Recommend some of your favorite psychological horror movies!
  • It's definitely not for everyone, and transphobes need not apply for obvious reasons, but I thought "I Saw the TV Glow" was an interesting psychological horror. Do not expect realistic performances or an unambiguous story, but as an arthouse fever dream representation of someone suffering from gender dysphoria, autism, self harm, and obsessive fandom, I thought it was a worthwhile watch.

  • What's A Piece Of Software You Could Never Do Without?
  • Unparalleled customization and plugin options. The default skin is super bare bones, but if you like to tinker, you can build it out to your exact specifications. Invaluable for audiophiles with large self hosted collections and for scraping metadata, album art, lyrics, or automating path and filenaming conventions.

  • What were your (now retro, but not at the time) gaming wow moments?
  • Boomer take, but going from NES to the SNES and seeing the advances in sprites and animations in Nintendo games like Donkey Kong Country, Link to the Past, Yoshi's Island, and Super Metroid was really mind blowing.

Also seeing the early days of more cinematic approaches to storytelling in SquareSoft games like FF IV, VI, and Chrono Trigger. Those really forshadowed how games would mature into a serious storytelling medium for me. FF IV's opening scene on the airship and the music is still burned into my brain.

The transition to 3D the following generation was also insanely impressive obviously, but none of those games have aged half as well as the 32 bit era.
