'd expect the userbase here to be more active and left-leaning voters than average. People have a good reason to be frustrated, and I think pointing that frustration at the only alternative option we had for a political party failing election after election to learn how to communicate and how to deliver on what the people really want is a reasonable take.
I'm basically pointing out how senseless some of these comments have been, on almost every single post about either Harris, Walz, or the DNC. The biggest problem this election, that we know of as of yet, was the absence of votes, and white men and women, Latino men and women, voting against a women of color.
The people here may be left-leaning, or at least say they are, but they have nothing but shit takes trying to blame Harris for a shit campaign. They actively chose to allow a fucking criminal to determine the future of their country. It is really quite a take, considering that she actually had policies, told you where to find them, and was CONSTANTLY berated on interviews and shit. Trump got softball questions, and no matter fucking what, he always got away with every single stupid and evil thing he did or said.
Crazy.
Just observing the major differences in attitude here. I'm agreeing with you, and wondering why the vitriol all being placed on Harris and her campaign, instead of on the voters who actively wanted and then voted for a felon.
People have the memory of a fucking brain dead goldfish. It is so frustrating, it makes me want to pull my eyeballs out.

King's Field IV: The Ancient City
Hello, all!
I have recently gotten into playing FromSoftware's older titles, namely King's Field and Shadow Tower: Abyss.
It's all thanks to a Youtuber called Majuular. I had no idea at all about these games, since at best I'm just a light and casual fan of Dark Souls 2/3, and Elden Ring. What I mainly enjoy about Dark Souls/Elden Ring is the exploration aspect, hence the casual.
I've got to say, if you haven't played King's Field IV: The Ancient City, or Shadow Tower: Abyss (Shadow Tower: Abyss is a Japan exclusive, but a fan translation patch is available!), and you enjoy romping through retro games with that certain something that only FromSoftware provides, please give these games a try!
To add context, after watching Majuular's video on King's Field, and his video on Shadow Tower's series, I started to look into more of From's older games, and found a game that is heavily inspired by King's Field called Lunacid. Well, I played the HELL out of Lunacid, and loved it so much, I started digging into finding other games like it! While this led me to find out that not a lot of games are in this niche of gaming, I did find a few! I can provide those to you if you so wish, just let me know!
I am happy to report that there is also a toolkit that can make similar games to King's Field, provided by FromSoftware all the way back in 2000, and lastly updated in 2001! This caused me to start looking for games that were made in this toolkit, and again, I did find some, but not a lot! I was also able to find a Remade demo for King's Field 2 by someone going by Rotmilldev, who did a wonderful job, and the only thing I'm disappointed by is that the demo is only the first part of the game!
Anyway, the real reason I am posting this is to get some discussions going on similar games, getting King's Field/Shadow Tower on people's radars that might incite some inspiration or interest, and to give any info I can to anyone interested in trying these forgotten gems!
As I am currently in King's Field IV right now, I can help anyone else who wants to spin it up for a try, and give some hints on settings or insights into why I'm falling in love with these games. If you are interested in it, I can also give you a .pnach file that will introduce better feeling controls for this game, at the cost of making it easier to fight any enemies due to the game being developed for a slower player character, which in turn means slower enemies to match.
Thanks for reading all this. I'm sorry to geek over it, but I would love to discuss it with anyone else interested! :)

I find this use of AI, like with 99% of the “uses” for AI to be not only disturbing as all hell, but shows that we are creeping closer and closer to bizarro world.
Recently set up dual boot..
EDIT: Pathfinder worked perfectly with the mods! I was even able to have it setup the exact same way by transferring the mods from my desktop mods folder to the decks folders. 👍
Hello, all!
I just wanted to post and say that dual booting with tiny11 has worked flawlessly so far, and I will update you all when I finish downloading Pathfinder and trying it out on the windows side. If it works well enough, I can boot back into SteamOS and delete it from there as I am wanting to play with a few mods and SteamOS breaks them due to UnityModManager being a windows only program.
If you have any questions, I can point you to where I found my answers, or I may even be able to provide some info to address any issues I was also running into during the process. 👍
Preserving dynamic webpages
Cheat sheet for Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin. Checklist of things to do, items to get etc.
Is there any way at all for me to preserve webpages like this so that if the website goes down or the webpage is abandoned I may still use the web page as intended? I guess I could take a chunk of time out of the day to recreate this in an excel sheet, but I wanted to ask here just in case there is a smarter way to do it.
Thank you!
Wanting to move out of the US?
Hello, all! Longtime lurker on Reddit and now on Lemmy. I’ve tried looking into getting out of the US as things aren’t looking too great as I’m sure many of you know, but wanted some tips from those of us who have gotten out. Where did you decide to move to, and what were the things you looked at when deciding to move there? How did you go about the process? What are some stories you can tell about the immigration process? Where can I start? How can I realistically make it happen? I hope this isn’t silly to you all, as it matters quite a lot to me and I’m genuinely interested in getting away from here for good. Thank you all for your time!
