I'm actually kinda surprised you haven't seen them. I think I used to see them a lot when the comic first started getting posted.
I can't decide if that's a good thing or bad thing. My first reaction was to read it as,
"Someone oughta [bed] you [yinglet]." With "bunk" referring to a bunk bed, "yingy" being short for "yinglet"; the implied meaning being that someone should fuck you. However, that requires some knowledge of the furry community (or at least furry webcomics).
The alternative is that they're saying that someone should render you "bunk" (like bunk science; worthless), and I have no idea what yingy would refer to.
Border collies tend to be hyper intelligent as far as dog breeds go. You can train them to do anything even when their muzzle is going grey. Be warned that, like most intelligent animals, this means you'll have your hands full; but the tradeoff is that they tend to have a ton of personality.
Mac (the first dog I remember having) basically trained me to fetch.
Sirius (second dog) came up with his own game; the downstairs of my parents house is kinda like a loop, with a pair of doors leading from the kitchen to the dining room, and he loved to play "go around". If you closed the doors he'd go around to try and catch you before you could get to the other side; and sometimes he'd fake-out, where he'd run from the living room to the hallway, and then turn around and come back. He would get so excited that he'd actually parkour off the wall to turn around. He also loved it if you just ran away and hid while he was running to the other side of the doors.
Brigid (current dog) loves playing with blankets and sometimes accidentally gets herself wrapped up in them. You can tell she was having fun if the floor is covered in blankets.
Source: mom loves border collies, so we always had one. I like them too because they're a lot of fun.
Edit: if you wanna push them and see what they can handle, try something like fluent pet and see how many words they can learn. I haven't tried it with Brigid, but I wish it had been a thing with Sirius; he was so ridiculously intelligent that I bet he would have been able to hold simple conversations with it.
The clown on the right looks like Columbo. Which, okay, Columbo was a bit of a clown, but it was an intentional act.
Unfortunately you can't get them anymore. You gotta get them from eBay or something. They were collectable coins from what I read. I'm actually in the US, but I woulda bought a set and had them shipped here if they were still selling them.
Who said anything about having kids lmao? Imagine thinking anyone competent enough to handle a polyamorous relationship would be irresponsible enough to have kids in this day and age when we're staring down the barrel of climate change and all the oil barons and coal dealers are pulling the trigger as hard as possible.
Takes a deep breath hooookay. So, polyamory is not the same as polygamy. For one thing, polygamy tends to be traditionally associated with a strict hierarchy in which one individual holds control. It also tends to be associated with religious/cult systems, doesn't require the consent or knowledge of all members, and quite frankly is probably more comparable to being a whitewashed form of harem than an actual loving relationship type. Finally, it specifically refers to people who are married to one another, regardless of feelings or consent.
Polyamory, on the other hand, requires consent. Instead of referring to many marriages, it refers to many loves. It requires that all members stay informed and consenting, otherwise the relationship can't continue. It requires you to be communicative and empathetic to the needs of the other members while also caring for yourself. Equating polyamory with polygamy is a bit like equating Linux with Windows. The end result can appear similar at first glance, but the mechanics are very different under the hood.
Not in the US we don't lmao.
Weed (not legal in all states)
Most hallucinogens (at least for medical or supervised use)
Being trans (lotta states trying to ban me)
Being gay (they're probably next)
Abortion (many states ban this now)
Free healthcare (not technically illegal, per se)
Being homeless
Polyamory (not technically illegal afaik, but there are a lot of legal benefits that married couples get which aren't extended to polyamorous relationships due marriage being restricted to couples only)
The list goes on because while there are many basic things that aren't technically illegal, the system is set up in a way to fuck you because of the required profit motive behind offering basic necessities in a capitalist society.
It's real. You could get them from the Australian Post.
I'm not googling today, I'm pissed with my life. Yep I'll be fine tomorrow, just now I'm not, thx for caring, moving on.
Hope you feel better, dude! No idea what's making you feel bad, but life is pretty shitty right now, it's understandable to feel like garbage.
I'm mad. I didn't know about this until now. How could they make this limited edition?
Yeah, uh, have fun with that. Microsoft tried that with the Windows Phone but it sucked because of the lack of apps. From what I remember, they weren't terrible phones per se, they just had no third-party support. Granted, it sounds like they're being proactive in trying to get app developers on their OS, but for me personally, it's usually the small, niche things that can make or break a device for me.
I actually kinda wish Microsoft would bring back the Windows phone now that phones have gotten significantly more powerful and Microsoft has their universal windows platform thingy alongside their cisc compatibility layer (I could be wrong, but I'm almost certain I remember reading that ARM windows has a compatibility layer for x86_64 programs). I probably wouldn't buy one, but it'd be cool to see what kinda competition would come from having a phone platform that has compatibility with most windows programs.
I dunno. From what I've seen, comic movie fans can be pretty progressive. I could see them feeling uncomfortable with the idea of Captain America right now.
Something tells me that a movie with a character that represents the "American spirit" won't be super popular right now, no matter what the actual subject matter is.
Am furry can confirm this is kinda how it works lmao. Furries can also be massive nerds, but the horny and trauma can overshadow the nerd-outs (edit: the horny and roleplay help deal with the trauma).
Just deselect the card. Alternatively, click the sell button to sell it.
