Damn so Ubisofrs take-home is like $40 million for that month after platform fees. This game cost $250 - 300 million to make.
This thing looks almost as big as The Duke.
All time peak of 2,486 players is pretty low. I wonder what the peak was when factoring in release? I understand this didn't launch on steam day 1.
That is true lol.
The heating effect is more due to standing waves rotating the (polar) water molecules in the food.
There aren't hot radiation particles moving into and staying in the food like a number of people believe.
Microwaves (and 5G) have much less energy than visible light, but its a scary sound word. People don't like to think that they are exposed to radiation 100% of the time.
That's a fair call and I'm the same, its not optimal for a lot reheating. I've met a fair few people who refuse to own or use a microwave because the don't want their food "irradiated" or think that it is somehow unhealthy.
Microwaving food. Too many people think that it's radiating the food. Its just making the water molecules in the food wiggle and heat up to warm the food through internal collisions.
They have 2 or 3 songs that I consider to be fantastic, but a lot of generic stuff. Photograph is their worst song and was so overplayed when it came out.
True. I suppose depending on how they designed it, they could keep them though. The PS portal for example has a screen and haptics/adaptive triggers.
That's a thin client obviously I understand.
Oh yeah that was at the forefront of my mind when writing that. A handheld would have the option of a much larger battery than in the dualsense, but there's the question of how powerful this thing is expected to be and how much juice is required for that.
I hope the haptics don't go away, it's the best new feature of the ps5 IMO.
Hopefully we don't have a PSVR2 situation.
Sony does have the best controller haptic system and that in a handheld could be great. I think that if the push into handhelds by Sony/Xbox to try and compete with Nintendo and the steam deck causes some smaller scale and fun games to be released, that would be a positive for the industry.
Yep, excess money printing (there is now 5 times more money in circulation in the USA than the start 2020) and flowing to the hands of the few wealthiest individuals means the middle class share of the overall financial pie becomes smaller.
Wages haven't increased to match the increased money flowing around society.
That results in regular people having less purchasing power and things feeling more expensive.
Interesting read!
Its magic. Can't believe we have the technology to do so.it does mean we're fast approaching the hard limit where new innovations will have to be made beyond making the electronics smaller and more dense.
Because I missed the /s
100%, its a great revision of the original.
Phew, glad to see she's also a piece of shit. Definitely more appropriate than Gaetz but come on.
ITT: only one person who understands why Merkel would say that she thought Trump was "completely normal".
This will at least be an epic part of a future video.
Half Life 2 VR mod after finishing Alyx. Alyx itself was a fantastic VR experience, but the hype is such that I probably don't need to explain it.
I've kind of accepted a while ago that we're not doing that as a species. There's far too much money interested in keeping the status quo. The second Trump presidency is just the nail in the coffin for me.
Realistically, a mass population cull would probably be humanity's best chance of having a comfortably habitable planet. No way are we shifting our society with the current trajectory of things.
Gonna just try and enjoy my life responsibly while the world burns unless there's a radical wave of collective action that promises to truly uproot things.
Chiaki4deck appreciation post
Just wanted to shout out this piece of software.
I've been time poor lately and the ps5 has been gathering dust in my office. Streaming onto the deck has been a godsend, as I'm not tied into locking myself away from the family to play a game. Bit of a hassle to set up but so handy once it's been added as a non-steam game.
Why install other Linux ISOs on Steam Deck?
Seen a few times bazzite has been mentioned, but just have seen another user say they have OpenSUSE installed.
I'm not sure what the benefits of these options are, especially non-steamOS ISOs?
Why is Lemmy obsessed with the word "enshittification"?
I see it referenced constantly here, not quite as much on Reddit. I know what it means, but just wondering why such the popularity over on this side of the fence?
Very excited
I really didn't think this was going to happen. Lemmy is missing an app at the level of boost for reddit.
If the UX is close to what BFR was, then this will really help with platform migration.
