Good for you OP! Spanish is such a rich, beautiful sounding language.
My best bet, aside from full immersion is to first, take lessons in order to learn good foundations and know how stuff works and then, hire a language coach who can help you with your specific request.
Source: I help people doing exactly that. Some want to learn an accent, some want to lose an accent, some people need help getting more confident in their second or third language, etc.
I thought I knew stuff about nutrition, then I hired a professional and learned that lots of so called "healthier" or "better" foods were not so. I also learned not to think about food in terms of good or bad, food has no morals. It has been a great adventure to learn so much about how to take care of myself and feed me in the best way that I can each day.
It is! We were expecting him back in January.
No of course not. They deserve to know the truth and share the joy.
Kind of related: The barn where my kid goes to for lessons has an option for the horse owners that in case their animal dies (there are strict rules about the cause of death etc), the animal's corpse can be donated to the local zoo to feed carnivores.
My SO works from another continent from time to time, he has been gone for a month now but today he told me that he's going to be home for christmas. My kid is going to be over the moon!
Dude, that would have been a great start for my day, like, first accomplishment done! Plus it is great coming back home to a "no chore house" as we call it: No garbage to take out, no meal to cook, no toys to be picked up, no laundry to be fold, etc. I absolutely love the feeling of it.
Exactly this. I am not an american, I do not live in the USA but I can tell you first hand that this is the mentality they have.
Gentrification is on an all time high because of these self called expats have come and stayed in hordes plus there is no actual regulation for them and coming in as they please.
I will give you an example: Chelem used to be a small tiny village near Mérida in the Yucatán península then snowbirds discovered it and now locals cannot afford to live there anymore! It was bad before the pandemic but became unbearable after they starting arriving massively. Oh but the governement says it's OK because they created so many jobs by coming here and letting locals cook for them, clean their houses, do their gardening. It is absolutely disgusting and heartbreaking.
This sucks. I am sorry for your absolutely devastating decision, OP. It is so hard and so hurtful to have to choose and yet there is so much grace and love in doing so. I am sending you a hug and the promise that he will be hurting no more❤️
Thanksbfor the reply. I like the idea about getting ideas from other media! Thanks
I remember my dad doing it and it brings back good memories for me: The smell, the sounds.
What's your preferred medium? Do you have a way to make art everyday? I feel stuck at times and learning about how and what other art interested people Do gives me ideas.
- Setting and enforcing boundaries around holidays.
- Sticking to a consistent sleeping schedule.
- Exercising most days than not.
- Listen to me first and keep tuning out all outside noise.
- Managing things step by step in the best way circumnstances allow.
Ay dios mio! I never knew this and always thought of it as cheesy vacation song.
Family left for a camping trip so I had a weekend all for myself. Went to an XVIII convent with a friend and it was great! Last time I had gone to one was like fifteen years ago so this made me very happy.
Later had fish fish for dinner, family is not too happy about my fish cooking choices.
Next day I went shopping for art materials and had lunch at a nice coffee place, then came back and baked brownies so the house would smell delicious when my people came back.
Well, I kept trying to squat like most people do trying so hard not to lean forward and kept falling over on my ass lol. That and also I couldn't feel the work in my glutes, only quads. Are you familiar with the way little children squat? I still can't do it but getting better every day by practicing.
Turns out I have super tight hips and that prevented me of hinging correctly, plus the aformentioned femur/torso ratio.
I hired a personal trainer in january of this year to help me out with stuff and she helped me correct my form. Now I use a pair of those foam wedge things under my heels to prop me up in a better position and I can squat way better. It was a game changer.
Learning the proper way to squat for my long femurs/short torso body. It makes such a difference in how and where I feel the muscle work. Knees over toes be damned!
She's a cutie! What's her name? I like her coat.
I had insomnia for decades. I did everything under the sun: workout, hot shower, warm milk, counting, breathing techniques, melatonin (beware of side effects with continous use), no screens, etc etc. Nothing worked and then per my doctor's orders I take magnesium glycinate and it works like magic
I always get my SO three things every year: one thing he really wants (This year is a pair of submarine shears), something he needs (New hiking boots) and something that he wouldn't get for himself (A week in cabin/shack at secluded beach in the caribbean to fish, scuba dive and relax).
Beautiful selection! I especially liked Reedy's work.
Mystery/ crime/ horror novel recommendations?
ETA: I have read and downloaded many of your recommendations and have had lots of fun reading them! You are such a welcoming enthusiastic bunch. Thanks a lot! Still looking for more suggestions in case someone wants to add to the ever growing list. So far this year I have read twenty seven books.
Looking for some good mystery novels/short story compilation, etc. Preferably no sci fi or futuristic stuff, no Stephen King. TIA.
FWIW just finished reading "We have to talk about Kevin" by Lionel Shriver. It was OK.
Do any of you get into a feeding rut at times? Do you particularly enjoy/hate it?
As stated above. I can go months without eating an egg, for example, and suddenly crave eggs benedict for breakfast everyday.
Good thing is my dietitian is aware of this executive dysfunction/quirk/habit and works closely with me to help me out planning meals in a way that works me.
Right now I am on a soup kick: Soup, soup, soup everyday, all day.
