Can I use graphene with a carrier locked device?
  • Not an Android pro, just dabble in it, I guess first question is do you mean T-Mobile USA? Second, the phones I have seen that brand themselves on boot (like almost all Samsungs in last 10 years) do so because the hardware maker decided on that function. As I understand it Pixels do not do any such thing. Lastly I have never heard of a carrier that can lock a bootloader. The only carrier I have ever heard of doing any relocking was Sprint USA, and even then they couldn’t actually relock an unlocked phone, so they would report it stolen worldwide and thereafter would only allow activation on their platform (which sounds illegal but they were swallowed by T-Mobile before they got called out on it)

  • Yeah but Jordanlund and flyingsquid love to comment on anything that isnt Pro-Israel, while saying they arent Pro-Israel, and making sure you know they feel persecuted solely because of their religion. btw squid hows that move? I wanna throw a lemmy party once you self deport.

  • Child care cost as much as rent for many families at inflation’s peak, new data shows
  • Not in my neck of the woods, they are aiming for 25 kids per teacher eventually in NYC 🙄, and meanwhile some older NY folks say we baby the young cause they were upto 50 to a teacher when they went to school, like we shouldn't try to progress.

  • I am in the northeast and it is heavily regulated down to how many hours staff can be on duty and levels of staffing, the simple fact is that especially for those under twelve (where the rules are generally at least two people at all times for a group of ten, under three is literally 1 person per two children), ensuring that you have 10-12 hours of sufficient coverage (most ppl work 8-9 hours plus travel time to work) from background checked and fingerprinted persons while also feeding the children and keep a commercial building open is expensive.

  • Gabe Newell says no-one in the industry thought Steam would work as a distribution platform—'I'm not talking about 1 or 2 people, I mean like 99%'
  • Yeah I am old enough to remember it being just a launcher (ala Ubisoft or EA games) for Half life 2 and a way to counter-strike with no mods. TBH I thought it was gonna fail hard and then after a decade of success, even I was stuck on steam. Also to add originally they only sold valve games as literally no third party was willing to give them a cent and they were short on IP.

  • Bragg suggests suspending Trump's hush money sentencing, perhaps for 4 years
  • What upsets me the most, is that the most possible outcome of a New York Class E felony conviction, conditional discharge isn’t being discussed despite it being the only outcome with sense, how is a four year delay even considered an option?

  • What you rather?
  • To me the funniest part is that telemetry is usually for ads to convince people to buy stuff, and secondly for nation states to track you, but the debloat crowd usually never leaves home (a registered address) or buys anything, and surprisingly apt at credit card points with the money they do spend (the og trackers).

  • Lawyer Says His Client Testified That She Saw Gaetz Having Sex With Underage Girl
  • A lawyer representing two women who testified that former Representative Matt Gaetz paid them for sex told multiple news outlets on Monday that one of the women described witnessing Mr. Gaetz having sex with an underage girl at a party in 2017.

The lawyer, Joel Leppard, told CBS News, ABC News and CNN about his clients’ testimony to the House Ethics Committee, which was investigating allegations about Mr. Gaetz and young women, as well as accusations of drug use.

Mr. Gaetz resigned last week shortly after President-elect Donald J. Trump announced he planned to nominate the Florida lawmaker to be his attorney general, despite having been investigated by the Justice Department previously.

After the resignation, Speaker Mike Johnson announced that he would not make public the committee’s report because Mr. Gaetz was no longer in office.

Mr. Leppard, speaking to ABC News, said one of the women testified that “in July of 2017, at this house party, she was walking out to the pool area, and she looked to her right, and she saw” Mr. Gaetz “having sex with her friend, who was 17.”

He told CNN that Mr. Gaetz later discovered the girl was underage.

Both women also told the committee that they were paid for sex using the Venmo, Mr. Leppard said.

Mr. Gaetz has previously denied the allegations. A Trump spokesman did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment.

Mr. Gaetz is one of several controversial nominees whom Mr. Trump has announced he will submit for Senate confirmation. But he is the one who has provoked the most negative reactions from Republican senators.

  • Kamala Harris pushes donors for more after raising US$1B+ in electoral defeat
  • So much failure in this article,

    1. Over a billion dollars to lose to one of the most hated persons

    2. A billion dollars was still not enough for the campaign

    3. They are seeking out more money from small donors aka working class

    4. They stopped paying staffers, but worried about paying celebrities back

    5. She is requesting money to fight Trump picks despite the fact that Harris will have no capacity to do so

    6. The fine print on these appeals to the heart say most of the money is going to the DNC, and what doesn’t will fund a recount 🙄

If anybody thinks these clowns learned something, they clearly didn’t, the campaign is essentially a billionaire asking people who work 9-5 to subsidize their costs. But supporting third party instead of clowns is the crazy take on changing the status quo.

  • www.opb.org Railroad agrees to $600 million settlement for fiery Ohio derailment, residents fear it’s not enough

Norfolk Southern has agreed to pay $600 million in a class-action lawsuit settlement related to a fiery train derailment in February 2023 in eastern Ohio

Railroad agrees to $600 million settlement for fiery Ohio derailment, residents fear it’s not enough

Per this source, a 25 mile radius includes 585,000 people. That means (before lawyer fees so imagine half in actuality), Norfolk-Southern wants to give $1,000 per person for permanently poisoning not only their property but their body which is now forever scarred. This was filed for approval by the Plaintiff (people hurt) but as shown in the story and simple math show this can't be appropriate for a company with billions in revenue. Unfortunately this may also (not sure about insurance's involvement) represent a third of their cash on hand 2023 Annual Report pdf page 58/their k48. I personally believe this is unjust and would love to hear other opinions and/or other information such as the index number for this (I have not diligently searched/PACER looked, but usually at least one news sources mentions a caption or docket number).
