Btrfs should've been Wayland
  • I just think people who have issues with Wayland and btrfs are hitting bugs that developers can't trigger. It's an unfortunate situation but these people should work closer with developers to get them more info.

The situation sucks because Wayland and btrfs offer so many features but there's those few people who can't seem to get them to work reliably.

  • Well THAT fucking sucks! 🤬
  • I think greyjay is the best YouTube app. I gave up on Newpipe the moment Firefox for Android reenabled extension support. I didn't like the fact that Newpipe needed a fork just for Sponsor block support.

  • Why does it seem most people, mainly conservatives, against Trans people? Unless I am wrong I never heard of one shooting up a school church or whatever. The ones I have met have been pretty cool.
  • From what I have seen, it seems trans and gay people are used as a "bar." Since these people aren't inclined to be gay or trans they believe themselves to be above the bar they have set. Racism works the same way.

They tried to put their religion into politics and it backfired; now their religion is just random politics with a few supernatural beliefs that do not effect their day to day actions.

  • Iraq set to lower the age of consent to just nine years old
  • I think we are seeing the same thing with Ukraine war. In 10, 15 years people will see the war for what it is- a progressive destabilization of Eastern Europe and intentional proxy war.

I was wondering what you meant by this but now I think I get it. We created a puppet state in Iraq to get a "buffer" against Iran. The same way Putin wants Ukraine to be its buffer against the rest of Europe. Did I get that right?

I agree with the rest of what you said.

  • Iraq set to lower the age of consent to just nine years old
  • probably running as early as 1200BCE

I could agree there was something "related" by 1200BCE at the EARLIEST. After all, Judahites, Edomites, and Qederites do not even show up till 900 BC; a few hundred years after the Amorite civilization begins its downward spiral (where some of their last traces are seen in the mixed ethnic group of Palmyra which has elements of Amorites, Arameans, and Arabs mixed together -- even though they are virtually identical cultures).

  • Iraq set to lower the age of consent to just nine years old
  • I understand that Saddam Hussein was a terrible man. But it sucks that support from his opposition is what helped push this. They're not bad because they are Shia; they are simply the worst of the people that opposed Hussein. This is what happens when you prop up puppet governments. The rights of the people aren't important to the puppeteer.

Tl:dr: Even with Saddam Hussein's death, Iraq never got its freedom.

  • Iraq set to lower the age of consent to just nine years old
  • Do you have a source for that? I would think the oldest passages of the old testament go back to the 900s at best. That's why the oldest historical figure the bible has is Pharaoh Shoshank. I'd be surprised to see if anything from before the Bronze Age Collapse made it in (besides being vaguely Semetic).

  • You Pay For It, We Own It - Sony's $7.9B Lawsuit
  • You speak of copyright infringement. Some people call it IP theft but in reality it has nothing to do with stealing in the traditional sense of the word (such as stealing a bicycle). You can't actually steal something that's still there after you "take it."

  • Muslims who voted for Trump upset by his pro-Israel cabinet picks
  • You are arguing with absolute liars. It's like people only thinking this mess accelerated under Biden (who is the most paid politician by AIPAC) is just a coincidence. As if Israel hasn't been expanding into some of the most important Palestinian cities while the world focuses on Gaza.

It's the same people who say what can Biden possibly do while funding their military operations. Trump sees the praise Biden is getting from Congress and actually thinks Biden must have been doing something right. Yet, somehow there was a good choice for people who want to see Palestine prosper (Those who pretend that Harris would do better because she doesn't shout her plans out like some cliché comic book villain).

But let's call Trump a huge liar and let's take his word at face value when it's convenient for us. I'm sure the Democrats who never learn a thing will be excited to lose the next election as well. Obviously, Trump won't be a good president but Democrats lost because they were seen as slightly less evil but with no charisma.

It's not us, everyone else is just stupid. - Democrats

  • AMD will go back to the same strategy they had with the RX 580. They don't plan to release high end cards next generation. It seems they just want to pump out a higher volume of mid-tier (which is vague and subjective) while fixing hardware bugs plaguing the previous generation.

Hopefully, this means we can game on a budget while AMD is focusing primarily on marketshare.

Israeli forces spark devastating fire at Ramallah vegetable market

Israeli forces ignited a devastating fire at Ramallah and al-Bireh's main vegetable market in the occupied West Bank on Thursday that has destroyed dozens of shops owned by Palestinians and caused millions of shekels in losses.

Troops raided the neighbouring West Bank cities at dawn, firing live ammunition, stun grenades and tear gas in residential areas and the local market, known locally as al-Hisbah.

Wooden carts caught on fire and the flames spread throughout the market and to nearby commercial buildings, wounding at least one person and ravaging over 100 stalls and shops, according to al-Bireh's acting mayor, Robin al-Khatib.

    Israel Attacking West Bank Farms

The U.N. humanitarian affairs office has recorded 650 attacks by Israeli settlers against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank since Oct. 7, harming residents and property. It says settlers have killed at least nine Palestinians in the territory and Israeli security forces have killed more than 400 Palestinians in that time.

    Non toxic hedges

I'm trying to replace two dead bushes. There was one single bush (My guess is either a boxwood or juniper bush) on each side of the porch stair case. I was hoping to find something non toxic for kids, dogs, and especially cats. Most likely the cat will frequent these bushes. Everything seems to be at least somewhat poisonous from what I read on the internet.

I would appreciate suggestions. I would prefer something that grows around 4ft tall and thrives in the USDA zone 6.