Yeah, but I'm pretty sure the people in this post specifically are pedos. Idk what the fuck is going on in Alberta, and I don't know if this is the same law, only that I keep seeing these posts popping up from pedos celebrating a proposed(?) law that'd make it easier for them to groom children and harder to prosecute them. In this case, opt-in sex ed means that kids are less educated and less likely to understand when they've been sexually abused, and it's harder for kids to trust teachers if the teachers are required to turn around and tell Mom and Dad.
I don't think most people care. Granted, maybe it's the dysphoria speaking, but I love it when someone calls me "girl" and I'm 30. None of the people I know care. If anything it feels more familiar to call someone a girl or a boy than a man or a woman. The latter two feel very "official", while the former feel casual.
Also I've absolutely heard girls call a group of men, "boys". Like, one of the white suburban mom stereotypes is to call her husband and his friends, "the boys". Like, "hey honey, how was hanging out with the boys" or "oh, he's off with the boys doing who knows what".
<3
Edit: it's... sadly very easy to forget that you don't deserve the hate, which is why I didn't put this in my post. It's something I've been trying to work through lately.
Crocs. I got my first pair when I was a teenager and they still work now (edit: 30yrs old); though I recently got a new pair because the bottoms were completely smooth on the old pair.
"Ugly" cars. Aka Pontiac Aztec, PT Cruiser, Fiat Multipla, etc. Yeah, they might be ugly as sin, but they're more interesting from a visual standpoint. I'd rather have the road filled with ugly cars than filled with cars that mostly look the same.
Dio (rule)
Dio stands on the roof of a McDonald's and pisses into the air conditioner while the Todd Moon watches.
Just a reminder, AI-generated files are public domain (rule).
Afaik no one knows where the line between "human-made" and "machine-made" is, so AI-generated imagery is considered public domain (at least for now).
WTF is up with awful.systems?
I recently saw a couple posts on techtakes and holy shit their members are, well, awful. Is this some kinda metajoke or running gag? Their members tend to have positive comment scores despite being massive assholes. That seems out of character for Lemmy which is why I'm confused and wondering if there's some kinda running gag I missed.
Private healthcare doesn't (rule)
Leading up to his death:
-----
For those of you outside of the community (and possibly wondering why the furry side of social media is on fire), Dragoneer did a hell of a lot for the furry community. FurAffinity is the largest furry art host and social network; he could have sold out and allowed AI, or made the site friendly to corporate advertising, but he didn't.
He intentionally didn't.
If he had, he probably would have been able to afford healthcare, but he didn't.
He died because he wanted to keep the site in the community instead of whoring it out to corporations, resulting in him not having the money for healthcare when he needed it the most. I wish I'd been more aware of what was going on because I would have chipped in to help (if he'd allowed it).
It makes me fucking furious that the US, the country with the highest GDP in the world by 10 TRILLION DOLLARS, still allows this to happen.
RIP Dragoneer, we'll never forget you. Wherever you are, I hope it's filled with fur, feathers, scales and wagging tails.

Rule.
Edit: I was trying to make a joke about how her new fondness for the number "34" was because "haha funny sex rule number" aka "rule34".
Question about federation with a certain instance after a recent ban.
Hey, I recently received a 14-day ban from lemmy.ml for this comment:
While I suppose it wasn't the nicest thing I could have said, here's what bothers me. They cited rule 1 as the ban reason. Now, lemmy.ml's news community doesn't have its own rules section, so I was left to assume that they were applying the instance-wide "rule 1" which was, "no bigotry".
No Bigotry.
Apparently calling someone a tankie and a redfash accelerationist is bigotry? Are they seriously trying to equate being a tankie with being trans, gay, black and/or native american? Seriously? That's incredibly bigoted and offensive; and that's ignoring the fact that the common tankie idols like Stalin, Putin, Xi Jinping and Kim Jong-un are deeply intertwined with things like nationalism, ethnic superiority, queerphobia and the like.
Meanwhile, their modlog shows that they've dealt with multiple instances of actual queerphobic bigotry by removing the comment while also letting the user go.
Do we really want to be associated with bigots like that?
The thing that sucks is that there are communities I genuinely enjoy on lemmy.ml, however getting banned for bigotry after calling someone a tankie and redfash accelerationist while actual bigots are allowed to keep hanging out on lemmy.ml is like a slap to the face.
I'm honestly considering leaving Lemmy and social media at this point. It seems like my two choices are corporate-owned black-box algorithms populated by soft-spoken bigots and pissed-off centrists looking for an axe to grind, and FOSS-based federated platforms where you still have to tolerate bigotry because there apparently aren't enough users and interesting content otherwise.
Inb4 I start getting harassed by lemmy.ml admins or something.

MFW it's dark outside and I'm hungry and kinda cold and lonely and I just wanna come in for snacks and blankets but the human doesn't let me in. (rule)
Edit for people who are curious: it's not Photoshop, it's a troodontid mask made by Archesuchus for their "Weird Birds" series. Here's what it looks like under normal lighting conditions.
Not gonna lie, I really, really want one. But fursuit heads are expensive (I'm assuming the cost would be similar since that's basically what it is) and I don't have the skill or tools to make one myself. :c
Rule of the lake
Description: A giant snake lady sits in a lake. A man stands next to the edge of the lake and asks, "O snake of the lake, what is your wisdom?"
The snake replies, "Osamu Tezuka, the inventory of manga and anime, created old-school furry icons like Kimba and Bagi and had a secret collection of erotic furry art that he made which was only found after his death; so weebs are really just a human-focused offshoot of furries.
