Once you enter the darkness that is New Jersey, it pervades your soul and you can never leave.
It did happen, it was just irrelevant. No serious competition was allowed (Sorry, Dean Phillips).
We elected whoever has last talked to the President, since he has the mental capacity of a goldfish and will just repeat the last thing anyone says to him.
This land is my land
This land ain't your land
If you don't get off
I'll blow your head off
I've got a shotgun
And you ain't got one
This land was made for me not you
He has a point, though. No scan is going to reveal the real root cause, which is irritation caused by being too freaking old.
He should just retire already, and let Trump appoint him Surgeon General or something
Media companies have realized what foreign governments have known for years. If you want all the inside knowledge of what goes on in the Trump White House, send a spy to Mar-a-lago. You don't need clandestine agents when Trump and his crew discuss all this stuff openly, and all you have to do is pay to get in.
The genius part is now that Republicans are in charge of the government here, deficits no longer matter, and they will push through huge tax cuts on the rich. These massive tax cuts will only trickle down to working folks in the form of direct rebate checks, just to give Trump an excuse to have his signature all over them. Trump will convince these people that the additional money is to help offset rising prices, and his voters will believe it.
Deficits will no longer matter until after the midterms, and then if Democrats can gain back control of either house of Congress, the deficit will become a big problem again, that can only be solved by slashing more programs. The checks will stop, and Trump will blame Democrats.
I'm surprised Hannity hasn't scored a gig yet
I view this as mildly positive. It means that more picks are in trouble, and the Senate is not just gonna roll over and recess them into their jobs without hearings. Senators who got elected this time, in particular, have 6-year terms that will outlast Trump's term. Who knows what state MAGA and Musk will be in by then?
(There will be plenty of horrible picks that get through, of course, but the worst of the worst might get blocked by Republicans, just like Gaetz.)
This also really does show the power dynamic here. Musk is Trump's sugar daddy. Trump's entire career was built on spending Daddy's money, why should his political career be any different? Musk owns Trump now, and I think this proves that.
Donald Trump didn't win the Presidency by reading textbooks.
Trump is probably furious that Pete didn't let him in on some of that.
The hair color is Butthead, but the fivehead and eyebrows are definitely Beavis.
He looks like the great Cornholio, I bet he needs TP for his bunghole
I wouldn't be surprised if he is the MAGA candidate for President in 2028
Every night with Elon is a man date...
I mean, what has Kraft really done? He hired a good coach/GM and QB, and had his ring stolen.
People wonder why Jerruh is in with 3 SBs but Kraft is not in with 6. But not only is Jerruh also the GM, but he was apparently instrumental in a lot of the TV deals that directly led to the increased exposure of the NFL. Jerruh, like him or hate him, has been a force in the NFL since he bought the Cowboys. You simply can't tell the story of the NFL over the past 30-35 years without mentioning his name at least once. Which should be the benchmark for an owner to get into the Hall of Fame. Not picking the right people to write checks to.
The sad part is that the brunt of this will likely be borne by nationals from countries that the US President has officially deemed "shithole countries". Or, in other words, not white. You only have to look at his "Muslim ban" from last time, and know that he will expand it, to see how bad things are gonna get.
You may think you have some protection if you are a permanent resident. And you may have some protection if you are in a state that will not assist the Federal government in rounding people up. But you will continue to deal with the hassle every time you enter or leave the country. Which state you live in doesn't matter at the border (and the airports are technically borders).
In my uninformed opinion, if you decide to stay, you shouldn't make any plans to leave the country, because you will never really know if your authorization to stay in the country will be arbitrarily denied while you are away. It is probably better to just plan that the next time you leave the country, it will be for the foreseeable future. We will, unfortunately, not be very hospitable to you for the next 4 years (and maybe longer). Unless you are white. Which is all sorts of wrong. But the way it is these days.
NYC Mayor Eric Adams is under fire from fellow New Yorkers for wearing a baseball cap supporting BOTH the Yankees and Mets.
On Monday, the mayor marched down Fifth Avenue during the annual Columbus Day Parade wearing a baseball cap supporting BOTH the Yankees and Mets! The hat featured a Mets logo on one side, an "X" in between and a Yankees logo on the other side. ... "No wonder Eric Adams got indicted, that hat is a crime against humanity," one user wrote in a post on X, formally Twitter.

Supreme Court says marketer is not entitled to a trademark for 'Trump too small' T-shirts
The phrase “TRUMP TOO SMALL” stems from a memorable moment in the 2016 Republican presidential debates, during which Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., made a crude joke about the size of Trump’s hands.
“And you know what they say about guys with small hands,” Rubio quipped.
President Joe Biden says he won’t participate in the campaign debates sponsored by a nonpartisan commission, instead challenging Republican Donald Trump to a pair of debates.
Biden’s campaign proposed that the first debate between the presumptive Democratic and Republican nominees be held in late June and the second in September before early voting begins. Trump responded to the letter in an interview with Fox News digital, calling the proposed dates “fully acceptable to me” and joked about providing his own transportation.

Clueless Tourist and Parking
Hi all! I'll be visiting with my family soon. I go to San Jose/Santa Clara often for work, but this will be my first time in the area as a tourist in 20 years. Were have 3 days planned for San Francisco on the trip, from a hotel near SFO. We have a rental car, and are 5 people, so it may make sense to drive. The hotel isn't walkable to BART or Caltrain, so if we were going to take those into the city we'd have to park at the station anyway. (South San Francisco would probably be the closest station).
I'm planning to park the car for the day and take the MUNI most places, since it's free for teens. Any suggestions on safe garages? I don't mind paying to make sure the car is secure. If there's a good garage around Union Station, that may be the best bet because we can get anywhere. But it might be nice to park closer to the Presidio for the day we do things there.
Any suggestions? My coworkers who live in the Bay Area think I'm crazy to take a car into SF at all, but surely there are some safe places to park?
We're a bunch of nerds, and will hit up the Exploratorium. (We have a fourth day planned at the Chabot Center and Berkeley, and other days further afield). Any other suggestions for nerdy things to see would be appreciated. (We already have the Wave Organ on the list....)
Thanks!
