Steal everything that isn't nailed down while you've still got a chance.
I think part of this has to be related to the idea that you cant do good, creative, interesting things on e the number of cooks in the kitchen gets above a certain size, which might actually be quite small. I mean look at terraria and stardew valley. Microscopic dev teams with impact the size of asteroids in terms of total effect and the long term impact on gaming.
I think "good" in media is an extension of having a singular vision for what you are trying to do. Focus too much on crowd pleasing and you lose the plot.
I bought Witcher 3 AND ALL dlc for like 8 dollars last year during this sale.
Lol. We better fucking hope that agi is around the corner because if this dog starts consuming and regurgitating it's own barf, we're well and truly fucked.
It's a sign. People are going to start planking again.
She's got a time turner. She'll be able to take potions AND herbology.
For all the critisism they rightfully deserve, this is something TYT has manifest in their Operation Joy campaign, where the hosts and the audience focus on things that bring them joy for a half our segment once a week.
if we can just focus on this across the fediverse, it unlocks a superpower no other form of social media has.
Great example is those loops videos. I want to watch them or at least give them a chance but I'm not leaving Lemmy to do so.
very forceful very legal very cool.
💯
Also, we're surrounded by utter morons who are also disinterested in correcting or recalibrating their world views.
Yep. 15 years in the trade. I even put together some cute python code to make bar plots where the bars were in the pattern of Vanilla vines with leaves in them. I just literally do not have the time to get back into it because I'm either writing or analyzing on 5 other papers at once and I've got two teams of analysts on other projects that I have to provide leadership for. It's just not something I can justify spending my free time on.
It's important to me that my hobbies don't become burdensome so I'm more than happy to just let it sit for a time where I have a couple free cycles to write it up and publish. Well probably just get it out as a note in a local ag journal. We took the data with the intention of building a growing degree day model for Vanilla.
I try to keep my thinking in line with scientific materialism. That also means things I believe need to be falsifiable, which means, I don't entirely believe them. There there always needs to be a bit of a hole or escape hatch in any truth to prevent it from becoming dogma.
I don't "believe" what I'm about to say, but it's something that has come up for me many times under psychedelics, which is the concept of a 'consciousness first' manifestation of reality. It's the closest thing I have to a spiritual or supernatural belief, and it's not really a belief because I don't believe it, but I do entertain the idea from time to time. The basic argument is that we've got the order of operations backwards, that the universe doesn't manifest consciousness through emergent properties, but rather that consciousness manifests universe concepts and scenarios that end up being plausible. This concepts extends the concept of consciousness to all matter and energy as well, because it all ends up being one and the same. I think of it as an extension of some Taoist thinking around wei wu wei where, because one is aught to find what they are looking for, if we can step back and stop dictating what we think/demand reality to be, reality may actually be much more fluid if we aren't so dogmatic in our thinking about it.
Anyways, I don't really believe any of that. But I think it would make for good science fiction, although it's already been done extremely well by Le Guin in her novella The Lathe of Heaven.
EU needs to deploy some troops. If NK is helping rRussia, Ukraine's allies need to step up. EU is still hiding under the carpet that neoliberalist world order will save them.
its audio should just be roaring at full decibel. You can put it on to tune out any relatives trying to tell you about how America is going to be great again, again.
They should stop making shitty cars.
Bumping this because it's a worthwhile read. This thread is a time capsule.
Well I had the call right. We swapped out the candidate and we instantly got ten points back in the board. More even at the midpoint of the convention.
Had it been Biden EC would have gone 400 to Trump. At least that's what his internal polling at the time of this comment had him at.
Sure I'll go. I grow vanilla as a side project to many other things. I've done some controlled backyard experiments with replication between my vineyard and another in my community to look at the impact of temperature on growth rates.
We plan on publishing but I've got enough day job publications going at once right now that a hobby paper is something I have a hard time justifying the time for, but the data is done and collected. We just used one and paper.

Does a loose magical catalyst imply that there is an alchemy pot on that level?
(Evan can't answer)
I've noticed in a couple games that I'll find a magical catalyst outside of the room with the alchemy pot, and sometimes I'll also discover a hidden secret room with an extra alchemy pot and usually two bonus energy crystals in it.
Is it implied that when you find a loose catalyst there is probably also an alchemy pot room in that level?

Here are the top recipients of the campaign's billion dollars of spending.
> After raising more than $1 billion, the Kamala Harris campaign is expected to end up with millions of dollars of debt once it’s done paying vendor invoices. The debt will likely get passed along to the Democratic National Committee and could burden the party as it works to rebuild after its catastrophic election season. > > President-elect Donald Trump is already scoring political points over the Democrats’ debt issues. Over the weekend, Trump wrote on Truth Social, “Whatever we can do to help them during this difficult period, I would strongly recommend we, as a Party and for the sake of desperately needed UNITY, do. We have a lot of money left over in that our biggest asset in the campaign was ‘Earned Media,’ and that doesn’t cost very much.” > > You’ve probably heard already about some of the Harris campaign’s most outlandish splurges, like the $1 million it paid to the media company of surrogate Oprah Winfrey, or running ads on the Las Vegas Sphere, or spending six figures to build a set for the “Call Her Daddy” podcast while declining to appear for free on the Joe Rogan podcast.
