For some reason I read the first part of the article in 60s news commentator voice in my head.

For those potential members who’ve somehow figured out what they need from a server, it's hard to understand which servers actually offer those things, either from outside the fediverse itself or from inside it but without a strong network.
Really important point.
A piefed screenshot in the wild. Have an upvote from me. Also, thanks for the info.
Not terribly fond of their icon as well. Personally, I would be willing to look past the name if they had a better icon.
Well hashtags clearly don't work quite as well for discovery, which is why there is demand for starter packs. But what happens if other backends don't implement it? Then people on the other instances, that is not mastodon, doesn't have a way to opt out.
I personally prefer hashtags over this. And given how liberally some admins block and defederate other instances I will stick with hashtags in the near future.
Surprisingly, I mispronounce it exactly like that.
Now I wish PieFed had KaTex support.
Yeah, don't just just join the largest instance. Look at the smaller ones. And that is true for any fedi backend. Be it misskey or mastodon, sometimes smaller is better. Sometimes smaller instance has better local community and better administration.
I tried to install F41 from a Bootable drive today but failed. The error message was totally different but it was an efi issue.
I had maybe a similar issue today, from fedora 41 workstation (gnome).
what Mozilla is really afraid of is losing the over inflated bonus the execs get paid.
I hope you get more engagement in the community. But you should probably engage more with others posts as well.
Which particular niche topic(s) is it?
I have a Dell. Linux support is pretty amazing. But I wouldn't recommend using blender unless it's a Dell XPS.
oh my, I didn't see that coming. That was such a shock.
That geographical division made as much sense as referring to my foot as little hand.
what is bird jones?
Remembering the good old days when that used to be IE's job.
you can't even consider it a true federated network like activitypub
I love the new UI changes
I saw today that they changed a lot about UI in the timeline. The vote buttons are at bottom instead of on the right side. Images are not tiny thumbnails anymore. Even, the thumbnails feel better somehow. I love all these changes.
The only small nitpick I have is that, the vote buttons are a little small, it feels more so in the main post. And a very unreasonable complaint, that I don't think need to be addressed, would be, the vote buttons are too generic. Would love a little more style and better colour contrast.
How to use power button to wake up laptop on tablet mode
Recently I switched to Fedora 40 from Ununtu. Now, I am facing this weird problem, whenever my laptop suspends I cannot use the power button to wake my laptop if it's in tablet mode. It works fine in normal case. Also, this wasn't an issue in Ubuntu. Anyone knows how I can change it?
I am using a 2in1 laptop (Dell) if it's relevant
