Plant-Based Meat And Milk Offer Similar Or Better Nutrition Than Animal Products, Study Finds
  • This is great to hear. I see a lot of bad faith arguments from carnist about the nutritional aspect of plant based meats. If you want vitamins, eat veg. I find it hard to take a person seriously when they act as though the barrier to veganism is the efficiency with which they can ingest protein.

  • Christ, imagine propagating The Protocols of the Elders of Zion in 2024. Its got to be one of the most debunked documents in history:

The spurious character of the Protocols was first revealed in 1921 by Philip Graves of The Times (London), who demonstrated their obvious resemblance to a satire on Napoleon III by the French lawyer Maurice Joly, published in 1864 and entitled Dialogue aux enfers entre Machiavel et Montesquieu (“Dialogue in Hell Between Machiavelli and Montesquieu”). Subsequent investigation, particularly by the Russian historian Vladimir Burtsev, revealed that the Protocols were forgeries compounded by officials of the Russian secret police out of the satire of Joly, a fantastic novel (Biarritz) by Hermann Goedsche (1868), and other sources.

    From Britannica

They were literally debunked over 100 years ago.

    Pfft.. Normies!
  • For those who didn't know like me:

Short for problem exists between keyboard and chair, PEBKAC is a term used by computer technicians and IT (information technology) professionals to describe a user error. The term asserts that the user is to blame when referring to the technical issue at hand; not the installed software or the device itself.

Honestly, a pretty funny phrase despite its dickishness.

  • I bet I'm the only human in miles and miles!
  • In Usagi Yojimbo, do they recognise that they are different species? Cuz they'll talk about rabbits as though they are animals (as opposed to the anthropomorphic animal characters). Also there's humans.

  • Thanks for the context. Soooo.... What's with he dick jokes? I mean I'm fan of dix as much as the next dick lover but setting up an emails service that's ball-to-ball dicks is a bit much.

  • Not that it would justify it at all, but was he Australian? I like to imagine this bewildered a-hole getting increasingly pissed at what he perceives as a transgression of social boundaries by every Australian he meets on his holiday.

I've noticed a general sentiment that printing on Linux is (or at least was) extremely cumbersome and difficult. Why is that?

Automated penetration testing disrupts cybersecurity by offering faster, cheaper, and broader testing coverage.

    Why Pay A Pentester?

What do you guys think? I don't think there's a lot of depth to the arguments, myself. It reads more like an threadbare op-ed with a provocative title. But I'd like to hear you opinions on the impact of automated testing solutions on the role of pen-testers in the industry.

    Introduction to List Comprehensions

Brendan Metcalfe's intro series to list comprehensions is one of the best I've come across. In addition to showing how to use them, he compares it to other similar methods and shows why LCs can be more effective. Wanted to share his stuff here.
