This looks solid but keep in mind it's a kickstarter.
Google has Gemini, Microsoft has ChatGPT/OpenAI, and Amazon now has (more of)Claude/Anthropic.
I only saw it now, maybe it happened before on a different version.
But it's gonna be very difficult when you've got Google and OpenAI up there.
Firefox introduces AI as experimental feature
They support Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, HuggingChat, and Mistral.

Looking for opinions on my first custom drone build
Greetings! I am going to build my first drone with custom-selected parts. I have a good bit of experience with building drones but have mainly built RTF kits instead of selecting all my parts. I plan on this being an Ardupilot build. I hoping to get other's opinions on any parts I should upgrade to a higher quality, parts I should keep the same, or any incompatibilities that I missed. I'd also like to note that I went for the cheaper end of products with the intention of upgrading later, but I don't have a set budget.

The subway. The OMNY logo is on the bottom
It says OMNY. It's a payment system for the subway
on my main desktop it's total anarchy
I try but don't always succeed. In my main laptop, I have all misc files in the downloads folder, photos in photos, documents(pdfs, writer, math) and videos/movies in videos.

My roku tv is never connecting to the internet again
There's a whole lot of different smart TVs. If you want help, it would be useful to provide the brand of smart TVs as well as the operating system that it's running.
lets start the divestos wave, its somehow rarely heard of but has the support of lineageos with the hardening of (almost) grapheneos, and the principles of GNU.
Maybe I'm a dumbass and it's my fault, but I find that archinstall always has an issue when you run it. It's easier to install arch manually than run the and troubleshoot.
Lemdroid used to be my main instance sad that its got bots on it now :(
By the way the CIA uses telegram to let people "securely" contact them. That's making me believe it is definitely compromised.
Is this one relatable?
For those who might not get it, every laptop that I’ve had has had two usb 3 ports on the right side, with other I/O like HDMI or headphone jack, and then one USB 2 port on the left side with less io, just the power jack.
Is pixelfed.social dead?
I registered for Pixelfed.Social 3 days ago and still haven't received an email that confirmed my account, and I can't sign in on the website. Is it dead, or are the moderators a bit slower than it said on the website? If I was rejected would I receive an email?
Paying for Vim
Hey guys, I just wanted to say that Vim is charityware. This means that if you like the software and want to pay for it, you can donate to charity instead of to the developers of Vim. Vim recommends donating to ICCF Holland to pay for the software. ICCF Holland is a charity that focuses on supporting Ugandan children whose parents have passed from HIV. They provide healthcare and education to children who need it. Donation is critical to keep this organization active. There are a few different ways to help this organization, from directly donating money to sponsoring a child, by paying monthly for them to go to school and receive medical care. Work is all volunteer, so your money goes strictly to children. Your donation can make a difference in a kid's life. You can donate at Vim's website or ICCF Holland
PSA: Google Meet no longer works in hardened Firefox
EDIT
This issue may be due to WebRTC being disabled. WebRTC is required for google meet, but also used for fingerprinting.
Recently I tried to join a google meet meeting in my hardened config firefox browser, and google meet didn't let me in at all. I was confused as hell. I could join only on my phone, but not any of my three computers I tested it on. I then went into a virtual machine with regular firefox(also linux), and the meeting works. The only conclusion I can draw is that google is so desperate for my data that they refuse to service me unless I give them this.
This post intends to inform people that issues with google products may be related to their valid wish for security, and the actions they have taken in pursuit of that. The post also intends to inform people of a solution. The two apps that I recommend are:
- Jitsi Meet: This is self hosted, but you can also make a meeting with jitsi's own servers. A excellent alternative to google meet, the only reason I didn't use it is that I had issues the day I needed to meet, and had to fall back to google meet instead.
- Jami: This is a distributed-network chat and video calling app which is open source and a GNU package. It does require an app, but is free and open source and will serve your purpose.****_________
MX Linux forum was under a DDOS attack.
