8 yr old me after my parents did my woodworking assignment
  • I like to shit on Elon as much as the next person, but as someone who works in aerospace mfg, if he understands 3% of SpaceX’s manufacturing and supply chain he is already in the top 99.9999999%. What they have accomplished is absolutely unfathomable and why we have to make exceptions when hiring experienced SpaceX people into our company to pay 2-3x standard pay for them. They really really know their shit and are making everyone in the industry better by leaving SpaceX.

Edit: ITT a bunch of people who have never held a real job outside of ex-Reddit mod and pretending to be an tankie while mommy and daddy pay all of your bills, pretending they understand mfg ops and supply chain. Optimization is extremely difficult and at my last tech job we had to hire a bunch of PhDs to help us figure out a supply chain network issue. The simulations would have to run for hours and took thousands in compute daily.

  • Trump's transition team turns to Project 2025 after disavowing it during the campaign
  • Most of America doesn’t give a shit about California women’s right to an abortion, or that transgenders should be allowed in whatever bathroom they want, or that Trump is “weird”. They care about “am I better off now than I was last year?” And the answer for a lot of people is “no”. They look at the democrats brag about unemployment rates being low and that is inflation is brought under control, while most of America is still paying $5 for eggs that used to be $2. Everyday middle Americans can no longer afford simple things and their kids are worse off than they are. I know this problem wasn’t wholly created by Biden, Harris, or even Trump, but Americans felt like Harris didn’t care about their plight and that her upper class California woman self was really unrelatable. Then Harris spends a lot time trying to get celebrity endorsements and she is so out of touch that she didn’t realize celebrity endorsements actually lose you votes. People don’t care what Beyonce and Cardi B think about politics, well not the smart people or the people’s vote you actually need.

  • How some Texas parents and historians say a new state curriculum glosses over slavery and racism
  • Apparently didn’t investigate enough. In high school I had a teacher that had a masters from Columbia and was a total moron. Made me realize that maybe Ivy League is more about who can afford it than brains. Also, journalism isn’t a history degree and it shows. You ever wonder why the best authors on historical topics all come out of Britain and have history degrees? Is well known that American “historians” post 1985 are all trash because they are journalists and not historians.

We need to stop being like “they went to Ivy League so they must be smart!” The most brilliant people I work with went to state schools and I work at a very recognizable tech company.

  • How some Texas parents and historians say a new state curriculum glosses over slavery and racism
  • it does not derail the race based slaveryn in America that made it distinct from the rest of the world

This blogger can’t be this dumb, the derivation of slave comes from Slav because of the Muslim enslavement, specifically of whites.

Arabs continued the slave trade long after it was outlawed and still do race based slavery to this day. I don’t agree with downplaying it, but at least teach it accurately.

  • Should women be allowed to fight on the front lines? Trump’s defense pick reignites the debate
  • I have never fought on the front lines so my opinion shouldn’t matter nearly as much as others with that experience, but it seems like if a woman can pass the same exact physical standards required of infantry units to fight on the front lines, then there would be no harm in doing so. If standards need to be lowered because women generally are smaller and weaker than men, then that’s where I would foresee a problem.

Regardless, a bunch of tankie wannabes on Lemmy most likely have 0 clue of the reality of the situation. Historically, women have fought sparingly in combat roles and have been put in positions that require less physical prowess and more technical skill, I.e. snipers, pilots, drivers, nurses, medics. There is most likely a reason for that that is inclusive of personal choices.

This is one of those issues where Lemmy’s opinion and arguments are the farthest thing from being taken seriously by me.

I’ll wait for the DoD or pentagon to release several studies in which these scenarios were tested and view the results, and base my opinion off of their general consensus.

  • Reporters Without Borders sues X
  • I think they have to sue in French court, right? Couldn’t X just “Section 230” them to no end if they sue in America? Ironically, Trump wants to repeal 230 and claim Platforms are actually publishers, but I guess he wants to do that to silence his critics and no real concern for disinformation.

  • Berlin lawmaker proposes women-only train carriages like in Tokyo
  • He is, I don’t know what you are on about. He has to actively fight the active flood of news, social media, and propaganda that says men are terrible and that if you don’t bow at the alter of Kamala Harris then you are a racist, misogynistic, homophobe. I guess all those married white women, black and Hispanic men are now all racist, misogynistic, and homophobic.

Or…. Working class people are tired of having their intelligence insulted and life put at risk so that upper class trust fund babies can complain about pronouns, because that’s whose vote the democrats tried to win over. I watched the debate, followed Kamala on social media and all I know about her positions are “Trump is stupid”, “Tariffs are bad”, “pronouns are important”. And people are suffering and struggling to buy eggs. maybe don’t throw your voter base under the bus to highlight the importance of drag queen story hour and Kamala would have won. Or….. maybe the dems could fucking learn to hold an actual primary and democratically elected their party nominee. Kamala is unlikeable and even more unrelatable. A Bay Area upper class woman with a “holier than thou” attitude would have lost to the pile of dog shit in my back yard. A blue collar worker in North Carolina doesn’t want to be told that he is an idiot because he misgendered Demi Lovato and couldn’t possibly understand the struggle they/them have been through as they try to shut down another small business for no reason in their multi-million dollar home in California.

  • "Democrats better get their shit together before the 2028 election," says adorable friend who thinks there's going to be a 2028 election
  • I was watching a video the other day of Rachel Maddow talking about how now that Trump is elected, we will never have a vote again. We will be a Russian puppet state and that all immigrants regardless of status will be deported. I was thinking that’s a possibility and a scary potential future. Then I realized the video was from 2016… and Trump went on to be so ineffective that more immigrants came in than Obama. The only lasting legacy he will have is the Supreme Court, which sucks, but he is too ineffective to do anything other than rant on truth social. He is good at saying things, not doing things.

  • How many people here are on TRT and what's your regimen?

I have been on TRT roughly 2 years and do 140mg/week of test cyp. Overall it has been life changing. I originally suspected something was off about 4 years ago and fought with my primary care doctors about getting tested for low t. My results came back at 150ng/dl with the “normal range” being 240-750ng/dl. After the results my doctor tried to put me on anti depressants. I told them to screw off and called a clinic the next day.
