KMFDM - Juke Joint Jezebel (2024)

Yes, even though the song came out in 1995, this music video was just released 3 weeks ago 😂

Dentists are pulling ‘healthy’ and treatable teeth to profit from implants, experts warn
  • I went in for a root canal on a painful tooth in the top of my mouth. When I got there I learned they planned to pull one from the other side where there was no pain. I told them I didn't think it was right, and then they pulled up my files and assured me it was right and we went ahead. But I still suspect it was unnecessary and I lost a perfectly good tooth

  • Where will the internet go post-reddit and post-twitter?
  • Right now Discord, Slack, and other chat platforms seem to be becoming dominant. But now everything is not only locked away from the open web, but also ephemeral.

Mastodon seems to be doing pretty well and continuing to grow. Lemmy seems to have been stagnant for many months now though. I guess we're waiting on Reddit to piss their users off about something again before we'll see another surge here.

A brand new cryptogram code?? [spoilers]
  • I couldn't find anything on the open web, but I delved in to the Discord for /r/GravityFalls today and they've been working on this one, but are still stumped.

The binary theory hasn't panned out yet. They also tried turning it into a barcode amongst many others

  • A brand new cryptogram code?? [spoilers]
  • Hmm, that's a good idea. Although I guess we'd need to make the assumption it always starts with and ends with a 1, as there would be no way to know how many trailing spaces (0) there are 🤔

  • A brand new cryptogram code??

So there were a number of cryptographic systems used in the show, but the Book of Bill and thisisnotawebsitedotcom.com has introduced some new ones. The main one I've seen discussed is the color bands believed to be the Euclydian language. And I think there's a way to find a codex for them on the site, but I can't remember the command right now. [edit: here's a decoder]

However, I haven't seen anyone anywhere talking about these series of boxes. They appear in multiple places, not just the example I've attached here. I think it's yet another crypto system!

At first I noticed some were squarish and wide, while others were skinny. So my first assumption was maybe it's Morse Code. But then I noticed some of the skinny ones were thinner than the others. And some of the boxes were wider than the others. So I now believe there are 4 characters, 2 skinny and 2 wide. But I'm stumped on what to do with them.

    Any ideas?

Remembering E3 and the time I got to go to one

In my new video [OC], I recount the rise and fall of E3, and what kind of legacy it has left behind. And then I go through the one time I got to go back in 2001

Anyone going to see ††† (crosses) this Sunday?

I'm new to the area and would love to meet people interested in this kind of synthrock music. Or at least to hear about some local/regional bands with something similar going on.

(I'm not seeing any Portland music communities yet, so hopefully this is okay here)
