This I didn't know. All I knew were this one or this one (also in other denominations), which could be found in general circulation.
There are quite some checks and balances in place over here (Netherlands). I have known some terminally ill people who went this route, and one it wasn't an easy option, two people postponed or didn't go through with it, three some people couldn't take this option anymore because you have to arrange it in advance and they ran out of time.
In the Netherlands we have the current monarch, so it changes every 30 years or so. And sometimes we have a special occasion image, but I can't remember if we've had one of these since we got the Euro as our currency.
I know. Specifically, I mean the kind of people where you can tell from the moment you start talking, they're listening not to your story, but for a hook to turn the story about them. I have a coworker like that, if I tell a story about something that happened to me this week, he'll tell a story about what happened to him or his family 20 years ago, which by the way is way worse/better. He is also always the hero in these stories. I find most of these people are deeply insecure and try to cover this with a big mouth. So, bully behaviour basically.
6 could fuck off too. I loathe these one-uppers.
To clarify, the pompous part relates to "devote my energies to building up an audience". But maybe it's because I devote my energies to shitposting instead. On the other points I can get where you're coming from.
I will never again devote my energies to building up an audience on a platform whose management can sever my relationship to that audience at will
I don't know who this person is, but that seems a bit pompous.

This. Also, scratch that 2nd, these day the 4th generation is coming of age, and it's getting boring to refer to them as anything other than Dutch. Sure, they may call themselves Moroccan or Turkish, but it's the same as all the Irish people of Boston.
Trump seems to be senile already (the dancing town hall meeting comes to mind), so I think it's more the question when Vance will take over, not if he will try.
I don't believe it. As a Dutchman, I see it all over Europe too. The classic working man parties started catering to white collar some time ago, and the blue collars don't want to hear it anymore. Bernie would still be a democrat, just like Biden, Obama and the Clintons. People didn't see change during their presidencies, and they don't believe anymore that this time it's going to be different. So you get to see the kind of people that we used to laugh at in the nineties ruling countries right now.
Maybe we should be happy it doesn't happen, breaking down all plastics which are currently everywhere would probably result in massive CO2 emissions. That's why I'm always sceptical when these kind of articles appear; it gives some people an excuse to say the overuse of plastics isn't an issue.
I can't find it in the article, but I assume this is the same as all the other plastic eating organisms; They can eat plastic under specific circumstances, but would rather not. What is in the article; they can only survive on polystyrene if it is mixed with other food and nutrients.
Not where I live, we actually have a second christmas day on the 26th.
There's nothing you can do - you do what you can. Got it, just do nothing?
I got my first extra hour the day after I was born.
Edit: I was wrong, it turns out there was no DST in my country when I was born. So I definitely banked it.
I was thinking, I was in Berlin last week and didn't see much trams, I'm not even sure I saw any tram. It turns out I only visited places bordering on the tram network.
