So much text in one message comes across as monologuing. It makes sense that someone would only be interested if it involves something they're very interested in or passionate about.
The same amount of information broken up across several messages usually comes off better and invites a conversation. Especially if you wait for a response before going on with your subject.
Edit, also be open to the conversation moving away from the subject you wanted to go on about. Constantly moving the conversation back to your topic so you can finish your thought doesn't work out well
Ah, so getting things out of the trash could be legal, but making a mess from a dumpster should have consequences
A car being used as a place to live becomes a need for the owner of said car.
Oh, well then this project fits perfectly. The whole point was to stop throwing out jeans and buying more just to send them through the shredder of outdoor work. Nice!
Oh, so that's the attitude. Make an easily misunderstood statement to feel superior to anyone who doesn't figure out the hidden meaning.
And if the vigilante thinks they are absolutely justified to shoot someone for walking across their lawn?
This post goes there? I suppose I did make a sewing-less repair to some clothes
That's what I'm going for, yes.
Well, I mean, someone's evil ex shouldn't park in front of their house. And people should not park for a nap in a handicap spot. And not in the driving portion of a road, not in the breakdown lane of a major highway, not on anyone's lawn.
But yeah, basically any place where parking is allowed, sleeping while parked should be allowed and protected.
Sleeping in a car that you own.
I think there should be restrictions on where to park for this, but in general people found sleeping in cars should be protected by the law against theft and harassment.
That is a pretty interesting piece. I'll have to remember die cast direct whenever I have some space and money to expand my model car collection
How exactly does a newton's cradle help with focus? I never had one, and I think I'd end up focusing on the motion of it instead of anything else I'm supposed to be doing.
The only full job I can think of is assistant to a busy person. I don't think any whole jobs are done better by ai. Some of the jobs recommended in this thread would be better to be removed rather than replaced.
So, I think ai makes a better assistant to a person doing a job rather than a replacement to compete a job on its own. It can write rough drafts that a talented writer can expand and edit. It can quickly generate several plans that an experienced leader can pick from or discard. It can look through a designer's portfolio and spit out "new" combinations of their past designs that the designer can then build upon.
Any one of these jobs could give up and submit the AI's output as their own, but I think the quality of the results would suffer.
Scam detection would be more helpful
Unless you hold your fingers together with pressure for more than a day, it won't glue fingers together.
Getting it out of carpet is a big deal though
It's not like super glue. Several days' curing time. It washed off easily with regular hand soap
I got some on my fingers several times during the process, and it wipes off easily with a paper towel, and residue washes off with regular hand soap.
The curing time is very long, 36 hours if I remember it right. So I usually plan to leave it for a week because if I move the glued item too soon it falls apart again
E-6000 plus denim makes a patch on jeans
I just wanted to say, in case you didn't know, that E-6000 can glue a patch of denim to a pair of jeans well enough to survive the washing machine and heavy use.
I cut up one old pair of jeans to patch several other old pairs of jeans. One bead of glue around the edge of the patch, one bead around the edge of the hole I'm patching. Some wax paper made sure I only glued what I wanted to glue, and a stack of books on top of the patch for a few days let it cure in place.
They've survived several months of regular washing, as well as working outside with no issues.
Expanding this, perhaps no one should take their place because the entire premise of their business doesn't deserve to exist.
Dang, this post needs a Fediverse equivalent to raisedbynarcissists.
You were raised by mindless people who constantly misused their time and money in ways that directly affected your daily life. Their anti-logical ways left you constantly neglected in some ways, despite the fact that they had the means to cover all your basic needs. This neglect was obvious to anyone who saw you day to day, but they blamed you because your family controlled many decisions that are normally left up to the kids.
That being said, you're not asking about "everyone" as your title says, you're asking about your family. Also, their words are complaining, but what they are doing is actually bragging. There is a high cultural value on being busy, and they've found ways to be VERY busy by having a literally insane way of life, with exhausting routines that are built around excess and waste.
Still, this is not a question for a broader audience, but a rant about one stubbornly insane family.