They have adopted Cloudflare and used IP blocking. This does not impact their repos, just the forum.
Is Ukraine relying on DJI drones for recon a security risk?
I know that Ukraine relies a lot on DJI drones, particularly for reconnaissance, and I am curious if this is a security risk. DJI is headquartered in China, and China and Russia have good relations, so is it possible that Russia makes a request to China that they brick Ukraine's drones, or backdoor them?
Exiv4
So I have this weird deja vu situation where I distinctly remember an EXIF viewer tool called exiv4(with a 4) but the only "exiv" tool I can find is exiv2. I can't get over this feeling that I used an EXIF viewer called exiv4, however. I can only find an old Stack Exchange post mentioning it. Does anyone know about an exiv4 tool, or am I just crazy?
Touch support on Linux
I just got a x86 tablet, and it works great with GNOME(Wayland), having pretty good touch support, except for on Firefox. I can't get multi-touch gestures to work, nor touch scrolling. I've tried environment variables(MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1
,MOZ_USE_XINPUT2=1
), but that didn't change anything. I've also had a look in about:config
and couldn't tell what options would change my experience. It should be noted that I have WebGL disabled, but I don't forsee that changing anything. I also see under about:support
that the Window Protocol is xwayland
, and I'm wondering if that changed anything aswell(the protocol doesn't change even with environment variables).
Does anyone have an idea about what's gone wrong with my browser? Thank you very much!
Strange issue with soft-bricked tablet
Sorry if this is a yapathon, this is a detailed issue, and I will put an AI summary in the comments
I have already made a post about that but that was outdated and I learned some new information. If anyone thinks it's cluttering their feeds, I will delete the post, just ask.
I have been absolutely stumped by this issue that I'm facing, even as a 5-year Linux user. I have just got my hands on a Getac F110-G2 tablet. It came with Windows 10 pre-installed, and everything functioned perfectly fine. Of course, I don't like Windows and I shortly went to installing Debian, and got a GNOME live image straight from their website. I downloaded, flashed to a USB drive, and installed. The installer booted and functioned perfectly fine, with the only weird thing being a random signoff which didn't seem to break anything. One thing to note is that I installed and started gpsd
, but that shouldn't mean anything because that was a live image. I clicked reboot, and the tablet seemed to reboot normally, until the boot process started.
When nothing happened but a black screen for a minute, I rebooted my tablet, but that didn't do anything either. Than, I rebooted to the installation media to try another install. It was black too. This caused me to try re-flashing the USB drive with the same Debian, but no luck. I tried to disable TPM which I know can cause some issues, and still no luck. I also switched between UEFI and Legacy boot modes, and observed that the installed version of debian had only installed on legacy. I contacted Getac support because no secure boot toggle was in the BIOS, and they directed me to it. I disabled secure boot and still no luck. I've tried again a few times, and that's where I'm at. Also note that I've tried with my TV as a display and that didn't work either, so it's definitely not a display issue. I tried a different USB stick with no luck, and it seems like my tablet is just soft-bricked from now on.
So where to now?
- I've thought about installing the SSD to my PC's motherboard, wiping it clean, and then re-installing to try and boot.
(OLD) Tablet Boots to Black Screen After Attempted Debian Install
This is an old post, I plan on making a new one with updated details.
I was installing Debian on my Getac F100-G2, and I booted to the live usb perfectly fine. I tested everything and it seemed to work great, except for one time I got logged out randomly. I installed it(overwriting windows) and it completed with no error. When I rebooted, it booted to a black screen and did not provide any error message. I've tried booting to the same installation media as well, and it does the exact same. I've switched between legacy boot and uefi, which has been an issue in the past with debian. I have also tried booting from a pureos live usb and that hasn't worked either. Getac devices are for enterprise use more than person, and rather poorly documented, so any help is appreciated!********___
Can someone identify him?
I keep seeing this dog thing popping up across Instagram, and want to know if anybody knows who he is. I've Google image searched and nothing but more shitposts. Does anyone have ideas? Thank you!
