There's zero need to have civil leadership have military experience. That's kind of the point, to create a buffer. Not that I think there aren't plenty of disqualifying points for this chode, as he was appointed by Trump so that comes with the territory.
Bush had several with no military experience and Clinton had this one https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Danzig. Another had 2 years as a Lt.
You just need a mod team willing to enforce those rules.
The unveiling was done by a man pulling off the cover, suspended by an overhead crane with hooks through his skin.
Just put him on display I guess.
If you need a rear light or not actually varies state to state. The reflectors are fed policy and that's why all bikes sold in the US have them. The siren thing seems to be because kids were rigging sirens to their wheels attached to a chain and being a general nuisance at some point in the 50s. That said, that's about all a car would hear that's not electronic. That or an canned air horn.

A video of the wheel siren in action.
You say wrap but I'm imagining an econoline van with a peaked roof made to look like a giant KKK hood doing jumps like the dumb and dumber dog van.
This is going to really throw a fucking bomb on the WTO. Like complete collapse of international trade adjudication and just viscous multilateral trade wars. US will have neither imports or exports. The farmers are going to be pissed when their market collapses due to retaliatory tariffs.
Phosphoric acid: the true threat to those coding the Linux kernel in Rust.
Meaning that he was already enlisted, and gave up a lot of rights that a civilian would otherwise have.
South Korea used to jail and abuse people who objected to compulsory military service and nowadays just treats them like shit. This guy tried to eat his way into doing community service instead of being an active duty soldier and he got jailed for it. I would say that tracks as abuse against objectors. I wouldn't say he was avoiding a "promotion."
It's fair that the judge says you can't take control over an asset before he's even ruled on whether you can take control over it. The opposite would be kinda silly.
State dependent. Maryland for example legally requires a front headlamp and a rear reflector in low visibility conditions. Also must have a bell or horn but can't have a siren (?).
Leopold was rightfully viewed as a monster by his racist contemporaries. I don't think anybody sane is lionizing that guy.
Edit: They do and did lionize Henry Morton Stanley who helped set up Leopold's death machine. And his contemporaries made him persona non grata over it as well, even though history somewhat gave him a pass and made movies about him.
Holy shit I haven't seen an advice animal post in awhile.
I don't think McDonald's is as bad as Burger King. I had a whopper and the bun made it actually taste sweet. Like a burger wrapped in a glazed donut or something. They're putting a ridiculous amount of sugar in those buns.
I've never heard of blood pressure working like that, and I'm a nurse.
He was mostly lucky in that regard. The amount of fires Barnum had with only animals dying and not people is pretty impressive. He had at least five buildings burn down alone. One of his fires at the American museum had a nice effect due to the cold weather in New York at the time.
It took a while after his death before one of the big top shows really went up in smoke with significant loss of life.
Yeah and not just pure take home. Also any benefits(though in this industry they'd be the worst of they're even offered), making sure you have a correct staffing matrix, and taxes/unemployment insurance. It's pretty cost prohibitive, depending on age. And once it's not, the kid really can stay home alone.
Some of it is skimmed off, sure, but most of it is because it's fucking expensive to employ people to just watch kids.
Center-left in US sees a lesson in British election results
>A center-left group in the U.S. sees a valuable lesson in the landslide victory of Britain’s Labour Party after nearly 15 years in the political wilderness.
>The centrist Democrat think tank Third Way argues in a memo obtained Friday by POLITICO that Labour’s sweeping win shows that “centrism wins elections” and can undercut right-wing populism by appealing to the broadest segment of the population with a credible platform.
TIL sailing ships commonly moved around without wind by warping
Warping is throwing an anchor either manually for a small ship or by rowing the anchor out and dropping it farther away for a larger ship. Then the ship would reel it to change position. Good for maneuvering in harbor. Etymologically related to "throwing" and essentially threading a needle across the sea.
Warp factor get you asses in the rowboat. Engage.
Modi loses ground in parliament, but his Hindu nationalist policies are here to stay
For the first time since Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party swept to power in 2014, the party did not secure a majority on its own in 2024 national election. But the prime minister’s coalition is still expected to run the country for another five years.
Modi’s allies generally support pro-Hindu legislation, but making new policies could be complicated by coalition politics and a slimmer majority.
Despite a setback, many of the Hindu nationalist policies he’s instituted over the last 10 years remain locked in place
When TikTok mobilized its users to lobby Congress, it backfired spectacularly.
Interesting to note here: getting preteens to confusedly call Congress with threats of self harm and questions like "what is Congress" with a push notification is not the best plan

President Biden told a Democratic lawmaker and members of his Cabinet after the State of the Union address that he told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that they will need to have a “come-to-Jesus meeting.”
Biden’s comments, captured on a hot mic as he spoke with Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) on the floor of the House chamber, came after Bennet congratulated the commander in chief on his speech and pressed him to keep pressure on Netanyahu over increasing humanitarian issues in Gaza.
