It can be very moody and lovely. The lack of sunlight in the winters can be a bit of a struggle to deal with however.
I talk to my husband about this stuff because it's just funny to watch him react to it.
Sometimes when you're new and an atmosphere starts forming you can find yourself making jokes to avoid 'falling in' to it as a reflex - because some part of you is trying to reassert control over the emotions that were getting touched by it.
This was my experience and I've seen it happen to others. Just try to recognize it if that's happening to you and try to embrace it instead of pushing it away.
Or maybe your group likes to make goofy jokes the whole time, thats a different experience but also valid.
My best experiences have been a split, lots of little jokes then suddenly we all get really into something without expecting it and they drop away for a bit and re emerge later.
Of course. But learning a language as an adult is a huge challenge. I take lessons but it's slow progress, people aren't always understanding when you stumble or don't know words and I'm juggling full time professional work on top of it so time and mental energy are limited.
Even after years of practice I will never not sound like a foreigner, which is distancing.
Work is how I got in. The IT sector gives you a fair bit of mobility as a worker, an EU blue card can be obtained without a degree (but with relevant experience) if you have a company sponsor you over.
I came back recently too and honestly it feels great. Having so much fun. They don't have the frustrating gimmicks that defined previous expansions, the new talent trees are really well made, the gear drops are fun and interesting.
It's a bit worrying for me to be getting pulled into wow again, I thought I was safe...
I'm an American living and working in Europe for years now. It's pretty great, although language barriers can leave you feeling a little isolated sometimes. That said, the thought of going back to the US turns my stomach. European working culture is much more... Human. More understanding about things like sick days, better vacation packages and, better worker protections.
I wish the US could be better, but it no longer looks like that will happen in my lifetime so I'll do my best to find happiness here instead.
Yeah, but most games can't handle that many explosions so they just crash unfortunately.
Russian oligarch dies peacefully in his sleep of old age.
Mikhail Roguchev died peacefully in his sleep last Thursday evening surrounded by his family and the heavy iron chains he had fashioned to keep him from being thrown through a window...
No, they pretended to get mad so they had an excuse to cut their workforce without having it labeled a layoff.
What would those solutions actually look like?
This didn't used to be the case until the Thompkins ruling amended the Miranda ruling in 2010.

Its unfortunate how difficult it is to stay aware of basic rights for lay persons with decisions like this throwing out old assumptions.
Man it's sad how much distrust they've built up now
This comment is hilarious because it's exactly the sort of thing OP was ranting about
It's a relief valve though. As someone who has suffered from unavailable care, black market drugs probably saved my life. I'm not terribly against adults being able to make such decisions on their own judgment.
I hate this but honestly it's the most truly American way to handle it so I say go for it.