And the answer is, because they are more proud of their exhausting, difficult lives than you are proud of your planned, easy life.

show me your best: generated gingerbread house
I like the idea of eating a gingerbread house, so I thought of a large bell jar to cover a cake topped with a gingerbread house as a way to display it and also eat it later.
What do you want to see in your gingerbread house?
so I'm at my favorite fictional club, and I ask the DJ to put on a specific Classical Composer's music
He says he can't. I'm so bummed.
This club can't even Handel me right now
I Love French TOAST
Screamo, heavy metal, energetic, guttural scream, bass beat, guitar solo song. Listen and make your own with Suno.
I just thought it would be great to hear a metal band screaming a repetitive song about how much they like French toast.
I put in a few lines into the Suno lyrics generator and hit generate. I deleted about half of what it spit out for me, (like the ever present lyrics that include "night and day" and "feels so right")
Then ran through some changes to the prompt as well as fine tuning the lyrics to get this short little ditty.
Another result from the same prompt: https://suno.com/song/13b61691-2d30-4332-81a1-c04a7986fa75
Meticulous Tortise
Fast rap, upbeat, strong male voice, battle rap, powerful beat, doubletime song. Listen and make your own with Suno.
After a lot of lyrics edits and rerunning the prompts to get a beat, melody, and voice I liked, I finally got a fast song about being slow.
I don't always serve lavendaer garrhsh drinks from the back of my unspecified vehicle...
In Copilot Designer, DAL-E 3 Prompt: lavender garnish cocktail themed show car with a large speaker system
Rolling through the "surprise me" generated prompts, landed on the lavender garnish cocktail. Added the rest and hit generate.
What is the kindest, most thoughtful thing you've seen a driver do on the road?
An obvious opposite of a recent question
Fast Family (Fast and Furious inspired)
pop edm, driving beat, bass boosted song. Listen and make your own with Suno.
I threw together some lyrics and had Suno put a voice and music to it.
Also, what prompts have gotten you the best deep thumpy bass results?
Thanks, I hate it
electronic, pop, synth, electro, powerful beat, clear enunciation song. Listen and make your own with Suno.
I started with "thanks, I hate it" and put it together with some of the other common responses to awful posts that people wish they hadn't seen. The automatic lyrics generator on Suno filled out the lyrics and made it all rhyme. Then I added some more common comments on awful posts. To get around cursing, I used Well That's Fantastic
City trains and street vendors (heavy metal remix)
Heavy metal, dubstep remix, powerful bass, sub bass melody song. Listen and make your own with Suno.
I thought it would be funny to have it generate a country song about city life, and then have it generated in a metal / dubstep style.
as a country song, it sounds like this

I Own It All (I'm a large language model)
catchy, pop, sweet female vocals, dubstep drops, fun song. Listen and make your own with Suno.
I was just thinking about how LLM's sweep up all these words from everywhere and use it for training data, some of it bought and paid for, most of it not.
So I put some lines into Suno and let it fill out the rest of the song. A few iterations later, this came out
Is it a good idea to get a high wattage phone charging brick and standard USB C cord to use for a laptop charger?
My laptop charges with USB C, so when the standard charger broke, I just used the USB out port from an EcoFlow battery. The display on the battery said the laptop pulled 25-30 watts while charging. So, why can't I use just any USB brick that can output more than 30 watts?
Is there something that is bound to go wrong that I don't know about?
Are laptop chargers really that special?
(Edited for clarity)
What makes a good whetstone set? What sets should I avoid?
I'm looking for a better knife sharpener for my hard steel chef knife. I think whetstones are the way to go, but most of the sets I see are 4 double sided stones. Do I need that many stones?
Is there a totally different type of sharpener that you have had success with?
Edit: I should add that I like my knife very sharp, and I have a few tiny chips in the cutting edge from a cheap drag-through sharpener.
What if an Amish guy made a diss track about AI?
electronic beat, aggressive rap song. Listen and make your own with Suno.
I edited some words, but the vast majority is just what the AI spit out
