Trump Sends Traditional Unhinged Late-Night Thanksgiving Message
  • Honestly this is what I ask myself about conservatives a lot: how can they be so mad at so many things all the time?

  • 'AI Jesus' avatar tests man's faith in machines and the divine
  • AI as it currently stands is basically pseudo-random noise being run through a very large and complex network and you get something out the other side that is very close to human generated text but instead of a mind behind it, it's those random numbers.

So ... AI is essentially like a human psychic.

Whenever you read about AI doing something like this, replace it with "psychic" and think about how it makes the feel of the story change.

  • They can hope while we welcome their best and brightest who don't want the government all over their bodies and lives.

I agree we need to build more housing, but as an Angeleno, fuck this fear of biting off more than we can chew, let's fuckin' go.

  • The rebellion will be federated
  • Not only that, I am reading angry commenter's comments from an mbin instance. 🤷‍♂️

  • Using Windows for business is torture
  • But modern Linux is easier to use than modern windows, so that last point doesn't really work.

Modern Linux runs just about any windows app, including most games. It also supports web browsers which can access Teams, etc.

It seems like maybe the reason is more inertial than based on factors a well run business should consider.

  • Plex is overhauling its apps with a redesign and under-the-hood upgrades
  • My friend in fediversing - you are the one who made a comment with a claim people have asked you to expand on or back up and you have utterly failed at that repeatedly.

You could have just never commented in the first place and you wouldn't be whining right now.

  • I really want to like Lemmy
  • I think the people who grew up a bit later may feel this more keenly than some of us olds who used to have to use the yellow pages.

  • California voters reject Prop 32, raising the state's minimum wage to $18
  • But thst doesn't happen when they have raised the minimum wage in other places. Why do they think that?

  • Why do people say "quote unquote something" and not "quote something unquote" ?
  • If you are quoting a word or short phrase you use this form to make it quicker and easier for the listener to understand.

If you quote a long section, saying "quote, <long quote>, unquote." is common and accepted.

  • Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024's launch has been marred by long load times, server issues and now it has overwhelmingly negative reviews
  • ✋ Hi, person here who bought 2020 but refuses to buy 2024 because they didn't deliver on half their promises for 2020, including that it would be the last sim they sold.

Maybe they were suprised this many people actually signed up for their next level bullshit. 🤷‍♂️

  • Hey, I switched to linux, too.

My personal way is to needle my buddies every time they complain about windows. 🤷‍♂️😅

  • As an MS2020 user, what you are describing is normal for the sim.

    Fedia Discussions @fedia.io andyburke @fedia.io

when I search for 'fed' everything is fine, but once I search for 'fedi' or 'fediverse' or 'fediversenews' I get a 500

I saw other reports in the recent call for problems of errors around searching, but this seems, to me at least, to be reproducible.

edit: to be clear, this is using fedia.io - I am not sure if this bug affects mbin/kbin more generally, I've only tested on fedia.io.
