This will look just spectacular on my grocery bill. Prolly like 75% of my produce comes from Mexico right now.
There was a time not too long ago where I would have just assumed a move this clearly douchey and against your customers' desires would lead to nothing but a complete evacuation of those customers, but I've seen this movie play out enough times to know that somehow, someway, this will work out just fine for them. People will complain, swallow it whole, keep on using it, and finally just forget about it.
This is exactly what will happen. Same thing with Albertsons and Kroger too.
You can expand the chats too so I don't even think there's missing user input... I'm a mega idiot lol. The more I look at this the more I'm convinced this is legit.
You're right I misread the text log and thought Gemini responded twice in a row at the end but it looks like it didn't. Very messed up stuff... There's still missing user input tho and a lot of it. And Id love to see exactly what was said as a prompt
I mean like two individual consecutive sent messages. Like if you and I were texting and you sent two different texts in a row without me sending one in between. I've never seen Gemini do that (or any other AI I've messed with). In fact, that same method is how penguinz0 discovered his AI was lying to him when it said it was actually a human recently. It was unable to send two consecutive but individual messages even when asked multiple times.
At the end of this it looks an awful lot like Gemini did just that with the second individual message being the messed up thing. Again, this is totally possible. I've just never seen it and it makes me think there was a prompt in there from the user that is missing.
One thing that throws me off here is the double response. I haven't used Gemini a ton but it has never once given me multiple replies. It is always one statement per my one statement. You can see at the end here there's a double response. It makes me think that there's some user input missing. There's also missing text in the user statements leading up to it as well which makes me wonder what the person was asking in full. Something about this still smells fishy to me but I've heard enough goofy things about how AIs learn weird shit to believe it's possible.
Edit: I'm an absolute moron. The more I look at this the more it looks legit. Let the AI effort to destroy humanity begin!
Lol we're already there. 2019 was the most cases the US has seen since the measles were declared eradicated in the country. New York and Washington declared an official state of emergency for it. This year is barely better and we are perilously close to losing its elimination status which would (obviously) make us the only developed nation to hold that honor.
Fun fact, this year 97% of cases were found in people that were not fully vaccinated. Of course this is merely a huge coincidence and vaccines serve no other purpose than turning us and the neighboring wildlife gay but it's worth noting.
Is the tide changing? I feel like the GOP has been dicking the veterans over my whole life and they're still like their biggest and strongest supporters. Leopards and faces and all that.
I dunno I disagree. I think he'd like nothing more than if NASA just completely disappeared. I've thought that since the second they started talking about him guiding fiduciary spending. Once NASA is out of the picture, it's all SpaceX all the time. Trump is already most of the way there anyway. "His rocket company is the only reason we can now send American astronauts into space."
This is part of the plan I suspect.
The excess funds initially allocated for the purchase will be reinvested into our philanthropic efforts that include business school scholarships for promising cult leaders, a charity that donates elections to at-risk third world dictators, and a new pro bono program pairing orphans with stable factory jobs at no cost to the factories.
These are the kinds of hard hitting issues that the people actually care about but were mysteriously absent in the talks leading up to the election. It's just crazy how out of touch politicians are these days.
Lol if I had a dollar for every time I've heard about the next CoD killer
I just checked in Android and it's surprisingly #8. Friggin threads is #3 which is shocking cause I never hear or see anything about it. X is at #25 just behind mcdonalds lol. I'm not smart enough to know exactly what that means tho because pretty much everyone already has X/Twitter/whatever the fuck it's called so of course that wouldn't show up super high on there. I've also had multiple phones with it preloaded onto the OS.
Of course instagram and tik tok and Snapchat and Whatsapp are all pretty high up there so maybe it's pretty solid evidence of that dumpster fire actually burning.
The older I get the more I realize everyone is an idiot. I'm an idiot, everyone I work with is an idiot. Politicians are idiots. Celebrities are idiots. Old, young, doesn't matter. We all float down here and you will all get treated like the idiot I am 🙃
Oh don't worry! That's what the checks and balances is for. There will always be a check to the executive branch. Sure the executive branch is Republican but the Senate won't be-... Well wait okay it is but at least the house-... Well alright they'll have the executive branch, the house, and the Senate, but the judicial branch is still going to be able to-.... Well at the very least two of them are about to retire and will be replaced with ppl hand picked by president so th-....
Well at least the ice cream machines at McDonald's can be fixed independently now... That's something right?
I'm also legitimately convinced that the average American person is just an asshole and likes other assholes. Trump is the most conceited, whiney, cry baby, know it all, jagoff and everybody knows it. He wears it like a medal. And people love it man. They just eat it up.
It's just like Carlin said. The politicians come from us. Because they are us.
I am so happy they're putting up new videos. The election stuff is fantastic.
We're in weird times tho. The wealth gap isn't just widening, it's fucking Usain Bolt sprinting away from us. The rich get richer, the poors get to eat the bag of shit that trickles down. So yeah, I'm sure there will be a rapid recovery to a healthier, sustainable economy... If you are in the top 1%. If not, well, you should have just worked harder and got rich dummy.
After a remarkably short court hearing, Elon Musk has found the presiding judge in his own case guilty of "the woke mind virus" and sentenced him to 47 years in jail. The jury watched the ruling read in Musk's own halting and strange speech, collectively shrugged their shoulders, and went home. "Well he has all that money," said Anne Sodding, one of the jurors on the case. "He must be right, I guess." Mr. Musk has declined to comment and was last seen driving his Tesla Cyber Truck the wrong way down a one way street exiting the courthouse.
I work in this space. There's a wide variety of reasons, a company being dumb and greedy is definitely among them but typically just a tiny part of the equation. The biggest thing is certified vendors. The military/government is incredibly strict with who they'll contract with. Which means the supply is incredibly limited on many things, which in turn means that companies will ratchet up prices a crazy amount in part to deal with the goofy standards that the government requires on their goods but also because they know the demand far outweighs the supply.
There is also the burden of time. The US government drags their feet an INSANE amount on projects. It scales with size as well. The larger the project the slower things move almost every time. It very frequently gets to a point where they need stuff done right now because they waited too long and will pay pretty much any price to do it.
There is also the fact that the military is operating with a budget chalk full of "fuck you money." In short, money is immaterial. Half the time they don't even look at the price, whatever it costs doesn't matter, just get it done and get it done right.
My company marks up shit an insane amount and I know for a fact pretty much every other certified vendor is as well. I dunno about 8k% (lol) markup but honestly that doesn't shock me. The prices I've seen are jaw dropping. And they pretty much never get negotiated or rejected.
Why isn't Lemmy searchable on a search engine?
Why don't Lemmy posts (from any instance) show up on search engines? Like if I try my hardest to get a thread to show up, virtually nothing from the actual instances in the fediverse comes up. I'm sure if I searched the exact url or something I could get it but it's very noticable that the search engines by and large just kind of gloss over posts on here and I'm not sure why.
This stinks cause that was one of the biggest draws for reddit. So many times when you search some super obscure or specific question you'd get a few reddit threads with all sorts of information.
