Lean vs. fast
  • TFW you want to do things good, slow and expensive, but management makes you do them fast, cheap and crap.

    For your entire career.

    Please kill me

i got the sense that some people wanted to when i made this same point about this industry in this same community about a week or so ago.

i love the duality of lemmy sometimes. lol

  • Mexican president tears into Donald Trump after tariff threat
  • She threatened “a response in kind… one tariff will follow another until we put at risk our shared enterprises”, adding: “Yes, shared. For instance, among Mexico’s main exporters to the United States are [car manufacturers] General Motors, Stellantis and Ford Motor Company, which arrived in Mexico 80 years ago.

oh god! she thinks that trump gives a rat's ass about anyone else but himself; he will happily surrender the entirety of this country, including ford or gm, if it would mean that he "wins". (just let the orange dumb ass "win" whatever he wants and let him think that he's in control).

she's comes from a COMPLETELY different world that trumps and is going to get her ass handed to her like kamala did if she doesn't learn quickly enough.

  • France says it can’t arrest Netanyahu because of ICC immunity
  • they always have been. what’s changed is our awareness. and the ruling class doesn’t like that awareness. so they’ve tuned the algoithms to break it, bought twitter, pumped the internet with rage from russian troll farms, astroturfed everything with ai slop, and broke web search and our ability to find anything.

don't forget banning tiktok for not complying with the mainstream narrative.

  • This Is a Bad Use of a Democratic Lame-Duck Period
  • It’s all very reminiscent of earlier this year, when Biden, at the exact same time he was painting Trump as a dictator-to-be and making this the central message of his presidential campaign, lobbied feverishly to expand the government’s warrantless spying powers that it’s now passing on to Trump. It was one of the most glaring instances laying bare how cynically and irresponsibly Democratic politicians used rhetoric around authoritarianism and threats to democracy, and how little they themselves actually believed what they were saying.

if only democrats could see how fucked up democrats are; they would stop voting for the "lesser evil".

  • I really want to like Lemmy
  • It's only seems like doomsday if you don't learn from the people who had encountered it before and wrote down their experiences.

Empowerment is a side affect of knowledge; yet most Americans will never bother to avail themselves to the knowledge from people like marx or MLK Jr and that only leads us to those needful mental health breaks over and over again without ever fixing the root cause.

  • How decentralized is Bluesky/ATProto?
  • Bluesky is apparently deleting the accounts of Palestinians in Gaza under the guise of “spam.” Requests to correct this have so far gone unanswered. https://t.co/vbBfz8TFL2 pic.twitter.com/X4o7OifWlh

  • Moon 44 (1990 1080p)
  • KICK ASS!!!

i never got to finish watching this movie because my vcr ate the video cassette and the rental stores wouldn't bother with low budget movies like this back then.

i REALLY miss the late 80's / early 90's scifi b movie fad and i had such a crush on michael pare. lol

  • Standoff as Canada Yukon town council refuses to swear oath to King Charles
  • Paying 2760 per month for a run down shithole 3 bedroom in a shitty neighbourhood fucking sucks and unless you have a degree, you have to work some kind of labour job to make decent money. Most of those are either camp jobs or require a vehicle cause they’re out of range of the public transit.

over by the yavapai it's around $1000 per month, but the jobs are still few, far away and pay shit; even the ones that require a degree.

i haven been there since 2014, so maybe it's worse now.

  • How decentralized is Bluesky/ATProto?
  • they're using decentralized like it's a marketing term hoping to draw in people who are sick of the enshitification we get from the likes of reddit and facebook.

bluesky has already enshitified imo ever since they started censoring gazan users for reporting on the genocide by pretending it's all spam.

  • Obtaining Certification ID's

I was certified on a couple of ubiquity products a few years ago and i've collected so many certifications over the last 20ish years that i can't remember which ones they were.

does ubiquity have a way of letting you look it up?

www.democracynow.org House of Representatives Votes 269-144 to Ban State Department from Citing Gaza Death Toll

In more news from Capitol Hill, lawmakers have barred the U.S. State Department from citing death toll figures provided by the Gaza Ministry of Health. Ahead of Thursday’s vote, Congress’s lone Palestinian American lawmaker, Democrat Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, read into the Congressional Record the ...

House of Representatives Votes 269-144 to Ban State Department from Citing Gaza Death Toll

Rep. Rashida Tlaib: “But Palestinians are not just numbers. Behind these numbers are real people — mothers, fathers, sons, daughters — who have had their lives stolen from them and their families torn apart. And we should not be trying to hide it. These are innocent children and babies who have been bombed in their tents, burned alive, dismembered and deliberately starved to death. Where is our shared humanity in this chamber? There is so much anti-Palestinian racism in this chamber that my colleagues don’t even want to acknowledge that Palestinians exist at all, not when they’re alive and now not even when they’re dead. It’s absolutely disgusting. This is genocide denial.”
